They been here for a very long time and their kbbq is very consistent. They have option of all you can eat and or individual plates. Prices are reasonable and their side dishes are excellent. It's your not fancy place ; just a good place to eat and hang out.

I use to come here A LOT when I lived in Irvine. I recently came to Shik Do Rak again for the first time in years and it's still a solid spot! The place has not changed at all since I first went back in the late 2000s or something like that. It's not fancy and more of a casual kbbq place. If you can make it during their happy hour time, it's so worth it! I think it's like $25 for the basic tier AYCE which is great. We came for dinner on a Wednesday night around 6:20 PM and did not have to wait. We did the basic tier AYCE and tried their brisket, pork belly, NY Steak, beef fingers, and large intestine. The quality is good, not the best. If you're looking for super high quality meats, this is not the kbbq spot for that. But for an AYCE quality it's good if you stick with the basics like brisket and pork belly. Bonchons were tasty and the vegetables seemed fresh. Service was great, they were attentive and changed our grills when needed. Even asked if I wanted more large intestine after bringing it to my table because he probably felt it was a small portion.

I genuinely don't understand how this place has good reviews, the food quality is so terrible it was so difficult to even get through dinner. Was so excited to eat kbbq, this was the local late night open spot. Originally wanted all that bbq, and was disappointed that we missed last call. This was unfortunately the last other kbbq option locally, so local actually. And was my first time, was so excited because I've heard good things about this place and it was decent reviews.. but my god the quality of meat is terrible at their 34.99 option. Service was slow, had to ask my server for things I needed a few times/repeated myself. Wouldn't come back again! Save your money actually. Food presentation for the beef belly looked good but when it cooked it was terrible, I asked my service if it was sliced fresh and he said yes, I ordered beef belly again a second round and it was frozen just like the first photo?? Was so confused. Food presentation looked decent but cooked terribly.

I haven't been here in years, and I'm so glad my friends and I decided to come for dinner! The staff were all super nice and attentive. They made sure our banchans were always refilled, which I really appreciated. My go-to items at any AYCE KBBQ spot are the beef belly, thinly sliced pork belly, and beef brisket, all of which were delicious here. My friend enjoyed the flat iron steak, though it wasn't really my favorite. I also tried their spicy tofu soup, which had a nice kick and great flavor. Overall, it was a solid dining experience, and I'm happy we came back.

Shik Do Rak, is located in the plaza off the corner of Jeffrey and Walnut Avenue in Irvine. They're to the edge of the lot directly in front of 7 Leaves Cafe. Parking at this plaza can get quite full. Additional parking is available off to the side and behind the restaurant. Shik Do Rak, can get packed so we try to show up before the rush or put our names down on their Yelp waitlist through our apps. Even with the waitlist, you can still sometimes wait longer than what it may say as they also take walk-ins. We've been to a few Korean BBQ joints but we always come back to Shik Do Rak. They're not a fancy place at all compared to some other restaurants and the table tops need to be redone, but we know the staff here and it's like home. Plus, I really like the banchan that they offer. They're always happy to see us and will come by and talk to our group in between serving other customers. They've literally seen the kids grow up and even come in as new babies. They have many different servers and bus boys, all of whom are always polite, welcoming and attentive. You'll never get the "I'm not your server" here. Our party is usually mostly kids and just a couple adults so we always go with the 3-2 order which has 30 items on the menu for $33.99. It's got good cuts of meat without being overly expensive. Everyone eating AYCE BBQ has to order from the same menu. There the 3-3 menu for $25.99 with 16 items, but this is only available M-F from 11:30am - 3:00 pm, M-Su 10pm - close excluding holidays. I literally have to take the day off or get off work early to make it for the cheaper menu. Kids from ages 5-9 years old are half price. What we order; 1) Prime brisket 2) Short rib 3) Pork neck toro - this is my favorite 4) Beef belly - another fave 5) Squid 6) Marinated pork belly 7) Garlic pork belly 8) Fresh pork belly 9) Bulgogi 10) Thinly sliced pork belly - another fave 11) Steamed egg bowl - our party of six, once finished 11 of these at dinner. 12) Soybean paste stew - I like this but fyi. It's a strong flavor What we've had but weren't a fan of from the 3-2 menu; 1) small intestines - I actually eat intestine BUT I am super picky about it and I want the pieces REALLY cleaned out or I won't eat it. These had a bit of extra taste to it that I couldn't tolerate. 2) large intestines - same see above 3) Little octopus - we tried it but I couldn't enjoy this after seeing it wriggling on the grill from the heat. It wasn't alive or anything, but that sure messed with my head. It's not marinated so unless you dip it into something, there's no flavor whatsoever. I personally prefer the squid. Overall, for the customer service, food and value, we love Shik Do Rak. It's become a place we rotate with our other favorite places to go. We have been coming here for many years. A few friendly familiar faces that work there just make it all so much better. Guaranteed that my family leaves here with a smile every time.

