This review is for management's attention. I called a day prior to schedule an appointment for regular pedicure and manicure. Appointment time between 10am-10:30am. Arrived 10:15am today. Staff member started on my pedicure. Other staff were busy with their customers. She did a nice job on my toes. I'm pleased with her service, nail color, her attention to detail and cleaning. Thank you. However, my experience with staff member who did my manicure, was an unpleasant experience and therefore, I will never return to this location. She began to remove the old gel from my nails. A woman with no appointment enters the salon inquiring about nail services. The lady working on my nails begins to ask her questions about what services she was seeking. I heard her quote the customer afterwards, around $80 and to come back in twenty minutes. I thought "wow. Is she going to rush her job on my nails for a walk-in asking for extensive services?" Yes, that's what happened. I noticed a change in her pace while working on my nails. She was rushing through manicure. During this time I asked her about payment. Last time I came in was December of last year, and paid with Zelle but usually prefer to pay cash. Asked if they give receipts for cash payments. She said no. I usually ask for receipts to track my expenses. Then asked her is it just Zelle they accept or credit card as well. She said Zelle no cc. Normally don't care for Zelle, prefer Venmo so to pay with cash back. A very nice perk of Venmo. She thought I was getting gel and I said "oh no, not today. Just regular. I'll be back another time for gel." I'm not sure what caused a change in her mood and demeanor but she gets up to get nail polish, comes back to me, gets her phone out and says to me: "You pay now on Zelle for both jobs before I start second one. Before I do job on your nails." The moment was unpleasant, awful feeling, and I was startled. Her tone in delivering her message was very different than from her speech prior to this incident. Her vibe was negative, disrespectful, and rude. I am a patient and graceful person. In that moment I decided to go with Zelle and not give her my cash. I brought $200.00 with me to pay for nail salon and other errands afterwards. I kindly said "ok, sure. Give me a second. "I then showed her the name already saved on my Zelle to confirm it was correct and to show her that this paying customer has paid them via Zelle. She then asked to see transaction after payment so she can take a photo. Cost for regular pedi was $40 and regular mani $30. I was not told to pay in advance on my last visit in December. She did my gel pedi during that visit. She proceeded to polish my nails and did a messy job because the walk-in individual came back exactly in twenty minutes. She finishes her sloppy job on my nails and begins to work with new customer. She comes back to me and before she adds a clear coat I asked her to clean the corners because they were messy so she does. Each moment she speaks to me it's short and as if she is upset. Perhaps she's miserable doing what she does for a living and takes it out on others. Not sure how she would have finished a gel job in twenty minutes if she did a poor job with a regular manicure. I sat for a few minutes to give my nails time to dry. Called an Uber for my next appointment and contemplated if I should even tip this staff member. All my years I have always tipped. Being in the customer service industry for years, I know how important tips are and what they mean to us. I prefer to tip in cash. However, this experience and the awful feelings it created within me, did not deserve more than the cost of a regular manicure. No ma'm. Nah. As my Uber was approaching, I slipped on my sandals, pulled out cash to tip the individual for my pedicure. I was not going to forget her and her quality of service. This is my second awful experience at this nail salon. What they do not know is I was coming here for some time years ago when they first opened. It's walking distance from my home. Would get my eyebrows done, nails, massage chairs were pleasant. Place was always packed. Until one time, a staff member working on my toes asked me to complete her online English exam that was due while doing my pedicure. That shook me and I should have reported her to her manager and posted a Yelp review. Now I'm doing both. Also, a tip for those who do gel pedi and gel mani: it ruins nails! I noticed that after the old gel was removed, there's these lines on my nails as if nails are breaking. Should have taken photos to share on this post. There's one uploaded and I circled the area of concern. Be careful. Nail salons aren't going to tell us the truth. read more

I went yesterday. The ladies were nice and did a decent job; however, I am really paranoid now because I don't think they sanitize their tools. The didn't open a sealed tool thing in front of me. A lot of their tools were just taken from the cart and thrown back in after use. There was nail dust everywhere. The towels they used were unclean as well. It was very dirty. Will not be going again. Also expensive for the state of the facility. The one star is for the nice ladies and decent job. I think the cleanliness needs to dramatically be improved. Came here without an appointment around 11:30AM on a Monday (Memorial Day holiday). I wasn't sure if they'd be busy or open for that matter. I walked in and it was empty to my surprise. I was greeted right away and sat down for a gel manicure. I got chrome, which is $15 extra. One of the nicest manicures I've gotten in awhile. I made an appointment and was seen right away. I was shocked that for a regular gel manicure it was free to take off the previous gel design. And in addition to that they put my hands in hot wax and massaged my hands with hot stones after! A lot of bang for your buck!! This place is walking distance from my job, the first time I went I got a regular polish pedi and was quickly told after they were done that I needed to get off the chair and leave. There was literally no one waiting and I figured I could use the massage chair while I waited for the polish to dry but they immediately shut that idea down and said no. I guess this is how they shame people for not getting gel polish ? Second time I was in a pinch and needed to get my nails done before flying out of town. got an acrylic set and regular pedi. Pedi has super aggressive and the acrylics were badddd. It was simple job with just the rose water polish over. Something I get done at my usual spot all the time and looks great but here it looked awful, it didn't help that they overcharged like no other. $60 and a few days later two of the nails were broken. I love how early they open and late they close. The salon is very clean and the staff is very professional and welcoming. I definitely would recommend making a reservation as they do stay busy. The parking lot is very small but you can usually find street parking. I would recommend Tony for all of your nail needs!! When he does my gel x it doesn't lift for about 3 1/2 weeks but you should always go a little bit sooner than that because your nails do dry out. It's a hit or miss with place. I've been a consistent customer for the last year. Once every two weeks, or 3 weeks max. $80 dollars for a gel mani & gel pedi, $90 total if I include a callus removal. I've had my services done with every single employee, and all of them do a good job; meaning, I like the way my nails look like afterwards. However, they never fail to some how injure me. They are too rough when it comes to pushing and cutting the cuticles or when they use their little machine to remove old gel polish. My goodness, especially when their salon has a rush hour. I just know I shouldn't have to be in a pain to get a "self care" service. So, if you don't mind the small cuts, then this place might be right for you. read more

