The staff is very helpful. I love the Emerald paint. Pricey but worth it. Diana the manager and rest of staff are great.

I'm always excited to share my experiences about businesses or individuals who truly go the extra…read moremile! I moved to Simi Valley about a year ago from the greater Los Angeles area, hoping to escape lack of civility, crowds, and general city issues like lines and forever traffic. I have to say, Simi Valley has been a delightful surprise! It's such a safe and friendly community where everyone is eager to lend a hand, very "Mayberry" in fact. I often wonder if Andy Griffith is the actual sheriff . [A joke of course]. Even though it's a larger area, I still love that it maintains a cozy "city" vibe with everything you could possibly need, just like in LA. One of my favorite local spots is DIY--it makes you feel truly valued the moment you walk in. The staff is super welcoming and always ready to assist you, unlike those big hardware chains in LA where you can wander around for ages before someone notices you! There's a couple of friendly kitties lounging around also. Recently, I found myself in a bit of a bind because my power was shut off for about 5 days due to the recent fires, so I couldn't use my tools at home for this project.. I popped into DIY to grab a solid 10ft steel pipe for a flagpole to support my Starlink, and that's where Raemon really came to the rescue! He was incredibly helpful, drilling the holes I needed, searching for the correct bolts and screws I needed, even offering to deliver the pipe to my home since I didn't have a vehicle that could handle it. I really appreciated that he took the time to help, especially since he was about to clock out. I tried to offer him a tip and gas money, but he initially refused, though I insisted! Thank you so much, Raemon--you truly made my Starlink mission a success, and I'm so grateful!

They are all very engaging, will give advice when you ask for it and there is always someone around to help. We use DIY when we don't want to drive across town. They have different selections than the big box stores and sometimes items that the big box store doesn't have .

Quick summary: great communication, best prices, incredible workmanship and expertise…read more Raul is the absolute best! One of the reasons we chose him was his excellent communication style and it was great to be in contact with the exact person who was doing the repairs rather than an estimator. Our upstairs neighbor had faulty appliances that wrecked our unit's (which was below) bathroom and closet with water damage. We needed someone to replace the insulation in the ceiling, do the drywalling, mudding, and painting. Raul came over on the same day I consulted Yelp. He gave me an all-inclusive cost on the spot which included materials. After getting a few more estimates, it was clear Raul's prices were the fairest. Still, the quality of his workmanship was extremely high. Each day Raul arrived early to set up so work could get started right at right 8am. He laid down a layer of protective material on our floor to stay as tidy as possible. From the very first day to when he finished the job he made us feel at ease because we could trust his expertise! He finished in the exact time frame he told us he would. He even went out of his way to go to the specific paint store to find the exact paint color and brand that was previously used in our home so it could match as closely as possible. He went above and beyond in so many ways to ensure the job was done properly by matching texture or leaving the drywall perfectly smooth where needed. I can honestly say Raul saved our home! Thank you so much for being such a professional and kind person, Raul. I can't wait to recommend him to our friends and family in Simi Valley when they need drywalling. The photos speak for themselves.

It's open from 8am to 5pm daily with an all-star cast of incredible knowledgeable and caring individuals who help keep GTN great. Grab a wagon and load up because you won't know when to stop with some many great plants, deals on supplies and their inviting layout. As a small chain of garden centers meets plant nurseries I have to say this location stands out. Their online shop is easy also with get learning materials, newsletters , resources and even a plant library. I'll never forget my first trip here with my friend Sam, definitely need to hit her up again for a plant day, but absolutely still enjoy coming here with others and of course solo for some planty self-care. Adding some Elephant Bush (Portulacaria afra) friends to the plant family at home. Absolutely and 818/SFV/LA Valley favorite among many. You'll want to get lost between the many areas the have here and in the main area as well as their extended open air garden on the parking lot side. Staff here is very personable and extremely knowledgeable. From lawn and outdoor patio furniture or fixtures, fountains, decorations and plant care musts, GTN has a bit of it all. Even fun seasonal items and sales. Entrance in back, where you'll also find their parking lot, fairly spacious, but it can and does fill up on weekends. Restroom available for customers.

Pricing here can be a little steep, depending on what you are looking for. We were looking for pots, and found some nice terracotta ones that were reasonably priced, but inventory was a little slim. I also saw that some of the items on their shelves have been there so long, the boxes are faded and kind of dusty. Some of the signs for pricing are hard to read, so we had to flag down an employee to help us, but they were happy to help. A good portion of the nursery and store are in the shade, but some of the other plants are outside in the sun so bring your sunscreen! There's a lot to explore. Would be a great place to take the family, or even have a little day date.
