As soon I walked in the store I was greeted by Pete, the store manager. He was very welcoming and knowledgeable about the questions I had regarding some 4-year-old stain with labels weathered so bad I couldn't tell what kind of stain I had. Pete took one look at the bucket and said, "We got you covered". Once the cans were ready, he handed me off to another technician who got me signed up with SW loyalty and I was out the door. All-in-all, I think that took all of about 15 minutes. Thank you for the great customer service.

I was advised to get samples from Lowes, where they could match the SW stain color codes with equivalent paint colors. However, the Lowes employee was not able to do this (possibly due to inexperience). So I ended up making an educated guess on what stain color would be best for my fence. I then went back to this location to buy five gallons of stain. The person there said there was a national shortage on stain (apparently due to the storm in Texas earlier this year). The employee called four different stores with no luck, and then gave me a list of locations to call myself. Eventually I was able to find stain at the Renton location. It would have been more convenient had their inventory system provided real time inventory information, as opposed to calling. I did come back a few weeks later to buy an extra gallon of stain. The person there was very helpful. She quickly found a store with available stain using the inventory system, and called in the order for me. Overall, I would rate this store experience as good but not great.

However, when I needed to touch up a wall, the particular color that I needed was not among the cans left behind. A number of them had labels from this paint store, so I went there for a custom match. I am retired and can go in the middle of a weekday, so I have never had to wait for help. It took them a couple of days, but they matched the chip that I brought in perfectly even though it was a difficult match in blue/green with undertones. I recommend them highly for this type of work.

I took the color code chart to Sherwin-Williams (from 10 years ago), along with a board with the color that I wanted. Unfortunately in the midst of my painting project they lost the only 'can-do' person they had on staff. The remaining people (Lindsey and Justin in particular) have been consistent in their 'can't do' attitude. I am 6 months pregnant and repainting my entire condo, so I needed the Ben line of zero-VOC paint, which this location has decided not to stock. Elle wanted to get my business, and I was ordering ~$600-700 of paint at their prices, so she offered to bring the paint over from their Poulsbo location. After that I needed a couple more unanticipated cans, and Justin and Lindsey acted as roadblocks to me getting those. Justin just couldn't be bothered to get them sent over to the Bainbridge location, but Lindsey was incredibly rude and literally talked over me for long periods of time when I was trying to explain how this effected my project. I can't imagine treating a paying customer the way I was treated here. In the end, I had to drive over to Poulsbo, which isn't the worst thing in the world (just took a big chunk out of my painting day), but being disrespected the way I was by Lindsey was really upsetting and inexcusable.

The best part it's truly genuine. The lighting in the store is amazing to see the true under pigments of colors. They have everything from paint to supplies. Do believe I even saw some painters clothes there! Samples are about $6 which is great when I need to have an actual visual on my walls not just a little square swatch. I am not even sure what color scheme I want but I didn't feel rushed to just grab swatches to get samples. They actually were curious what rooms it was going in and listened to my problems and helped me find solutions. I literally can not get over the customer service!

I found the same product three miles north for $50 a gallon. I would surly support them for $10 to $15 more per gallon, but not $30. Not good business Marysville paint.
