The most thorough mani/pedi you will ever receive in your life, I am sure of it. Joanne has, through and through, been very consistent with her service, and commitment to detail. She is also humble and will admit any faults, and will be quick to re-do something for you if she is not happy with it (e.g., say, a noticeable bubble that formed mid-way) -- this is a trait I have never observed in any other nail salon, because, understandably so, bigger salons want people in and out as soon as possible. Another ++ is that she is very hip to new trends, and is personally invested in this industry. A huge underrated trait! Agree with Julian below. The owner is RACIST! I really like Euni who works for her but she treats her so bad. Berates her in front of customers and verbally abusive to her. The owner did my nails once, and they were AWFUL. They started cracking less than three days later and I had to go back for her to fix them. Ever since then, she over charges me $8 a nail for ANY design and says its because I need them thick. She advises my tec to charge me more and I have the receipts to prove it! SHE IS OVER CHARGING ME AND I WILL BE REVERSING ALL PAYMENTS. Whenever I discuss price with my tec, she lowers the music to listen to make sure I AM BEING OVER CHARGED. When she is talking about you, she talks in KOREAN and then goes back to english. When ever she talks to me, she is SO RUDE. She told me... I need to learn how to communicate because she was miss informed. EUNI, pls leave this place. You deserve better. You are so talented and very nice. My girlfriend recently went on her appointment time booked via text message only to find out she was double booked and service was refused. Prior to the appointment, she sent additional messages which were left on read and there were no follow-ups. When she showed up to her appointment time, that was when she was told that she was double booked and there were no attempts to find a solution. Please don't waste people's time. Perhaps invest in an appointment tracking system and outline clearly what the appointment process is other than texting, which is ineffective if you don't respond. read more

I didn't want to do this but my experience was lackluster and super disappointing. It was overpriced for average work and minimal art. I paid $240 for gel removal for both my hands and feet, a regular pedi and gel mani with a VERY simple design. Although the salon appears to be clean, she reuses the same nail file for multiple clients. The tools and supplies looked old/worn. I witnessed the nail tech put a used towel back in the warmer. They also complained how they have cockroaches. The pedi couch was uncomfortable. My back was hurting the entire time. It did not include a massage nor buffing of the heels. I left with a sloppy paint job and uneven nails. The mani. I did not get the artwork I wanted regardless of pictures, text communication and a short convo at the start of my appointment. I requested magnet with 3d squiggles/texture on a couple of nails. I ended up with magnet nails and one holographic sticker. Sloppy paint and file job that felt rushed. I would not return and definitely do not recommend this place. Listen to the reviews. I ignored them hoping for a better experience but feel completely let down. read more

Joanail is situated in a lovely corner of a hair salon and is a one-woman business run by the amazing Joanne~ Her attention to detail and dedication to nail art are unlike other nail technicians'. Overall, the experience was not satisfactory. She started my appointment a half an hour late. I asked for round nails and she made them almond shaped. The designs she did looked really wonky an uneven. The heart and bear design I asked for are noticeably bigger on my right hand compared to the left. Additionally, the color flooded into my cuticles on my ring finger. The design she did does not match my reference pictures either. She was also rushing through the entire appointment because she was running late due to her starting the appointment late. I'm willing to pay for good service, but I feel like the price I paid was not worthy of the set I recieved. $120 felt like a lot, considering my set was rushed and wasn't up to expectations. BEST GEL MANICURE I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE. I'm hesitant to write this because I don't want Joann to get so busy that it's impossible to book but here's why she is the best manicurist I've ever met. I'm VERY particular with what i want. So if your interests are different from mine, my review may apply less to you. I don't have the prettiest hands and when i get a manicure, i don't want cool designs or colors, i want my nails and hands to look healthy, natural, clean and pretty. I have short nail beds so im VERY picky that someone can create an illusion as if i have those gorgeous pointy, cat nail types you see on hand models. I also hate how a gel looks after just one week and you start seeing the growth of your natural nail at the bottom. I also don't like how gels can look thick as if you had acrylics on. If i had pretty hands, i wouldn't get gel manicures but since i need someone to transform my hand, i need someone who understands how to shape and apply nail polish in a very skilled way that compliments my hand. I've been to Hana nails, both Coco nails, bellacures, had japanese calgel and many of the Koreatown spots (i do think koreans do nails best, Japanese second best), and never met someone who shapes, paints and designs like Joann. Its like getting a haircut by a designer who understands how to study your face and cut your hair so it compliments your UNIQUE face. I've never met anyone like that. My nails are so natural, shaped as if i have naturally gorgeous nail beds which make my hand look so much prettier, and she did a natural gradation so you can't tell it's been a week or more. I really hope she doesn't change her incredibly detailed approach as she becomes more successful, which I'm sure she will, but I've never seen ANYONE do what she did for my hands today. She also has the most beautiful nail polish that I've never seen- nail polish that looks sheer yet somehow provides just as much coverage as a non sheer color. Its AMAZING. I TRULY respect anyone that takes their craft so seriously and its obvious Joann takes her nail work so seriously. So knowledgeable about nails and hand designs.Hands down.
