The customer service at this new Sherwin Williams store is outstanding. I had a lot of painting to do and needed to refresh my living space by adding some color on the walls. I spoke to a color specialist/sales associate who walked me through the various paint chip displays and explained the different types of paints and their sheens. I was given a card with download instructions for the Sherwin Williams viewing app. This app provided me with the option to "view before I buy." Which is exactly what I did...I went home and viewed all my paint selections on the walls prior to purchasing them. By the way, it's suggested to use the viewing app with a tablet to get the best picture. And yes this will create an extra trip back and fourth from store-to-home and back, however, you don't want to skip this step. I bought the Sherwin Williams "Emerald" interior acrylic latex , which provides exceptional beauty and desired coverage in one coat. I also bought the "Duration" style of paint. By the way, ask for Kacie as she's an color specialist with skills who will facilitate this important paint selection decision making process.

Adj: Knowledgeable…read more This is a locally operated Ace Hardware store, I believe it is a franchise. The owners are helpful if you have questions about a home improvement or repair issues and don't know how to go about trying a solution to the problem, or how to use a tool, or even what something you're looking for is because you've never heard of it, let alone seen one, LOL. I haven't come in for those yet, but sometimes I'd find an answer on Google, but the real-life application and execution of that fix to the problem doesn't work out very well, and I'm stuck. This is where Greenhaven Hardware as a smaller, mom-and-pop outfit would come in. At a big box store it might be hard to flag down someone to ask a question at all. But here at Greenhaven Hardware, there's always someone asking if you need help. We came in once to get some plants and had some questions and they gave us some good advice and our plants are thriving now. They also seasonally have vegetable seedlings for sale if your thumb isn't the greenest (that would be me!) and don't want to attempt to grow from seeds yourself. Sometimes they would also clearance out seasonal items because their store has limited space compared to a big-box, so you can also find some bargains if your timing just happens to find you catching some good deals. I don't count on that at Ace, but it's nice to support local even if their prices are slightly higher (sometimes quite a bit higher) because we can get excellent customer service w/sage advice for tricky home repair situations. Overall, I'm thankful we have a locally owned and operated hardware store still in our neighborhood and it's a great thing to have when experience and knowledge is what you're looking for to tackle more complex home maintenance or repair scenarios. Thank you Greenhaven Hardware!

We are ready to undertake a kitchen remodel. This is our second day on the journey. Last week we…read morewent to look at model kitchens at IKEA and today it was a trip to Lowes. Sam in their kitchen remodel department was very helpful. He was very knowledgeable about where to start and the procedures. He suggested we start with the cabinent before the countertops. I also learned that they are two differnt contracts. You don't do them together, which is confusing for me as don't you want the work people to coordinate so all the work gets done at the same time. We learned that they don't actually come to your house to measure for your kitchen cabinent. What if you measure wrong? We learned that you need to get permits before dong your own kitchen and that's the homeowners responsibility. We learned that painted Cabinets are more expensive then stained. Though stained means you'll be using real wood. Sam prefers natural stone due to its longevity. We're not sure how that would look with our fake wood/lament floors. Sam is referring to Natural as Granite or Quartzite. From looking at the chart it seems that Delton and Porcelain is are better when it comes to stain resistant and scratch resistant and heat resistant. I also like the lass countertops they had at Ikea which they don't offer At Lowes. From the sounds of it it's going to take around 2 months of life without a working kitchen for us. That doesn't sound good. That's a lot of going out to eat. Though if we do it this summer the good thing is we'll be eating lots of salads and sandwiches anyway due to the hot weather. And cold cereal for breakfast. It also sounds like we need to buy everything ourselves versus going through a contractor to ensure we are the holders of the warrantee. Apparently who ever pays for it is the holder. Thant's news to me. There is an additional 10 year warrantee you can buy for the countertops that's around $400. That includes any accidents by the buyer or malfunctions in the workmanship. He said it's worth it. Follow us on our journey.

