I was a little bit nervous when reaching out to car, shipping companies, especially since I needed to move my car from Florida to California. I had heard some horror stories about hidden fees, unresponsive handlers, damaged vehicles, and delayed pickup/drop off times. However, I was pleasantly surprised with my experience with ship a car. Although there was some difficulty with obtaining a driver due to the memorial weekend, high diesel costs, and recent driver regulations, Steve handled it all with stride. He was extremely responsive and transparent with the costs and pick up time. I had no issues with the driver we ended up going with. My car came back with no damage and remained the same as when he picked it up. There was no hidden fees and the amount that I paid the driver was the exact quote that I had signed up for. I'm giving SAC a 1 Star due to the transporter they assigned me (guilty by association). SAC (itself) were professional and courteous. Unfortunately, if they assign "Dones Auto Transport Inc:" to you, MAKE SURE you refuse them! The driver was nice enough but didn't speak english - per the dispatcher. And the dispatcher was anything but professional. I'm all for supporting small businesses but this husband/wife team were the absolute worse in professionalism and communication! This is why they probably don't have a profile under Google or Yelp! I was promised 5 star service but received the most bootlegged service ever experienced! Wednesday, March 23: Received a call from the dispatcher "the driver (Javier) is confirmed to pick up my car on Friday (March 25) & would call me 3 hours out." Friday, March 25 Driver was a no call/no show. Attempted to make contact via text and cell to no avail. Dispatcher finally calls back late afternoon - Driver stuck at DMV all morning renewing his registration & would pick up the car Saturday morning by approximately 8am. Saturday, March 24: 9 am, No word from driver/dispatcher. Several calls/texts made & at 12.30 pm, dispatcher text's back stating her son had the phone & she didn't realize I called. Almost an hour later I'm told the driver caught a flat but was approximately 45 miles away. 3pm, driver arrives & picks up the car. Tuesday, March 29 5 pm, dispatcher texts me - driver needs to drop off "tonight" as another driver injured his finger. I asked for a time, she provided a two hour window which I refused due to the inconsistent communication & lack of confidence. She then became obnoxious and even sent me a photo of the injury (see attached - NOT FOR THE SQUEAMISH) & demanded I make arrangements for a late drop off. After A LOT of back and forth, she agreed to a Wednesday morning drop off. Wednesday, March 30 The driver makes contact stating he was onsite & unloaded the car only to find out he was at the wrong location. It took him another hour to get to the right destination. Did my homework in searching for an auto transport carrier to pick up and deliver my new car from out of state, as this was my first time ever shipping a car this way. I found Ship A Car had great reviews, and once I contacted for a quote, wound up getting contacted right away, with a good price quote that was fair, consistent communication and overall just really great service! I dealt with a gentleman named Bob, who was very helpful and pleasant to deal with. The only minor snafus, was waiting to hear back from the driver with a status update on when delivery might happen and not hearing from him right away, additionally, when my car was delivered by the actual transporter, there was a miscommunication about using a money order for the final payment. The driver contacted his boss and rectified the issue within a few short minutes. So ultimately not a a big deal, but helpful to know to ensure all are on the same page with payment methods allowed, expected, etc. Overall though, excellent service, the delivery was very quick (approx 2 days), highly recommend and will definitely use them again! I was trying to find a reliable company to deliver my car from where I live in Key West, FL to Miami Gardens. I had a very positive and professional experience by Bob Moran. He was extremely responsive by text and phone calls. He managed to find a driver who was willing to deliver it at the time and location signing 24 hours notice. He also contacted drivers to do it at the best possible price. I'm very happy with the service and highly recommend it. DO NOT SHIP YOUR CAR WITH THIS COMPANY. We shipped our son's truck from Texas to California. The driver was supposed to deliver the truck in the afternoon but waited until it was dark when my son could not see all of the damage that was done to the hood of his car. Several dents had been covered up with spray paint! A body shop said the dents are consistent with a chain banging up the hood. The driver is completely unresponsive. Ship A Car has been uncooperative and will not take responsibility for its drivers. You should find another shipping company! read more

