Great place to get a super fast wash and vacuum! This place is super fast and easy for the money. You can definitely spend more and get a better wash somewhere else but it will take much longer. This is a great alternative to fast gas station washes. All you have to do is pull in and one of the employees will direct you to one of the 3 washing stalls. Then the 2-3 people will start hand washing your car. Then you just pull around to the drying/vacuuming area. If you just want the outside done you can stay in your car. If you want the inside and outside done just hop out and leave the door open. $21 you get the following: - Exterior Wash and Dry - Tire Shine - Interior Vacuum - Clean interior windows - Wipe down dash and other interior parts - All done in less than 10mins Pros: - Fast (10mins or less) - Efficient - Affordable ($21 for inside/outside. $11 for just outside) - Accepts Credit Card or Cash Cons: - My only complaint is slight swirl marks - I think some of the wash mitts might not be rinse out well enough between cars. - I'm sure this is probably an easy fix for them but as of now your car might get some swirl marks. Literally the rudest people ever. I just had the lady push close my driver door on me when I told her just the outside. They always charge me different prices, if I tell them "last time you charged me X" they always reply "it's always Y" However the men who work in the washing department of the wash are always very nice. Wave and smile. The tips are always out into the pocket of the lady that's charging. So know if they give them the proper amount of tips at the end of the day. I don't like to have them do the inside of my windows, cause they're always streaky. The reason I'm giving them two stars , when their attitudes deserve a 1, is because you can get a car wash/ and full interior vacuum for $20-$30 (I drive the same car there once a week and the price ranges in between every time ) other car washes charge $50+ for a exterior / interior wash. read more

Same ol' bait and switch bullshit. Took our BMW i3 (very small car) there today for an exterior only wash, and when it came time to pay the lady tells me "$13 dollars". I tell her the sign says $10.99 for regular cars? She says, "this car is $13". I gave her $13 and she says, "Tip?" I told her she already got her tip. I should've learned my lesson, but our SUV was filthy too, so I went home and took it over there for an exterior only wash. When it comes time to pay, same lady tells me, "$20 dollars". I point to her sign that says $12.99-$14.99 for SUVs. She says, "this no SUV, this is a truck". I told her it's an SUV, a truck is a Suburban sized SUV. I handed her $15, and told her that if she wants to raise her prices, then make a new sign and I drove off. I will never go there again, besides, the exterior wash is barely better than a gas station car wash...free with fill up! read more

I feel so ripped off! Went in to get my SUV washed, both interior and exterior. When asked if I wanted "everything," I asked how much that costs. The woman told me $25. Later another woman asked me if I wanted my mats washed for an extra $5, which I agreed to. I've never paid so much for a car wash, but after a trip to Tahoe and some muddy hiking, my car was filthy. Time came to pay, and a 3rd woman asked me to pay $40! I said, "No, I was told 'everything' costs $25, plus $5 for the mats is $30." She kept insisting that a small sedan is $25 for everything, an SUV is $35. I said multiple times I was told $25. I even pointed to the woman who told me the $25 price, she came over and changed her word, saying it's $35. I paid $40 for the car wash! One woman also made a face when I asked them to clean the mats in my trunk. She said, "they don't come out." For $40 they better clean those too!! Rip off! read more

Love this place! I've don't know how their detail service is, but if you are looking for a car wash and vacuum at a great price this is the place! I usually pay $30 including tip for outside and inside and I always leave happy. They are quick and efficient and do a great job when considering the price. Could I do the same level of work? Yes but it would take me 2 hours vs their 10 minutes. The only thing I would say is if you give tip, make sure to put it in the tip box and not leave it with the cashier. I don't have any proof, buts it's just a feeling that if you leave tip money with the cashier it won't go into the tip box and go instead to the owner read more

I took the 23 dollar "full service wash". This was the worst car wash experience of my life. They barely washed the car and when they said they were done I told them I did. It think the car was clean yet. The outside of my car still looked dirty and the interior looked exactly the same as it was. When I asked to speak to the manager, he was extremely rude and told me to just pay the price and go. I regretfully did so and will never come back. If you are thinking of coming to this place...DONT. Not worth it. I wish I had read the reviews prior. read more

