One star because negative stars are unavailable. I took my car this morning, they asked if i wanted full service and i said yes, and told them the car had some stains from a tree, the car is brand new, 5 weeks old. They did a 5 minute terrible job and did not clean the car. They them proceeded to say 23 dollars. I said I would be happy to pay when they cleaned the vehicle. They said it was clean enough, which it was absolutely NOT. They told me to never come back, obviously I will never go back since they didnt clean the car. They said if i wanted the car well cleaned i would have to pay 200 dollars, which is ridiculous. They insisted I pay for a job they didnt do, so again, I said I will pay when you finish cleaning. The manager started yelling at me, saying to pay and leave. I said i would pay when he cleaned, he then proceeded to threaten to physically hit me, lifting his arms as if we were in a boxing match. I wasnt about to fight the manager, especially with another 30 employees there. Three women, employees, told him to stop and got in the way of him trying to hit me. One of them said "you are hurting me, stop!" then another told me to just leave, which I did. The crappiest place on the planet. I immediately went to Lozanos in Palo Alto and they did an impeccable job, as always, and great customer service. I should have never tried a new place. If i wanted a crappy or cheaper job there is a great drive thorugh on Middlefield in Redwood that is 10 bucks and much better than them, and nobody has ever threatened to punch me at either one of these places. I WOULD RECOMMEND TO NEVER GO THERE. The worst experience EVER. read more

Awesome! Got my car detailed at Shine Masters after reading the reviews here and I wasn't let down. They handled everything professionally and I was impressed by their service. I checked about 2 or 3 other places out before I found these guys, and their price was only about half of what the other car wash places charge for detailing. It came to $100 for an exterior detail on my Volvo S60, and the car came out looking beautiful. Turnaround time for me was about 6 hours, but they claimed to be very busy since I got it detailed on the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend. Might be faster on other days. After reading combined 4-5 star and 1-2 star reviews for auto detailers in the area, I came across Shine Masters. The reviews were consistently high. The staff at Shine Masters was very courteous, helpful, and reasonable. I paid $100.00 for the exterior polish package and was very pleased. In fact, so pleased with the level of professionalism, I gave them a $20.00 tip. This place is pretty good for $13. Hand wash your car and then dry or get any other additional services you are interested in. Also very quick, easy to go right on your lunch break. The employees seem nice enough too. I'll return mostly because of the convenience. read more

I have a 10 year old Volvo that has seen better days. I brought it in to see if they could clean it up with a detail and was shocked at the results. They did a great job and it took some work. They turned it around in just a few hours on a Saturday in the summer and the price was reasonable. I will use them again for sure. read more

Not good if you want a thorough detailing. They seem to have done a barely passable job with my brand new black Mustang GT. Why do I say that? After leaving the car with them for most of the day for a "complete" detailing I noticed some faint residual blemishes from bird droppings that hadn't been cleaned off my car. When I pointed this out to James he took out a cloth with some solution and wiped it a few times unsuccessfully. He then said that bird droppings were acidic and had become permanently bonded to my paint. Needless to say I was heartbroken since my car is brand new. Sadly, I bought this theory for a couple of days until about five minutes ago when I decided to try some Meguiar's Quick Detailing Solution and a microfiber cloth on the blemishes. With a few swipes the bird droppings were gone! I feel like I just paid for detailing but got a hand car wash instead. I forgot to mention that the sill along the inside of the trunk lid as well as the edge of the rear windshield where debris tends to collect hadn't even been TOUCHED by the detailer. Both places are full of dust and twigs! I'll post photos as soon as I get the chance. It looks like I'll have to go through those places with a Dyson vacuum cleaner when I get home. I'd rate them one star if I hadn't had a good experience the last time I used them. But maybe I just wasn't as observant then. Update: About an hour after I posted this I got a very nice call from James offering to redo the car since he read my review. He was very sincere about being sure I am ultimately satisfied. I'll probably have to take a rain check on that only because I already took care of the blemishes myself. But I do plan to give them a second chance when the time comes. Maybe I just got them on an "off" day. I've changed my rating to a conditional 3 stars until I get the chance to try them again. read more

