Your review Spike Marro just now This is the first time I have been to their new location. I had gone several times before when it was in a shared space off 5th Ave. I much prefer the new location as it makes it clear that Love Life Cafe is a restaurant. The new space has a much more cozy and intimate atmosphere. They are a great vegan restaurant. They now serve beer and wine along with a great selection of Kombucha and other non-alcoholic drinks. The food is where they really shine. The open kitchen design let you see the chefs at work. I am most impressed with Shido. Shido is their pop-up Sushi restaurant. The vegan sushi menu is only available during diner and is well worth the price. This is the only Vegan sushi restaurant in South Florida. There are so many options of unbelievable delicious sushi. I had several rolls and the Sushi Pizza. It was the best sushi I have ever had. They of course do take-out and delivery if you prefer not to dine in. As I'm not a vegan, I was skeptical about trying Shido's Vegan Sushi menu, but lo' and behold....it was AWESOME. Compliments to the chef! My only critique is that I was disappointed the Miso Soup was $14 so it was put of my price range. Definitely curious to try it though after how good the sushi was.

Wow wow wow! Finally a place that offers a variety of sushi rolls vegans and others can enjoy. And not just a boring avocado roll. I am not a vegan but I often eat vegan foods so I have tried it all. This is not only amazing presentation but amazing flavor! So much so their ceviche roll tasted pretty close to real raw fish (I believe it's marinated tomatoes they use). The pizza roll (forgot the name) was awesome; the crispy rice patty at the bottom was cooked so deliciously perfect. Highly recommend. I will be returning very soon!

Went here with my son, his girlfriend and my husband. Since they have been here before we let them order. They were out of quite a few things, so that was disappointing. They did offer a nice crudo as complementary. Some of the highlights: scallops and oysters were delicious. The tempura shrimp was good as well. Everything was very fresh but some things were not as good as others. Meaning not everything was great. The toro was very good. The less fatty was just as good as the more fatty one. They were out of the waygu but substituted amberjack which we ate but don't usually eat without telling us until it came out. The desserts were excellent the jasmine cream and banana cake was an excellent finish to our meal. Drinks were very good. But did not have any diet soft drinks. Casual atmosphere. But truly, it's that kind of excitement and life that allows a place like KYU to thrive. People want to be where the action is, and in terms of food - this is there the action is. We had the Chef's Special, and every single serving that was brought to us was a 5/5 experience! Our waitress was attentive and personal, without any sense of lingering or hovering at all. The staff did a good job of dealing with some of the rowdier patrons, and it was clear that this was not the norm, but some people looking for trouble with a bit too much of something in their system. I was impressed overall, and would absolutely go back next time I visit Miami. Probably a top 10 dinner experience!

The perfect start to the night. Bree took over once our table was ready and everything just flowed. Attentive, warm, and completely on top of it without ever missing a beat. And the food... every single dish felt like an experience and somehow better than the last!!! I genuinely couldn't pick a favorite. Even the krunchy kale had personality (which says a lot). The branzino, steak tartare, Korean fried chicken, octopus, mussels... I'm still thinking about all of it. Kim, the manager, was consistently checking in and making sure everything was perfect, and that level of attention to detail made the entire night feel elevated. We were really taken care of and my experience at Kyu ended with me in bed ready to sleep and a huge smile on my face. And left overs for tomorrow. I couldn't ask for anything more!