And honestly their stores are nicer and the products seem to be better quality. I get most of my appliances for my properties here. Their delivery service is always great. The bathrooms are always well maintained. Staff once you can find them are always very pleasant and helpful. Even if they don't know something they are happy to find a colleague that does, unlike Hone Depot where "I don't know" seems to be an acceptable answer to customers. The staff at the paint station are remarkable. My only complaints would be pricing for some items are rather high, seemingly over priced and they do t carry replacement parts for things like ceiling fans, causing you to have to purchase a whole new one instead. As a person that tries to be conscientious about landfill waste etc. this is disappointing. Over all great place for your home improvement projects with plenty of parking.

We usually go to the one in Natomas, but today we choose to go to the on on Greenhaven. I believe it's a smidge closer, only 11 minute drive. The drive is really easy, it's right off of the 5. Get off at the Florin Exit and then make your first left turn onto Greenhaven. It's located in the Nugget Shopping Center, next to Jimboy's Tacos, by the way they have tasty tacos, just in case all your shopping wears you out and you need a refresh. Parking is a breeze, the store is rarely crowded so the front spaces are usually empty. Just note that the parking is on a slant so be sure to use your parking break when you park. There are a ton more spaces if you don't want to park on a slant. They are part of a private shared lot with the shopping center. The store is relatively small, but has all your hot tub, spa, and pool needs. They even have a service counter and at home pool services. We only use their pool, hot tub, and spa water testing service. Depending on the cloudiness of water or when we change out the water we go on average 4 times a year or so. We change out the water around twice a year and since we maintain the chemicals daily we never get cloudy water and the chemicals stay pretty stable. Lately we have been buying our chemicals from Leslie's, prior to that we bought them off of amazon. It was just easier that way, they deliver to your door and they come in smaller quantities. We would like to give a huge thank to the sales associate that was working, Sunday, February 8th at noon. She is a total gem. Not only did she do our water test she went over what we needed to perfect our water quality. After doing so she looked a the picture of the chemicals we owned and pointed out the ones that we needed to add to out water. She noticed we were missing a chemical and showed us which one it was, but pointed out they only sold it in large quantities so she suggested we look online for a tub half that size for our tiny hot tub. We looked at the tub and thought we may have bought it in the past. She cued up her computer and sure enough we had purchased in the past, 2 years ago, when they sold it in half the quantity. That saved us from having to buy more. Now we're back at home adding the chemicals to our hot tub. It's going to take a the length of the Super Bowl to get the chemical "hardness" to the hot tub as it needs to be added in small increments. Good thing we're starting early.

I decided to replace the top with a corrugated top. This place is just about 5 blocks away. Really convenient. I had to go back several times to get the right materials to fix the carport. They had a lot of the items I needed but the top ridge cap wasn't in stock and i had to order it online and have it shipped to the store. It delayed my project by a week which kind of sucked. Plus the item wasn't the same color as the rest of the roof. It was a clear gray and the rest of the roof wasn't clear at all. When the cap came it wasn't that wide either. I got it to work but I wish it had been wider. All the other materials were at the store which I was happy with. I just noticed that the prices are so inflated than previous years. Not only are there a bunch of plants to choose from, the owners there are super kind and helpful! I went to buy bonsai trees for my mom's birthday and there were tons of options. I asked the lady for advice and she was able to help me narrow down which plants were best indoor, which were best outdoor, and how much they were. As others stated, prices aren't listed so you have to ask the owner how much the plants are, but they are fairly priced in my opinion. The owner was also helpful when it came to giving advice on how often to water the plants, where they should stay to get the best light, and answered all our questions. I ended up getting a ficus (left) and a juniper (right). When our ficus wasn't doing so well, we brought it back into the nursery hoping for answers on how we could better take care of it or plants like it in the future. Not only was she able to examine it, trimmed it, and showed us how to water it, she even went ahead and repotted a new one for us! We weren't expecting to even get a new ficus, but she went out of her way to find us another ficus, teach us how to take better care of it. This is one of the best shops I've ever been to as they truly care about their plants and their customers. We were just expecting to receive advice on how our ficus was dying and we ended up getting a new plant to start our journey again. No matter if you're a beginner or an expert, definitely give this place a go for some good service from the owners and some pretty plants!
