I waited 15 mins for my pedicure service - while I was waiting I decided to add a manicure just a basic manicure; no polish just clean up cuticles and shape; showed her a picture. The woman who did my pedicure did a great job took her time and did a nice job. The woman who did my manicure rushed it, didn't do my cuticles, laughed at the picture and was more interested in chatting in her native tongue the entire time. The massage was horrible. I got the spa pedicure and I enjoyed it! They had availability for a walk in and sat me quickly. The lady was ready to help me, some times there's a delay between sitting and waiting for a person to service you so I was pleased by this. They offered me a drink but I am a Coke Zero or nothing kind of girl and they did not have Coke Zero. Not a problem, I was fine with water. She quickly got to work on my toes, I received all parts of the service listed in their menu. The foot rub was amazing! I have minor ingrown toe nails and she cut them down to where they no longer hurt me so that's a plus! Some places don't know how to handle ingrown toes and either cut too deep or don't cut enough out. She did a great job. I got hot pink toe nail polish and it turned out great! I just moved from Houston and was hesitant to go to any nail salon. I had my go to's in Houston and I'm extremely picky and notice the slightest imperfections in my nails. One of the technicians I went to in Houston recommended me to go here as he knew the owner. He suggested I go to abby, Bella, or Jody. I decided to go with abby for a dip manicure. I was extremely impressed to start off with because I was in between two dip nail colors. She swatched them for me on these acrylic tips to make sure I knew how the color would turn out since sometimes the powder can look different in the tub. I didn't really like either, and so I told her I needed a shade in between the two I had originally been stuck between. She returned with more options. Abby was extremely gentle with my nails and always asked me If I liked the shape and how my nails looked. Some technicians don't bother to check up on how YOU feel about your nails and make you feel hesitant to say anything. I was extremely comfortable the whole time. The filing down of the powder impressed me as well! Some people leave you with bumpy dip powder finish but I'm glad to say my nails are smooth. Wonderful job. Overall, I definitely will come back. By far the best quality nails I've had done! I went to Tiff, and she was both beautiful and very, very good. The place is brand new, and all modern. Whoever designed it, actually knew what they were doing. There are no dated chandeliers, and vents visibly set along the tables to help the air quality. I've had dip manicure on and off for the last few years. I've tried 5-6 places during this time. I would come out knowing they did their best, but also feeling like the work was always B level. I used to do nails, and I'm an artist, so I know I have extremely high expectations. I also have a keen eye. I don't have pretty hands, so my nails need to enhance my hands, but not actually draw attention to them. Tiff really surprised me. She started with my cuticles and finished with a deep massage. I have never received that with a dip manicure, and it was great! She also made the dip both thin and strong, and she did the best shaping job I've received. There are at least 5 nail salons at this intersection, so pay attention to the name! It's called "Shine," and it's on the Northwest corner of Preston and Forest. This was the absolute worst experience I've ever had. Bless the little old lady who worked on me but I think she needed glasses. Shame on me for not paying attention. I didn't look at my feet until I left and at that point it was too late. I don't live close by so I couldn't just go back and ask them to fix it. The nail polish I chose was a bright spring orange as we were heading to Florida for vacay the next day. It was Opi brand and the lady said that it's $5 extra because it lasts longer. What??? So I came in for a pedicure, and the young lady that did my pedicure ran my water. I asked her to make the water hot (my preference for pedicures). She continued to run luke warm water instead. I asked her again and she said it will get warmer. After the pedicure tub was full she turned it off (water was still Luke warm). I repeated that I'd like the water hotter. She tested the water and said "well it's warm to me". She then scooped a few bowls of water out and put more warm water in the tub. Which did nothing. I proceeded to enjoy a Luke warm pedicure that I didn't enjoy. She then insisted on taking my credit card while I was still in the chair without even giving me a total first. She brought me the card back and stood over my shoulder as I signed and filled in my tip portion. I won't be back. read more

I came to get my nails done before a few events. I chose a gel manicure so it would last for two to three weeks. I am not happy with how my nails are holding up. I've had cheaper gel manis with better results, but this place was close by. I noticed a problem after my nail tech put on the base coat. The polish crinkled up after I put it under the UV light (which I turned on half the time because the tech wasn't paying attention). I asked if that was normal and he said he'd do another coat. Ok, he does this every day. I'll trust him. Big mistake. He put on another coat and it was better, but not fixed. He then proceeded to put on three coats of colored polish to hide the bad first layer plus a top coat. The polish is so thick it dented after I left. I will not be coming back. I should have gone with my first instinct and insisted he restart. read more
