This store has become one of my favorite places to go. They have wonderful things for stockings at Christmas including soaps, lotions, cooking tools and the best teas and candies. Their home made jams and butters will make your morning toast special and they have absolutely the best bread to make it with. All of their baked goods are great. Whether you just want a sandwich or a full dinner their ingredients will never let you down. You will find the best prices on spices all of which are organic. The people are so nice. The ambiance is just as you would expect an Amish store to be...Clean and bright. After I clean my house on Saturdays, I always go there as my reward. I highly recommend this store. read more

Very interesting Amish store! the cashier is very friendly. The prices were very reasonable. The store was extremely clean and stocked beautifully. We ordered two deli sandwiches that were delicious. Please be aware some of the items are not as wholesome and you could assume, check the ingredients. Otherwise it would be great to have this store in our neighborhood. read more

This particular store is amazing. I have been here several times over the years and they have recently undergone a massive expansion. They appear to have increased their variety of products and they definitely have that Amish store feel. I particularly like their fresh made sandwiches which can only be compared to a store long gone that used to reside on hwy 115 near Love Valley. Central Grocery made sandwiches fresh which I truly loved and have missed. This Amish store takes the same care and craftsmanship in making their food that "Central Grocery" did. The massive turnout of people always flooding this location can only speak good of the store. If you are passing through NC it is worth your while to see this gem. read more

What a find! We found the Hamptonville NC Amish community by chance, just looking for something other than fast food. We bought fresh made deli sandwiches and ate them on the large front porch. The store has truly homemade fruit pies. I asked the young guy behind the counter who makes the strawberry rhubarb pie for them. Either his mother or wife, was the reply. So of course we bought a pie to go, and stopped at the Amish creamery on the way back, for some premium homemade vanilla. Just so homey, and OMG, we saw an adorable young girl maybe 15, driving her younger siblings on a horse and buggy. They are the real deal. God loving people making their way. read more

We absolutely love this store! We come here quite often for lunch from the deli. We also enjoy picking up some cheese and fresh bread while we're here. The atmosphere is great and reminds us of simpler times when general stores were much more prominent. They offer a wide variety of baking products, jellies and jams, candies, pickled products, books, toys, and other unique items. There are tables and chairs out on the front porch, offering the perfect place to enjoy an afternoon lunch out in the country. TIP: The sandwich shop is popular and can be a little crowded at times. However, ordering is very convenient and the girls working in the kitchen do a great job. On the big table you will see a stack of blank order tickets. There should also be pens available. Simply pick up a form and fill it out, writing your name at the top and circling your choices of bread, meat, cheese, sauce, and so on. Then you give the ticket to a worker behind the counter. While you're waiting you can browse the store or go ahead and pick out your favorite chips and cold drink. There are several flavors of glass bottle drinks in the cooler toward the front of the store. read more

My husband is originally from Hamptonville and I always insist on a trip to Shiloh's when we are in the area. The deli foods are great and free coffee is unheard of, but nothing in this world rivals an Amish DOUGHNUT! A must-stop spot in the beautiful Yadkin Valley. read more

Very disappointed! If not for the sandwich, it would be lower. The size of the sandwich for the price was good. Now for the other stuff. The canned goods (jars) are made at the Dutch Kettle down the road. I bought the same product at the Charlotte farmers market. So, this is not made by the store. It's good product, but misleadingly marketed. The baked goods were made in house, I believe as they all had the same oily taste. The oil tasted old almost turned bad and it permeated everything. We got chocolate covered pretzels, oily taste, fried pies, oily taste, tomato bread ... you get the idea. I grew up in PA, surrounded by the Amish, my grandparents were Pennsylvania Dutch, so I kinda know what I'm talking about. So, I guess I won't be making the drive to Hamptonville for a nice sandwich, as I can get one a whole lot closer to home! read more

Great place! We went to the Laurel Winery down the street and they told us to come here for their Saturday only donuts. It was amazing! The cheeses and the other spreads they had were great. My husband and I took a day trip to the Store after it was recommended by someone in our community . Even though we drove over two hours it was worth it for the experience. Of course we had to have a custom sandwich which introduced us to their meats and breads. I found the roast beef better than what I buy at Fresh Market. My husband enjoyed the pepper jack cheese and some relish on his sandwich. I enjoyed the wheat bread so much I brought two loaves home which they graciously sliced for us. Wish I had taken a ice chest! Did buy some of their butter which I cannot wait to try out. We are excited to try some of the items we brought home. Have to say though that I was a little disappointed in the fried apple pies. If closed in places bother you or you have very small children would not be a good place for you. oh sandwich of my dreams, we were out this way doing a winery tour and our friends suggested we try it out becuase they go there all the time. I am so glad we did, first we pull in the parking which was to say the least PACKED!!!!!!!!!!. So we go in and again its PACKED, so we get our little slips of paper and the sandwich menu and start ordering sandwiches. They are freshly made and the meat and the bread are all fresh. They actually bake there own bread on site, who does that anymore and if you say SUBWAY i will smack you. we grabbed a bunch of snacks and baked goods and headed on out. We arrived at the winery and sat does down for lunch my roast beef sandwich was rare and tender and flavorful. IT was awesome, i got the hot pepper cheese and the spicy mustard and the pepper relish and it was actually spicy. Not watered down to accomdate the cry babies, i could have gone through at least 2 more of those sandwiches if i had the chance. The prices are great and the food is excellent and the views in the area can't be beat. read more

My wife and I wanted to take a day-trip in the country. A local produce place near where we live used to have Amish butter. Since it no longer is owned by the owner that stocked the butter--and the new owner decided to not stock it---I have been in withdrawal. So--I Googled Amish places in NC--and this place came up. The place is a GEM! It is stocked to the rafters (figuratively) with every kind of lotion, potion, jam, jelly, spice, and a thousand other neat and unusual items one could wish for. Much of the food in jars is home made. All of the bakery items are as well. The cheese curds are really flavorful, but not as sqeaky when you eat'em as the ones I used to eat in Wisconsin. The place is not too hard to find. It is very neat and organized considering the huge amount of stuff they offer. Everything is clean and well-displayed. The young man at the checkout was pleasant and helpful. I would take a half star away from my rating only because they did not have the same Amish butter as I used to get. The one they stock is from some place in Ohio. It is good butter--the same as is stocked by Whole Foods---but it is not GREAT butter. I will just have to keep looking for my culinary nirvana. If you want to take a very pleasant drive out to the country--and spend more than you thought you would: try this place. It is unique. read more