Just got a car wash here. While it's awesome how fast they get you in and out, it's definitely not the place to take your car if you really value the quality of a car wash. It was $18 for a exterior wash + vacuum/wipe down of the interior. Communication was tough, as I believe only one of the people (other than the cashier) speaks English. The exterior wash: high powered, fast, and thorough, but I wish they dried the car a bit more. Interior: they use the same towel to wipe everything, and they reuse their towels, so I noticed a lot of gunk on my mirrors and windows that weren't there BEFORE the wash. 2 stars for the price and the speed, but I won't be returning as I can probably do a better job in the same amount of time. read more

I had water spots on my car, so I needed it to be buffed out. Over the phone they said $100, but in person they insisted on $150. After the waxing/buffing, my car looks AWFUL. There are marks all over the car and wax residue in the cracks. It basically ruined my car. I am extremely unhappy that they messed up my car that I bought brand new in APRIL and I will not be returning here. UPDATE: I went back to get a refund and they acted like children, not an exaggeration: they kept literally running away from me so that they wouldn't have to be confronted. The manager WHINED at me and said "I really don't want to deal with this today" to my face. She told me they "worked so hard on this job", and yet I had to take my car to another place and spend 600 bucks to fix THEIR mistake. Absolutely horrendous experience. First I would like to mention I HAD much respect for this place until this past weekend. I work in an auto body shop and our customer wanted a very thorough detail engine included, our primary detail shop was unable to fit a last minute appointment, we turned to shine masters, since I had gone there before for a qucik wash, and good price I thought we would have the same results, but I was wrong not only was the price outrages for the detail but I wouldn't have mided paying the extra $100 as compared to our primary shop, but it was overwhelming and dissapointing when I went to pick up the truck: Rubbercompound was STILL stuck on all areas of the truck Soap was dripping from the pillars and windshield of the truck Dust spots were visible in the interior of the truck They didn't even bother moving a small box in the dual cab to vacum underneath!! It was a mess if I hadn't called our customer to meet me at our shop in half an hr I would've made them re do it again What a disaster!!! I had to come back to our shop and have our body man clean up THEIR MESS!!! anyways what a horrible experience! I do not reccomend this place at all!!! read more

Formerly Atherton Smog, Shine Masters now concentrates on cleaning the OUTside of your vehicle. They do a fine job of detailing the exterior of cars, trucks, SUVs, and even minivans. But they no longer provide what was formerly their core service, smog-testing. Go elsewhere for that. The Masters can be seen on any rain-free day washing a long queue of cars, which can extend well onto Marsh Road. They do a good job of hand-cleaning the outsides of passenger cars (the only models with which I have personal experience), including tires and rims. But interior cleaning, including rugs, dash, and windows varies considerably depending on who does the work. Look the car over carefully before accepting it. And tip according to your conscience -- I haven't met anyone there who recalls whether they were tipped well on previous visits. read more

WOW what great service. Saj helped me at this place. I live in San Francisco and was going down to Stanford to attend a conference. Since I had taken the day off to attend this conference, I also decided to have my car detailed as well. When I dropped my car off, Saj gave me a ride to the conference at Stanford Business School and then called me once the car was finished and picked me up as well. The cost for complete detailing = $125 + tax and tip. Very friendly and sincere service. The car looks great. It wasn't in too bad a shape to begin with, but after they were done, it looked as good as new. The detailing process is almost the same every where, so the only competition is on the basis of price and service. This place gets an A in both. read more

Wow! Great service and at a really reasonable cost. Our minivan gets TRASHED by our three kids, and in one day, the pros at Shine Masters made it really, truly, look new. They even got out a nasty piece of gum that had beet petrified into the floor mats. All the cup holders and storage bins were meticulously cleaned, the leather cleaned and conditioned to a gorgeous gloss, and the best thing was the speed and cost. Done faster than promissed, and for only about $150. Other places have charged more like $250 for similar service. I guess I can't really express how much they resurrected the car. Suffice it to say that we are amazed, and see that cost as more than reasonable. We essentially have a new car. Very impressed. read more