They always do an amazing job on my nails. I usually get acrylic but now I switched over to doing Gel X. It is pricier than acrylic but I definitely feel like my real nails have gotten stronger and I like the fact that I can get a new set every 3-3.5 weeks with gel ex. No more long and painful removals from acrylic. I needed to get a mani and pedi on a very short time limit. I found this place in a pinch and I was happy to have a spot by just walking in. The salon is fairly small and is cash only. I told them I was on a time crunch and they got me in and out within the time frame. I ended up getting a gel pedi and gel-x nails with a few line designs. If you want designs you have to show a picture for reference. The polish on my toes look good but he did not scrub my heels At All! I guess because I don't have bad feet he didn't try at all. If your expecting a exfoliation on your heels don't get the basic pedi, you won't get a soak, scrub, or massage. My nails are so-so. I have small bubbles on almost each nail. I asked for a coffin shape and got square. Some nails have a lot of bonded gel while others not so much. I found this place in a bind but I wouldn't go back if I had amble time. I didn't see anyone use sterilized tools which made me nervous. And there's no price list for everyone to see so I'm sure each tech makes their own price. read more

Epic disappointment. I came here for a polish change and was charged $55. $50 for the polish change, $5 to replace one of my acrylics (which the nail tech broke off herself). To make matters worse, the "fixed" nail looks awful. She didn't use a nail tip on it, so it's randomly shorter than all of my other nails, and she essentially just glopped on the acrylic without even bothering to smooth it out with the dremel. When I politely called it to her attention that it was way shorter than all of my other nails, she just filed the same nail on the opposite hand. So now I have two short thumb nails (one with way-too-thick lumpy acrylic) and every other one of my nails is long. It looks lumpy and sloppy, like a fungal infection. And they had they had the audacity to charge me $55. I feel so taken advantage of. read more

It's been awhile since I've been here and wasn't bad before. But oh my goodness. Never again. I knew right away I had to read the reviews and leave my own, surprisingly nobody had the same complaints as I do. I really hate to sound rude but I'm being completely honest. Overall, my toes and nails turned out decent, that's me being nice. I got a dip manicure and gel pedi. My big toe was cracked and I was really hoping they could fix it as nail techs have done for me really well at the location I usually go to. They insisted on putting on a humongous tip, I kept telling them it was too obvious and that was exactly what I didn't want. They pressured me saying it would look okay, once filed and shaped. It's so ugly on me. It wasn't even laid on flat, it's lifted and embarrassing like come on. You're okay with leaving it like that? I think it was the same nail tech in the pictures in other negative reviews. I couldn't tell it was lifted until I left, when I was filing it down myself at home. Most importantly, this place is filthy. I immediately noticed how dirty everything was once I sat down. The pedi chair where you place your items on the arm rest had all kinds of leftover mess, dust everywhere, the floors, the TOWEL he placed under my hands when doing my mani. So gross. It's a small place, shouldn't be that hard to maintain. Also, might be even more alarming! Nail tech doing my mani was not wearing a mask, which I don't usually even mind however he was coughing non-stop, clearing his throat constantly. This made me feel so uncomfortable. I was shocked and disgusted. One nail tech with no client was sleeping in the pedi chair next to me, the others were eating chips and just being sloppy at their empty work stations. When I asked for a very short set the nail tech rolled her eyes. I did not get the set that I wanted and my nails are longer than what I usually get. It does not sound right for a set to start at $70, whether acrylic or gel x. That is above price for a nail shop that is in DTLA and has no parking. I went to Shine my Nail and they took off my gel manicure (which cost me $10 extra) they used a Dremel and filed it away instead of soaking off the gel. I got a regular Polish manicure after and when I took off my polish, I noticed they shaved off a very large portion of my nails leaving them bumpy, not smooth and fragile! In this photo, you can see my new nail growing in and it's taller than what they filed away. Horrible. Why would you use an electric file to take off soak off gel Polish? My nails are now ruined. Update... My nails are growing back, but I can't do anything for a few more weeks until they're even. I can't believe this. read more
