Shiekh in Montclair isn't your typical "footlocker" or "champs", it feels like they have limited inventory/selection of mens shoes (they don't have the latest of the latest) for example they presently do not carry Alphabounce though they've been on the market for some time but are also modern in terms of launch. The store itself is elegant, looks like they fronted more money than a "footlocker" for example, and the select for women's "high heels" is tremendous. The store is nicely maintained, and all staff appears more customer service driven, and want to help you. There is multiple people onsite, the day of my visit at least four employees for a smallish store; I was impressed. Generall stores such as these have one person doing all the running back/forth and one guy/gal at the cash register. It's almost as if Shiekh gives their employees commission because they're so hungry to help you. Overall, a change of shoe shopping experience, I spent ~ $300 2x pairs onsite and 1x was ordered for in store pickup ~7 days ETA. This store gets my five stars. read more

I ordered a pair of shoes from Shiekh. My card was charged and the item never shipped. I got an email saying it was backordered and to wait 5-7 days. They claim that the shoes are being shipped from another location to then make their way to me. Me thinking the shoes are on their way, I waited 3 weeks. No response at all from Shiekh. I finally decided that it was time to get a refund and call them...and I got put on hold for 30 minutes. I finally get on the phone with someone, who tried to get me to wait some more. I asked for a refund, and thankfully I got my money back. Since I paid with debit I was essentially at their mercy to give my money back. One star for the experience. The only redeeming part was that I finally got my money back. They need a better process if they can't deliver. Taking someone's money, saying the item is backordered, then not following up is bad service! read more

I had my eye on a pair of Nike sneakers for a birthday gift but was worried they would sell out before I could purchase them. When I called the store the sales associate checked the availability of the shoe, sizes in stock, provided the name and style number so I could order them online just in case. He also offered to hold them for me so I could purchase within 24 hours. As far as in-store service, they can use some help in that department. It's great to finally shop at at store where there is real customer service. All of the staff there was great! One of your employees that stood out to me was Pebbles. She went the extra mile, which use to be a regular thing back in the day. She was very hands on with my son and I, she made sure my son found shoes that he wasn't even looking for. They have Nice shoes for a cheap price, but the Customer Service is horrible. I was standing there for about 15 minutes waiting to get assisted. And where were the employees at??? Just chitchatting and messing around. Until they finally saw me standing there just staring at them. Then does it occur to them I need help. To top it off it takes the employee another 15 minutes to get the size I wanted and when I get to the register, they are trying to over charge me. I would avoid this store and would now rather drive to West Covina Plaza than to deal with this awful service. read more

I ordered 6 pairs of shoes through their online site. Nice shoes (visually), but the quality is horrible. They all seem to be different sizes and one pair I bought, after wearing them for a couple hours the rhinestones fell off. I will never buy another pair of shoes from this company. All the shiekhs show stores have horrible customer service. This location is bad as in terms of the company. I order shoes from the store and told they were coming in a week from now. Expecting my shoes to ready they where not and I had to wait another week! They never came so I cancelled it. I over heard associates say they received a horrible review on yelp and since service was phenomenal I decided to leave a review for them on my experience there: My husband and I were in southern California on business and decided lets visit the mall for some sales before we leave back to San Francisco and came across this store by where we entered (from barnes and noble) and saw a cute little boutique looking store called shiekh so we walked in and glanced the customer service was nice. We later stumbled upon the bigger store and this one is by Disney. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by what seemed to be the entire staff instantly with smiling faces. There was a young lady named pebbles (who would have ever guessed that was her real name right?) She helped me and my husband right away and made my experience feel personal as if she instantly knew exactly what we wanted her awesome spirit was relaxing. When we wanted a particular shoe she informed us that she would get an associate to further help us with our selections we felt more and more like royalty. We were then helped by a young lady named ciarra (that's what the receipt says) who was very prompt with service. Both managers also spoke to us. A few employees did seem a little bothered but quickly lightened up. Over all next time I'm in southern California I will definitely be visiting Shiekh and expecting to see childrens clothing selections in joggers, etc also.Thanks guys and gals for all your service. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! I would give a negative star if possible. We purchased a pair of shoes less than 48 hours ago. The shoes were worn a handful of steps when we realized it wasn't a good fit. We called the store 30 minutes before going in today to return the shoes. We had told the person on the phone that the shoes had been worn for a little bit but we do have the receipt. We were told to just come and a refund would be given. When we get to the store, we were told that the shoes cannot be returned and that they had no idea who had answered the phone when we called earlier (really, I think I actually spoke to the lady that was right in front of me!) She just did not even try to help at all. The manager was in the back and did not come out to address our issue. My advice to everyone, stay away from this place!! You will find far better stores with better prices and far better customer service! read more
