I have a pair of Red Wing work shoes that are 10+ years old. The SLO's are cracking and delaminating from the boot making them unwearable. I took them into Red Wing Upland, CA for repair and expected to pay a hefty repair cost. Instead, I was taken care of by friendly and competent staff and the repair was performed at no cost to me. The problem though is that the sole material is old and brittle and could crack again in the future. I was advised to contact Red Wing admin and inquire about a remedy, possibly replacement shoes. I left the Covina store because of the incompetence and went back to the Upland store to work with Luis. Hopefully his manager recognizes they they have a valuable employee and rewards him appropriately. I did not get his name, but the receipt says Dan, Took great care of me and was very knowledgeable about their fine product. But the real shout out goes to samantha (maybe Marissa. I heard two names and wasn't sure which one was Hers). When I arrived she was helping another gentleman who wasn't finding exactly what he wanted. I wasn't paying attention because frankly it's not my business, but when he started raising his voice at her it was kind of hard to ignore. I've worked in customer service my whole life but it always amazes me when an employee can remain so calm and collected in the face of such an egregious prima-Dona. Usually this store is on top of it. I've been getting my boots at this location every year for the past 5 years. On 12/11/22 I ordered a pair of boots to get transferred from another location and was told they would arrive in about 3-5 days which is fine because I would come back next Sunday on 12/18/22. I received no phone call so I came back the next Sunday, and when I asked for my boots I was told they got sent back because a employee lost my order slip so I was pretty bummed out. I asked if they could get sent back here and they said yes. I asked when they would come in and I was told 1.5 weeks - 2 weeks because of the holiday. I am really upset at this point because all I got was a Iam sorry and you now have to wait 2 weeks. I am pretty disappointed at the customer service I received because a redwing employee lost my order slip. ANYTIME you have this place transfer any item make sure they give you a copy the yellow copy of the order form because I was told when I got them they would just call me. If I could give 0 stars for this visit I would sadly redwing will not even hold your order for 7 days even though they messed up. read more

Working as an RN in the emergency department means being on your feet for all 12 hours, and after trying many shoes i needed a pair that would not make my feet ache and burn with every step i took. Fellow coworkers told me about red wings so I came by to give them a try. The sales associates there first measured my feet digitally, seeing where the pressure was then based on my budget let me try on different pairs. They allowed me to try on the shoes for several days to see how I liked them. The first pair was a tad small, so I came back and got a size larger. Ive had the same pair now over 5 years and they still feel like a dream everytime I goto work. Yea after an especially long 16 hour shift, yea my feet ache but nothing like before these shoes!!! They have a great variety of shoes from steel toe, to ones that go up to your shins, to different colors and if they don't have them, they will look for it from a different store. Granted prices are a bit pricey but they definitely are better then any other pair of shoes i've ever worn to work. Also they recommend that you bring the leather shoes back at least once a month so they can be conditioned (oiled, cleaned, new laces, etc.) This is a free service they provide which really helps to maintain the integrity of the shoes. Before they had you leave them over night which was inconvenient especially if you dont live close by, but now you can drop them off and they are ready in 5 minutes, nicely oiled and ready to go again. Overall the shoes are top notch quality. We've been through a lot. From gurneys running them over to vomit, blood, bodily fluids, etc being on them. They still are functional and comfortable. This is a must for people who are on their feet for long periods of time. read more

Some kind of odd thing happened in which my fiance' and I ended up paying a lot more than we expected to. So he picked some work boots that he wanted. According to this document we got from them, the boots were a certain price that we were fine with paying, otherwise, we would have simply picked another style. There's not much of a selection here though. Unfortunately, we had to return another day to actually purchase them due to no fault of his own. When we went back to actually buy them, the boots were a much higher price. We had only been there 2 days before (because it was a holiday the day before). Had we known this would happen, we would have brought the original document we were given by THEM that showed the lower price, so we could have rechecked things. They claimed we were given the wrong price list document. They called the "person in charge" to see if there was anything they could do. They were able to offer a tiny discount, but the total was still a lot more than we were expecting to pay. Now, we could have chosen to return on a third day to see if the manager could so something. We just went ahead and bought the boots then ONLY because we wanted to be done and these were work boots that my fiance' needed for work. The entire interaction was handled in a calm manner, but that was just an odd occurrence and I wish we had that original document that showed the lower price. I gave a 2nd star in my review because at least the employee offered to call their boss to see what could be done. Oh well. We had never set foot in there before and have no reason to anymore. read more

Great boots, terrible customer service I sent in my work boots for repair on 10/21/2020 and they said it would normally take about 2 weeks but because of Covid its taking 5-6 weeks, which is perfectly understandable. After waiting 7 weeks I called for an update and they told me "let me call the cobbler and we'll call you back" but never did. I called and spoke to someone on 12/16, 12/17, 12/23, 12/30 and 2/1 and each time I was told they would call me back they never did. On 2/10 I called the store and left a message (still never returned my call) so I called corporate customer service. Corporate called me back a few hours and said my boots are suddenly there and ready to be picked up without any explanation. I waited SIXTEEN WEEKS to have my work boots repaired and it was like pulling teeth to get the back. The store never apologized. read more

I have been in the trucking industry for over a decade and have seen drivers with Red Wing Shoes as well as growing up with my dad as a bus driver he had a pair or two. I have always been a bit frugal and my ankles as well as feet have suffered. So on 03/25/2021 I took the plunge and went into the Upland store just before closing for the day. I met with a young man named Luis, now Luis is all of 100lbs soaking wet and looks about 18years old but OMG! I told him what I do and how much standing as well as walking I do in a day, from there Luis went into action. This young man has so much Red Wing knowledge it blew me away. I was just going to look, but walked away with a great pair of King Toe Boots. This young man needs to be groomed for his own store. This review is to reflect this store, NOT Redwing product. The new staff of females is horrible. One has a horrible attitude!!! I pre paid a 100$ for re soles to be done a 2.5-3 weeks. At 4weeks I came in to the store to inquire about my boot. The staff has an attitude telling they would of called if they were done! I asked the lady how long one should wait before asking about something I already paid for? They made a call and my boots were magically going to be done by the next day. Later that day, i get a call, with the same rude lady, rudely telling me that they put the wrong Sole on my boot, and if I didn't want the wrong ones, i would have to wait extra time for them to fix there mistake! Like it was my fault?? Anyways, I pick up my boots, there all scratched up, obviously the shoe guy was also mad i didn't roll over and take the wrong soles. There customer service sucks, no sorry or any acknowledgement that i waited 5 weeks for re soles because of there mistake. This places customer service sucks stay away if possible. Started a new job and I've had redwings before and they are soooo comfortable so I thought I'd try them again. I'm tired of my feet hurting from cheap shoes for crews or Payless that never last. So I came in about 30 mins before closing and Sonia was happy to help me out. I got on their pressure machine. She recommended son insoles as well but my budget wouldn't allow it this time. . Bad experience my first boots didn't last 1 week! And it's already ripped by the Metatarsal Guard. Contacted the store and talk to Juan and I told him what happened so send me a new pair. When I received my new pair of boots it's different type of leather/style and they added this shinny rubberized on the steal toe part up to Metatarsal Guard. Quality is poor and appearance is poor.