These guys are great! I was referred to Shine Masters from a friend of mine. I had my tail lights tinted and some silver tint removed from my windows (the silver tint was not from Shine Masters). I gave it one star because you can't give it no stars we pulled up in our rental Santa Fe small SUV we wanted to get the inside detailed because we took our dogs with us for our vacation this weekend and can not return it with dog hair in it because the rental car place will charge us a ridiculous amount of money to have them detail it everyone here speaks extremely broken English I asked them if they could only detail the inside of my car I said that it was very important that all of the dog hair gets taken off of the inside of the car all of the dog hair must go they seem to completely understand what I was saying to them they spent about 8 minutes vacuuming the inside of our Santa Fe rental and said okay $5 done I thought that that was a great deal to get all of the dog hair out of this car and I had a little trouble believing that it was done so quickly. I checked myself and there was a large amount of dog hair still left I have two pit bulls they have short hair there was not mass amounts of dog hair in here to begin with and when I asked them to get more of the hair off and I told them I would pay them $80 to get all of the dog hair out she said no one of the other girls vacuumed for about 30 more seconds and that was it terrible experience terrible customer service cannot even communicate with the people that work here do not waste your time or money at this facility read more

Well, I was not as impressed with this service as everyone else seems to have been. They did an OK job, but there were some details that were less than stellar. Since I was in a hurry when picking up the car I didn't have time to check the car in detail and have them fix some problems, listed below - but I don't feel I should have to check their work when paying $175 for a detail job. The pros: - They did a great job shampooing the carpet. The carpet looked and smelled much cleaner after the service. - the exterior wash and wax was an a good job - the staff was very friendly and helpful - car was done on time The cons: - there was a dirty film left on all the interior plastic surfaces, as if a dirty rag had been used or a cleaner that left a film and needed to be rinsed and/or buffed. I buffed it off myself with a microfiber cloth, but after paying for a detailing job I should not have to go through the interior hand buffing it myself! - they punched in the "rolltop" style cover to a compartment between the front seats, luckily it was not broken but just bent into the compartment and off its tracks. It took me 20 minutes of fiddling to get the cover back on its track and gliding smoothly. The most annoying part is that they did not point it out to me when I picked up the car - they either did not notice (attention to detail?) or purposely didn't say anything - my guess is the former. - They shampooed the carpet mats and left them in the trunk, but the bottom of the mats were left dirty so when they piled the mats up black marks from the mat on top marked each underneath it (the carpet/mats are beige). They should have cleaned the bottoms. read more

I took my wife's 2007 BMW there last weekend and they did a wonderful job. The car is black and it had some light white over-spray all over it. The finish felt rough with road grime too. Shine Masters did a great job on our two cars and gave us quantity pricing as well. We have an '07 Subaru Outback and an '01 Olds Aurora. The Outback looked like new, outside and in. My wife was very pleased. I'm the picky one, and they did a near-perfect job on the Olds--beautiful wax job, and leather seat cleaning. They barely missed cleaning a couple interior corners, but did them promptly upon showing them. James (Jaime) is very accommodating and seemed to care that we got what we wanted. The car wash service at Shine Masters is not great at all. I took my car in to have it washed and washer didn't do a good job washing it. Most workers don't lack English speaking while assisting English speaking customers. Worst service i've ever been to. I highly would not recommend this car wash. The workers steals people's money by not refunding them whenever the mess up and customers complain about their service and treats customers at the bottom of the barrel. No justice serve! I tried several car washes on El Camino Real and was never entirely happy with the service or attitude. I took the plunge for a full detail after seeing the reviews for Shine Masters and am glad I did! James was very professional when he picked up and dropped off my BMW convertible. I was a little nervous giving it to him, but he reassured me that it would be in good hands. This turned out to be true when he brought it back looking good as new inside and out. It bothered me to find out that they don't recycle or treat their water. All of the chemicals and stuff (like brake dust) go right into the Bay. No matter how convenient and cheap it is, I can't feel good about the impact on the environment. I suggest seeking out a more responsible business. read more

I brought my car here after receiving a call soliciting my business with a special offer of $79.99 for interior and exterior detailing. I returned the call, confirmed the price and what it covered, and made an appointment. When I got there I said "and that's the special price of $79.99 for the interior/exterior detailing, correct?" The guy looked at me like I was nuts and said the price was $120--he would not honor the price I was promised. Needless to say I didn't leave the car. I'll be going elsewhere, even if it costs more than $120. Not a fan of the bait and switch. read more
