This cafe is such a nice hole in the wall! The owner makes sure he makes your drinks how you want them, and he's always up for a conversation! My partner would talk his ear off if he had the chance, and Phillip takes it in stride!

It is a one person bathroom so there may be a wait when it's busy. -random note - if you're using Uber or Lyft in the area, maybe it just was the time that I went, but there were hardly any available. I had to wait over an hour to get a ride so just to keep in mind if you're someone who doesn't have a car or plans to get picked up from the area

The first time the barista told me I can lower the sweetness level and the drink was PERFECT! I forgot the past couple times and it is quite sweet. I have had the Liberty Bell both hot and cold. Either way is delicious (minus the extra sweetness - but that is my fault for not remembering to tone down the sugar). The baristas are super nice. They told me son that they can do any drink hot, iced, or blended...They also have lemonade with mix ins - he's planning to get that next time. The space is spacious. There are about 12 - 13 tables of varying seats a cozy couch area and a bar with bar stools looking out the window. There is also outside space. At 2pm on a Wednesday there are few people in there so room to spread out but also echoey for an 8 year old boy playing switch and getting a little animated. I visited on a weekday afternoon and even before 10am, there were other guests buzzing around this little coffee shop. Bolivar is located within a grocery shopping plaza, meaning they have tons of parking which is always great in ATL. The coffee shop itself is so beautiful! The decor, plants and art all channel Colombia, all by way of Atlanta. There were a few tables inside and outside, allowing space for those there to work, chat and lounge if desired. It was really easy for me to find a comfy seat next to an outlet to settle at for a few hours. I started with a hot latte and a Pastel conquistador and was so pleased by both. I didn't even realize that I had sped through my first cup of coffee before I was onto the next. The ladies behind the counter were helpful in sharing their favorites as I decided on my next orders across my 5 hour visit. Each order was better than the last. If you've been putting off a visit, don't wait any longer!

My only complaint is the online ordering process, which I find to be pointless as my order is never complete upon my arrival, ~20 to 30 minutes from the time that I ordered. I assume they are making the coffee upon arrival so that it's fresh and not watered down, but it defeats the purpose of ordering ahead. Otherwise great coffee shop, and great addition to the Smyrna

I needed a spot to work and easily settled down at an empty table. It was fall, my favorite coffee season, so I ordered my favorite Not Your Mom's PSL. Perfect for the not too hot, not too cold weather outside. My boyfriend joined me later and he tried the Strawberry Fields and we shared a croissant and the Green Machine (basically an avocado toast). Standard but solid coffee shop essentials. I'm not sure if they serve food since I'm currently fasting, but everything else I experienced made the trip and drive more than worth it. My only wish is that they had longer hours, though I completely understand the challenges that independently owned and family-run businesses can face. Nevertheless, this is a phenomenal coffee shop that perfectly fits my needs. The ambiance is both inspiring and warm, creating a welcoming vibe that makes you want to stay awhile. I'll definitely be adding this spot into my regular coffee shop rotation, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great atmosphere and experience.

It changed so much that I instantly said I'm going to sit and have my coffee. I walked up to the coffee bar, not a plain counter, and ordered my coffee and a huge-sized banana nut muffin. My mind started to relax as I walked around, waiting on my order, admiring my first real authentic coffeehouse. I have never been in an intimate coffee space like Safehouse Coffee. There are two levels; the first floor is gorgeous, with plants and beautiful pictures on the wall. There are bookcases, too. I chose to go upstairs and sit in a corner in a black chair with low lights, sipping on the smoothest latte and listening to what I'm sure was the blues. I like that there are a lot of single chairs for people like me, who often come to coffeehouses alone. I scanned the room and spied a guy sitting in the corner, relaxing like me. It's such a relaxing vibe; you can tell it is a fun place, too. I can't wait to return, but this time, I'm going to check out the evening vibe of this place.
