My family and I have never really done a big project like this ourselves so we came into the store a bit clueless. . BIG SHOUT OUTTO CARLOS for always coming to our rescue. We showed him pictures of our basement and he gave us recommendations on which primers to use and which paint finish to go with. He is extremely knowledgeable, patient, and friendly. Carlos made us feel comfortable in making every purchase and he didn't disappoint. Our old dark wood basement walls came out beautifully white! I decided to come straight to Big Apple Hardware Store after work on a Wednesday afternoon due to the hours stating that they were open until 7pm. I got off at 4pm and decided to take the 25 min trip to the store via bus and walked about 10 mins to get to the location. Upon walking up to the store I see an employee getting ready to close the gate. There was still another employee inside. I asked him if I could get a key made, but he told me no. I said well what time do you close because the Yelp hours say 7pm. He said that they close at 4pm. Is that so? I looked at him in bewilderment because it was now a quarter to 5pm. I cursed, released a long sigh, and marched off because not only did I waste time trying to get a key made, but there were no updated hours reflected on the website. To say that I was vexed is an understatement. I decided to to come back the following day on a Thursday and much to my surprise they were open. As I waited on line to get a key made. The employee rudely told me to go to the other side to get the key made. Quite frankly I'm not a fan of this place and the management has since change from when I used to come here. Not only are they rude but the way they conduct business is an abomination. If I didn't need a key made I wouldn't waste my breath or time here.
