It's long because I'm upset. Sorry: I am a very overly kind person. I'm also very poor. My father and brother are helping pay for and install a new water heater due to it leaking for over a month and ruining my home. I couldn't afford to fix it nor the flooded flooring and walls etc etc but they are stepping in. Now we find Menards sells a small water heater for -$200 than other stores! So we're locked in to this store. We can't pay someone to do the fix, heck we can't afford the fix. We unfortunately had to risk doing it ourselves. This store DOES do water heater exchanges. They take the old ones and sell you a new one. Most of the employees assumed we were doing that and told us in multiple conversations that we can bring the old broken heater there. Apparently there's a few details and loopholes where they won't accept them. If you bring the old one in first and purchase the new one you're good. If you purchase first and bring the old one after they'll now tell you to piss off because you didn't bring it earlier. Imagine dropping off your old water heater, a nice employee takes it in for you while you return the pickup truck you paid and rented from them. --and then you go walk across the giant store to check in kindly if you need to pay for the disposal and they yell at you over and over. Also they refused to speak to me other than yell at me. I couldn't even see the old heater! They refused to hear anything I said and continued yelling that they "never" take in old water heaters. But they do. Our situation wasn't perfect, but there was no reason whatsoever for treating a kind person like someone to be screamed at for several minutes. I was obviously just trying to be nice and figure out what went wrong and where but they were on some power trip. That was the first night. I literally was dismissed and told to leave the store for another day because they were done with me. ... what? I was trying to also purchase another hose I needed, PLUS I got a phone call from my dad that they somehow purchased an incorrect replacement and we needed to buy another water heater. But here I was being told to leave the store. Crazy. We had spent over a thousand dollars, we were telling the employees that we needed to buy much more, and still being treated like scum over a tiny scrap fee or whatever they might have at hand. And I was TRYING to get it back and fix things and they wouldn't even allow it. It was unbelievably uncomfortable. After the first night my dad still wanted to use the same store. We went back the following day and there were more rude employees who found us at checkout and started telling us off as if we had done something horrific. We were pretty sure they were holding our old water heater hostage still but they finally brought it out to us and then refused to do our exchange or purchases until they stood there yelling at us that now we have to take the water heater back... Anytime I spoke they talked over me saying things like "no listen to me! I'm telling you what happened and what you did to us!". It was aggressive, accusatory, and unkind. I was absolute fuming. I am a very soft spoken person, and I do NOT like being obviously taken advantage of for my personality. We were fine taking the water heater, but they even kept yelling at us "you better take that with you!!" even as I paused walking out the door to straighten my pants! And we were already walking away with both the exchange heater and the broken one! They were insufferable. If I had been alone or used all my own money I would return everything. Everything. I have to purchase a lot more stuff to fix the walls and floors and a few more plumbing issues now that my dad and brother are helping me on this. But YOU'LL NEVER SEE ME IN THIS STORE AGAIN! I had no idea how negatively these interactions would impact me but I just feel so upset and uncomfortable. I don't want to talk to anyone for a long while. I just felt judged and disliked no matter how much I wanted to work with them and show I cared and it was an accident.

I was told the products would be in around 2 to 3 weeks, so was looking forward to having them installed in early to mid December. There was some issue with my vanity top, so repeat measurements were taken on November 30th. I was told the top would be in either the week before Christmas (this week) or the week of Christmas. Long story short, my general contractor told me yesterday that ProSource told him my vanity top won't be in until January 8th. It is so easy to blame the holidays for these delays, but this should have been handled in a more timely fashion so as to avoid using that excuse. I was so looking forward to getting my home and life mostly back to normal just before Christmas. This ordeal has ruined my family's Thanksgiving and now Christmas & New Year's too ! Rick Ferguson with Sales dept did a phenomenal job of co-ordinating it. A team first came out within 24 hours of a phone call to measure and work out logistics. Again within 24 hours of first phone call - we got recs for what would fit the the space, we picked it out and order placed. Going forward the communication was spot on. Once it arrived- they fit us in at the time that worked for us and the task of installing in a tiny space came with not anticipated challenges but the team that came out did a phenomenal job!!! We finally have a washer and dryer that works!! It saved us $5k by avoiding setting up new plumbing in the basement. Would also like to mention- a nationwide retailer came out and we had to cancel delivery cause they wouldn't move anything to install the washer. On our second day after choosing our tile, Lisa was wonderful to walk with us to organize our purchase by literally being our personal shopper. We did not have to move or lift any heavy tile boxes. Due to a required out-of-state job relocation (which we provided proof of), we requested a refund of our deposit. That request was denied, and we were told the only option was to transfer the deposit to another buyer. While I understand businesses have policies, it's disappointing that there was no flexibility given our situation--especially since no product has been manufactured or delivered. We attempted to resolve this directly but were not offered any reasonable alternative beyond finding our own replacement buyer. I would recommend that anyone considering doing business here carefully review the deposit and cancellation terms before committing. Seems to be shady business practices. You can even brake a rental contract if you are being relocated out of state.