I've been coming here for years mainly because Autopride and Ducky's became too expensive. This place used be ~$18-$20 for a full car wash but they recently raised their prices to $25. They were never incredibly thorough and seem to always rush through my car but at the previous lower pricing, I found it acceptable for the level of work. I typically have to spend 10 minutes after cleaning up spots they missed and cleaning my wheels - again, which is somewhat acceptable for $20. For $25, I can go to Ducky's or Autopride for better service and a better experience. read more

I've just signed up on Yelp to write a review for Shine Masters - that's how happy I was with the experience. Got here to have my car detailed after reading the good reviews. Sean, the manager there who was very friendly and seems to genuinely love his job, dropped me off at Stanford where I ran a few errands, and later picked me up at the same location. The car was in excellent shape when I came back -- with all the scratches that could be removed with detailing removed, all the seats and carpets, tires, rims and engine compartment bright and clean. Having received such good service at a very good price, I don't hesitate to recommend it to friends and fellow Yelpers, and certainly won't be looking at any other alternatives next time I need the job done. read more

These people are exceptionally rude. They barely dry the car at the end and then hold their hand out for payment without a word and ignore you if you ask them to dry the car or clean a missed spot on the car. Terrible customer service. Recently, I left an electronic piano in the back seat of my car on a very hot day and something from the electronic piano melted onto the cloth interior, which became smeared all over the backseat. It was a sticky, rubbery black goo that I tried to remove myself, but nothing I used could remove it. I felt that it would be a long shot, but I decided to call Shine Masters which a friend had recommended. The Asian lady who does the detail work was not sure if she would be able to get it out. They said they could do detail work in the back seat for $100 which would also include a car wash and vacuuming. About 20 minutes later, the lady came over and said the work was done. I couldn't believe it, the stain was completely removed! I have no idea if $100 is reasonable for doing back seat detail work. But, I feel like it was worth every penny for the amazing job they did. They offered to do a full interior and exterior detail for $150. However, it would have taken 4 hours so I decided to pass. read more

These guys did an amazing job with our C230 Benz. We called late and they accommodated us no problem. They let us leave it overnight and locked it in the shop since we were unable to pick it up again same day. When we bought the car, it had a distinct odor of crayons and something else we couldn't identify and it smelled like a new car with new leather when we picked it up (one of our bigger concerns). All the surfaces were shiny, well cleaned/polished. They even buffed out a number of minor scratches. The only con if I was being very picky is that there were a couple corners that weren't polished all the way into the very edge of the corners. For $150 I'd happily take a car there again. read more

This place has absolutely zero business etiquette. Completely unprofessional. I have been back a few times since I live in the area, but each visit ended with regret. Two times money has been missing from my consul but I didn't pay much mind since it was only a few dollars, but now it's more of the principle since it is reoccurring. Also, if I'm paying good money to have my car cleaned, the last thing I need is an attitude from the staff because of whatever personal issues they may be dealing with. I feel bad leaving this review, and I hardly ever do so, but when there is a business being ran this bad with employees who lack any bit of common courtesy, I just want to try and help any of my neighbors from experiencing the same nightmare I have multiple times here... read more

Shine Masters does excellent work, the truck looked like new! In addition to the exterior detailing and fine wax job they were able to get water stains out of front seat upholstery (a window was left slightly open during a rainfall) plus they cleaned an old vinaigrette spill in the carpet. Got a tint done here. 5% in back and 20% up front. Cheapest place on the peninsula. The only thing is they only had 4 tints to choose from at the time. Tint it pretty good. Couple very tiny bubbles but definitely worth the $$ read more

Not only is this place a car wash, it is also a car detail shop. This place did a terrific job detailing my car. It was filthy and I needed it perfect so that I could sell it. Robert, the owner was very nice. He quoted me a great price to detail the whole car ($175). When I was unable to pick it up as scheduled, he was extremely accommodating and kept it inside his shop for the night to keep it safe and clean. They were also willing to give me a ride home (about 20 minutes away) while the car was being cleaned, for a nominal price. I would definitely get my car detailed there in the future. read more