Compared to other flashy KBBQ places in Irvine, Shik Do Rak is a homely, old fashioned restaurant with great service and a wide selection of meats to choose from. The staff was very kind and attentive to our table of 7, stopping by often to refill sides, change the grill, and take our meat orders. We ordered from the 3-2 menu at $34/person. This was my go-to spot for a good while; it was always busy and a fun time! However, I feel like this place is a bit run down now. The quality has diminished over the years - the fish cakes and cucumbers were a bit mushy, the rice paper was tough, and the pork belly came out looking a little grey :/ The brisket and the sauces were good though, and the free frozen yogurt at the end of the meal was a plus. It's a bit sad to see, but it goes to prove that quality is more important than quantity when it comes to KBBQ. It's a shame that there aren't many good local AYCE spots anymore.

Family was craving to Korean Bbq and Shik Do Rak is our go to restaurant. Staff is super friendly and quick with the orders. Prices are reasonable and they have various price ranges to choose from. The smell and sizzle of Korean BBQ is like music to you ears. Wait time was about 30 min so recommended to waitlist on Yelp to get a table. Great food and lots of choices.

Another great experience at Shik Do Rak. The service is great and they're always refilling the sides. We get the combo instead of the AYCE and it's the perfect amount of food. Thanks Tea for the great service.

I wrote this review for you all guys. I HOPE THIS WILL BE HELPFUL. You all shouldn't experience the same as me .Me and my friends went to Irvine location .Man !The service was HORRIBLE . At first , they pressured us to order quick before their happy hour comes , second, my friend asked for a new water cup as she found a hair on her water cup, but they never gave her a new water cup and I eventually ended up getting up from my chair and got it by myself from the drink counter where they put all of their drinks, third , I ordered two steamed eggs at the beginning , but the server never put the order in and almost at the end of eating I asked a different server to check, that other server acutally put the order in and I got one steamed egg bowl and forth, when we had nothing left in the plate to grill, we were trying to order more meat to grill , BUT We were told by THE SERVER to eat and finish everything which were on the grill and he said he will take our order after that !! THIS IS RIDICULOUS YOU'LL. They never did just normal basic service like water refill , and all the others sauces refill were needed to ask for them again and again repeatedly, Only so, they will give you refill for the sauces. BUT that server seems to enjoy speaking Korean to Korean customers even he looks like Hispanic as we saw that he was willingly serving and constantly checking on other korean customers's table but not OURS .HAHA Watch out Non-Korean Customers !! They should have posted * We serve Korean customers only* On their door.

Our favorite kbbq place is Shik Do Rak in Garden Grove. We wanted kbbq, but didn't want to drive all the way to Garden Grove, so we decided to try the one in Irvine. This location is a bit smaller than the Garden Grove one I believe. The service here is definitely quicker and attentive. The food is pretty much the same. The meats and banchan are tasty! They also give out the free yogurt soft serve at this location too! We would definitely come back to get our kbbq fix!

This place is one of the best kbbq AYCE spots i have ever had, The people here are so genuine and so sweet, Robert and Victor were super helpful and super kind to my friends and I. The food is amazing and super fresh and tasted amazing! Great location for solo dining, friends, and just to hang out:) Love it here

We've been coming here for decades. All the servers have seen my kids grow up, and they are all so friendly. It's always bustling here with a lot of people talking and enjoying their meals that they cook on their own tables. Although they have AYCE options, we always get the combos because we don't want to stuff ourselves too much...but we still do...because there's a lot of food and there's unlimited side refills!

Oh the timing. Just when I finally get this written out to post, it turns out that Frank's BBQ &…read moreNoodles has come and gone. Not that I can say I'm all that surprised in hindsight, but it's still kind of a shame. Mostly because I just wish the food had been better, but also because, despite how impressive the OC food scene is, I hadn't come across any BBQ joints/Cantonese restaurants that SF has so many of until randomly stumbling across this place! Then again, maybe I've just been too distracted by the many Taiwanese options that the Bay Area is so criminally short on... Compared to some of the Chinese BBQ joints that I frequent in the Bay Area, this place felt so much newer and a whole lot cleaner/nicer. That said, while the menu appeared to be a whole lot narrower, they still had a decent selection of offerings to choose from. Along with their nearly twenty different sides/snack dishes, which include items like pig ears with chili sauce, cucumber salad, chicken wings, wontons in chili oil, and tofu skin salad, they also had BBQ meats, like Roasted Duck, Soy Sauce Chicken, and Char Siu, a mix of rice and noodle dishes, and combination plates of their BBQ meats over rice or noodles. Sadly, though, no crispy skin roast pork, which was a huge bummer. -- SWEET FRIED CORN Admittedly, this initially didn't catch my eye, but I'm glad we ended up trying it. Every piece was crispy and I liked how sweet and flavorful the corn was. Plus, it was how this wasn't all that oily, though, I wouldn't have minded a bit more batter for some added crunch. -- WONTONS IN CHILI OIL Not too shabby. Although the skins felt a little overcooked, each piece was fairly plump and I thought the filling was pretty tasty. It was also unexpected to see a bit of broth with the chili oil, but it had a nice flavor to it and just the right amount of spice. -- TWO BBQ ITEM RICE PLATE with Char Siu and Roasted Duck I was the most excited for this, but it left me feeling conflicted. On the plus side, the bowl had a fair amount of both meats and the duck was really good - really juicy and the skin was golden brown. On the other hand, the char siu was super fatty and the rice was mushy. -- DICED GROUND PORK ON RICE...$13.99 More solid than spectacular, but still satisfying enough. Like with the BBQ plate, the meat to rice ratio favored the former and I thought the egg and the veggies complemented this well. At the same time, I wish this had more sauce to it, as the pork look a little dry/pale. In addition to how convenient it was to come here (there was a steady crowd, but it never got packed inside), I appreciated how fast our food came out. Also, I'm not sure if we just got lucky, but it wasn't nearly as hard to find a space in the complex's parking lot as it seemed it would be. Between all of that, the food being decent, and the relatively friendly service, Frank's BBQ & Noodles wasn't bad for some Chinese BBQ. However, it definitely could've been better, especially if Roast Pork had been one of their offerings!