The smell when I first walked in was atrocious. It smelled like they cleaned everything with sanitizer water that had been sitting and reused for multiple days. WTF - I work at a sushi restaurant and this is insane. The appearance was great but the taste was horrible. I ordered the Hokkaido scallop roll and it was insanely fishy. There also was initiation crab inside (really bad quality one) that wasn't even mentioned on the menu to be apart of this roll. Not to mention the size of the rolls are giant and couldn't be eaten with one bite. Might as well be a burrito. Their "moshi moshi" roll was fine but again giant and the server said it was wrapped with seaweed as well as soy paper but that was not true. The wagyu roll was OK- but for $30 I am so upset. Over $100 for two people for lunch. Our server didn't even ask us how the food was. She was nice but she clearly didn't know what was in the rolls or ensure we enjoyed it. The lychee sake cocktail was undrinkable, it was too sweet but also too strong. How do you mess up a happy hour drink?? I called them and let them know I got food poisoning and they asked me if I was "allergic to anything" which is silly because I mentioned the extreme fishiness and mentioned I work with fish, the answer is no. He responded with "our food is super fresh", no the hell it isn't. Don't come here unless you want to waste your money. A million other sushi places I could go to for a better experience.

We got there a bit before our reservation time, and they let us sit in the smaller dining area as we waited for our spots to open up. We all did the $200 tasting and we were all pleasantly surprised by the quality and variety of the bites. It's 8 courses that range from a nigiri sampler, small bites, and dessert. Most memorable were the clam broth, beef loin and carrots, and the fatty tuna nigiri with caviar on top. The fatty tuna nigiri with caviar was the main reason I wanted the tasting! There is an à la carte menu too, but it was a lot easier just letting the chefs portion out our meal. Would definitely check them out and enjoy a superb evening out!

Then they pour the bottle touching the rim of your glass spreading contaminated germs from the other patron's glass! GROSS! They proudly boast that their service is top notch, while it's 7 men standing in the corner and 1 sweet woman dressed like a geisha being obnoxiously monitored. The vibe felt very intense there. The hovering over people in this tiny, little whole in the wall restaurant felt overwhelming. I started to lose my patience being that there is so much staff standing around and found myself several times having to pour my own wine bottle. 2nd, I told them it was my son's birthday and nobody went out of their way to make his birthday special! And just a fair warning, you will spend over a $1000 dollars and walk out of there still very hungry! What a disappointment! Furthermore, they price gouge people trying to pass off as if his restaurant is Michelin worthy! An absolute joke! And here's the "best part" when I tried to voice my concerns, I was told to leave! I was very polite and instead of hearing me out, trying to make my experience better, I get told to leave! How disgusting! Please don't come here. The ambiance is terrible, overwhelming, and you will get sick because they have no consideration for cross contamination!

The vibe of the space feels like they brought in the murals of wynwood to their interior design. The music selection was rap hit after rap hit, loved. We sat at the bar. Our server was Marcus. He was so helpful and attentive. Gave us his menu recommendations, which we followed suit. We ordered the duck dumplings and the sweet potato croquettes from the HH menu. From the regular menu, we ordered the bbq toro and the oxtail udon. The duck dumplings had a rich au jus, great. Our favorite app was the sweet potato croquette. Slightly sweet, a satisfying crunch, but soft in the center with tender brisket. The white bbq sauce and parm gave it a nice smoky nuttiness. Ordered another round, they were so good! The bbq toro had an amazing smokey flavor and a nice citrusy butter as the sauce. The cut was perfect. The oxtail udon was really hearty, and by far the best dish we had (though all the dishes were seriously incredible). It comes with a cured egg yolk, which they mix for you tableside. There was a good amount of oxtail in the dish and the udon sauce - bottle it for me please and thank youuu.

Sometimes less is more. I booked brunch for the Sunday after Valentine's Day. The reservation was confirmed, but then I found out they don't even open until 5 PM that day. How does a brunch reservation get confirmed for a time when the restaurant isn't open? I decided to give it another try this weekend and went at 5 PM to sit at the bar. The hostess told me there was a "Hungry Post" event happening. I asked about the price and she said it was $100 per person. Okay, fine -- but when I asked what the event included or what it was about, she seemed unsure and said it was "just a party" and that you just go in. No explanation of what was included, no specials, nothing. Charging $100 per person just to attend a "party" with no clear details feels odd and poorly communicated. I genuinely want this place to succeed because the food and drinks are great -- I just wish they would focus on that and improve communication and organization instead of trying so hard to be trendy.