What a disappointment! I had read the great review on Yelp and being new to the neighborhood was looking for a good detailing shop. Although it was a bit far, I took the plunge to get my Range Rover Sport detailed at Shine Masters. Hard to get an appointment - but I thought it would be worth it. Picking up the car this morning was a horrendous experience. The detailer (James) was not around and there was a patch of blue (looks like paint or clothing dye) on the leather seats that had not been removed. The guy in charge of the place was too busy to tell us anything and I just about lost my cool (happens a few times a decade). I had to yell to get his attention to let us know how long we should expect to wait to meet the detailer. To be fair, James showed up a few minutes later. The blue paint on the leather he says is the paint of the leather coming off (Hmmm - the leather is ivory. The natural color of leather is brown. Where would the blue be coming from). I asked him to try and scrub it off. He brought a rag soaked in something (not clear what it was) and scrubbed. It seemed to get lighter- but James was sticking by his story - he asked if I'd like to try! Well...not really after paying over $200 for the detail! Live and learn. Never again. Postscript: I received one of the nicest notes from the owner I have ever received from a business thanking me for my business and apologizing for my experience. "I saw your review this morning, I really appreciate your feedback and I have discussed it with my crew. Please know that our policy is to have your complete satisfaction. I really apologize for our lack of service and please, if there's anything at all we can do to earn your full satisfaction let me know by sending me an email". You sit in the car while they pressure wash and dry your car. Then you have options of detailing. I went with the "super" package is actually quite basic including, wash, dry, vacuum, and perfunctory wipe inside the car. Service was fast and likely run by family. Those were the pros. Cons: unclear signage regarding services, too much water use, poor vacuuming and cleaning job. Not returning and certainly not worth the $16. read more

I recently brought my new car in for a full detail after having it being driven in the rain/dirt. This place is near my work and has a good rating on Yelp so I decided to give it a shot. The staff that worked there was very friendly. It took them about 4 hours to get my car finished. When I went to pick it up, it was late in the evening and already dark. I drove it home and parked it in my garage. The interior and exterior of the car did look really clean however I noticed a lot of swirl marks there that weren't there when I dropped the car off. It's a darker colored car so any imperfections will show up a lot more, but I really was surprised to find the amount of marks embedded in the car, especially when the Full Detail package included "Light Scratch Removal." For the amount I paid, I would have expected more care taken in washing my car. I've gone to other places that are cheaper and have done a better job. Overall, this place is okay. Like I said, the staff is very friendly and they do a good job cleaning your car; however, be aware that they may be leaving swirl marks that are highly visible if you have a darker colored car. Not a fun thing to see when it's a brand new $45K car (I'm not trying to brag). Would I come back? Sure, with maybe an old beater car but definitely not with my new ride. I'd rather take some time off of work to get my car carefully detailed at a better place. read more

My sister accidentally scratched the hood of my mom's Mercedes (trying to remove stubborn blobs of bird poop) and took the car here for a general detailing and to improve or remove the scratches. $150 later the car was really clean, but in spite of their claims that they buffed the hood 3 times, the scratches looked the same. They also couldn't remove the stick-um from a bumper sticker that had been removed. A week later one of the guys who works as a carpenter for my (general contractor) husband noticed the scratches and offered to work on it. Apparently he learned body work and detailing from his dad. After ONE buffing the car looks GORGEOUS & the scratches and sticker stick-um are gone. When my sister told him about the "detailing" she had paid for he asked her if she was sure they were a *professional* detailer. We're now paying him to do our other cars. read more

I was hesitant to get our car detailed (although it was totally gross) simply because it seemed like such an indulgence. But, I finally realized that my husband and I were never going to have the time to do a good job. I called and they fit me in immediately. They are incredibly nice- they offered to drive my husband to the train station so he wouldn't have to walk. They even waited a few minutes after closing for him (he was 5 minutes late). And the car looks AMAZING!! We are tough on our car and it was nasty. They cleaned every little detail, both inside and out. It looks like a brand new car. I cannot believe how much better it looks- I'm so thankful we decided to do this. We will definitely return be repeat customers for them.