I ordered the 3 combo (soy sauce chicken, char siu pork, roasted duck) plate with rice. All the meats were freshly chopped and tasty. Protein (and fat) packed hearty meal that I would definitely come back for!

Got to (FINALLY) check out this incredibly unique take on BBQ with various Asian flavors being…read moredisplayed throughout its menu! There's no doubt the technique and the skills are traditional American but the flavors have fun with Vietnamese, Chinese, Korean spices/marinades/etc. which made this such a cool experience. The outdoor seating area was massive which was a nice change of pace for BBQ spots and had a very family-friendly vibe. Tried out their traditional smoked brisket, then ventured on to their Pork Belly Siu Yuk (rubbed with Chinese 8 spice and roasted so that skin BE CRISPY!) and also got their Sunday special which was a GIANT beef rib with Korean Gochujang BBQ sauce! All the meats were what BBQ should be; Smokey, succulent and delicious but the unique flavors on the meats are what make this place stand out. Don't sleep on their sides though; I also tried out their Sesame slaw and pickled/spicy cucumbers which had that perfect acidity to combat that unctuousness of all that meat and then that cornbread...Good Lord was that great lol Definitely looking forward to coming back to try more of their grub!

Second time dining here, but probably not the last. For a party of 5, we ordered the 4 Main, 4…read moreSides Family Meal, two in-house Rice Lagers, and the Canton Bowl. The Siu Yuk Pork Belly has a nice crispy exterior and fatty tender interior. My dad's favorite done very well here. We also enjoyed the dry-rub pork ribs and moist beef brisket. For sides we tried the mapo chili, sesame slaw, spicy cucumber, and coconut rice. Personally, I'm a big fan of the coconut rice. The flavor is mild enough to let the meat shine, but has a very distinct profile that is still enjoyable to taste. As a good side, it acts as a nice complement. The sesame slaw is also very crisp and refreshing, which is much desired for me (typically not a heavy meat person). I don't particularly enjoy the spicy cucumbers texturally, as I usually prefer a fresher crunch. I also wasn't the biggest enjoyer of the tallow fries, which reminded me of a frozen crinkle-cut fry texture. In-house sauces are an appreciated Asian-spin, not your "traditional" hot sauce or barbecue. Service has always been accommodating and expedient. A past order mix-up was handled very professionally and smoothly, with an extra pandana (pandan banana pudding) for the hassle. If you're going with family, seating and ambiance is very pleasant. I always hear lots of children running around, with plenty of well designed spaces for socialization. Tents lined with stringed lightbulbs, outdoor bar seating, or traditional picnic/table seating are all available options. There's big restrooms, outdoor washing services, and multiple water dispensers. I went around 6:40 PM on a Saturday. Parking lot space is limited, so we've never considered it personally. Expect more street parking nearby in the neighborhood across the street or in that area.

Haven't been here in a while and it still hits…read more I got here late (7pm they close 8pm) and they were sold out of most things but I got brisket and short rib with that colossal bone. After trying the neighboring new bbq spot I won't name.. this places brisket is so much better. I love it here, juicy and great flavor. Some fatty bits but that's where the flavor comes from. and this short rib was bomb! The edges were a bit dry but I'm coming at closing time so I get it. FYI short rib is by weight $40/lb so it was about $50 for it. The sides I got were their macaroni and cheese 10/10 tastes home made! Onion rings were ok. Coleslaw is alright. Good for fiber! lol. I do like their beans and the blueberry bread. I love their nachos but they ran out of nacho cheese. Sad! I gota come back!

This young man was arguing with me over the phone over the brisket sandwich combo and the 2 piece chicken quarter meal. He swore up and down that he didn't have any chicken, but my wife called not even 5 minutes later and they did confirm that they had chicken all day. This was EXTREMELY disrespectful and lazy on Jason's part. He needs to find a new industry to work in as customer service is not his specialty. Jason, shame on you. Thank you, Joey