Like another reviewer on Yelp, I had an awful experience with this company as well. I dealt with Mike Logan and at first, when he wanted my business, he was kind and patient. Once he got my credit card info, the tables definitely changed. He booked my car for the wrong week, he stopped returning calls, his mailbox was constantly full. The driver they sent was completely rude. He refused to pick up my car at my home stating the complex wasn't large enough to maneuver his truck. I offered up THREE nearby locations and he refused. He would only pick up a few miles down the road. Normally this would have been ok but it was the middle of the day so I didn't have a ride back and I would have had to walk back down a super busy road on the shoulder as there were no sidewalks. I was super upset but reluctantly agreed and finally found a friend to leave work early so I wasn't kidnapped, or run over, on the way home. Then, here's the worst part.....when my car was delivered, it was so filthy we couldn't really see what condition the car was in. My father took my car to have it washed and they refused to wash it. There was this mysterious black liquid that had leaked all over the trunk and down the side of my BRAND NEW LEXUS. They hand washed the car TWICE and the substance had eaten away the top coat on my car. I called Mike Logan to see what I needed to do. No call back. I called until he finally answered and he gave me some song and dance how this is rare and never happens, blah, blah, blah. He said he would get the driver's insurance info and call me right back. You guessed it....no call back. I had to practically stalk Mike the next day and he finally answered and was so rude and condescending on the phone. He offered no apology, told me I needed to calm down and literally told me "this stuff happens". THIS WAS THE WORST SHIPPING EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED. DO NOT WORK WITH DANA! I work for a international corporation and needed a car shipped for an employee. Dana was recommend to me, so I chose to use her for my shipping. She incorrectly booked the shipping with a "cash on delivery" carrier instead of a carrier that took payment on a credit card up front. This created a huge legal problem with our company, as we cannot process cash payments. Dana was absolutely no help, saying her hands were tied with her company policy and that I was on my own to figure it out with the carrier. She admitted to make the mistake, and still would not do anything to assist in fixing her mistake. I am now paying the balance out of my own pocket, so the carrier receives his money in a timely manner as he should for providing stellar service. It is not his fault she was incompetent. AVOID DANA AT ALL COSTS!! if you must use this company, pick someone who pays attention to details and does not lie to the customer for her own benefit. Made arrangements (signed a contract) first wk in February 2023, to have my car shipped on 3/30/2023. Several emails with Steve, indicating not to worry that it could be just a week or even a few days before the pick up date, before pick up date before final instructions were given to me. The day before pick up was scheduled I spoke with Steve, and of course he told me that the carriers wanted more money--but he was still confident a carrier would "pick it up", and not to worry. Ship a Car was used to facilitate a boat shipment from NJ to Florida...Quote was $1200 and I accepted to get transport within a 2 day window pickup..My ShipaCar rep Paul Sinclair contacted me and stated he had found a driver, but driver was requesting a additional $50 for pick-up..I agreed to get boat picked up and remain on schedule. Boat was to be picked up on a Monday or Tuesday and was instead scheduled for a Wednesday pick-up around 1pm by driver. Marina owner waited and no one showed or called. Thursday afternoon came and driver was still a no show and I was contacted by Marina owner.. I contacted my Ship a Car rep and was told he would check with driver and contact me. No call ever was made back to me by Ship a Car and I ended up contacting driver myself. He stated he was running late and would be able to pick boat up first thing Friday morning...I informed driver I had paid the extra $50 that rep requested from me for driver to facilitate transport as requested.. Driver stated he did not request any $50 increase for shipment as it was posted as $1000 and he had accepted offer as posted. I contacted Ship a Car as marina owner contacted me stating no one was there Friday morning and had to leave. I received no call back from Ship a Car rep Paul Sinclair as lady answering phone told me he would call as soon as he was off phone with another customer..Driver contacted me around 10:30am saying he was there and waiting to get boat...Marina owner arrived and boat was loaded onto multi car vehicle with boat trailer wheels off transport vehicle ramps and being supported by boards under axles and transported... I never received a returned call from Ship a Car rep as I had questions not only of why I was not informed of any shipment delay but also of driver stating he never asked for the additional $50 amount Paul Sinclair had stated was requested by driver. Needless to say, Never again will I use this company as they pick carrier and leave you to deal with any transport issues and possibly lie to get more money from you by blaming transport drivers for up charges. Since I had to constantly intervene and contact driver myself for answers, I was better off using a self service company so I could have picked my own carrier and skipped the middle man ShipaCar. Once ShipaCar received their $250 deposit I basically was on my own anyways. ShipaCar supervisor contacted me within 15 minutes of this posting apologizing and assured me that my incident did not reflect how there business was run. He stated missed opportunities on my rep was not addressed that should of been done by them and not myself as that was their responsibility. He also refunded $50 that was in question of origination. Riding my motorcycle cross-country from Florida, up to Jasper Canada, and down to California put a hurting on my hands. I was looking to cut out the San Francisco section of our trip and have the bike shipped to Carson City NV. I needed the bike there in two weeks; by the end of September. Two major shippers said they could not get the bike there until October. Then I had the good fortune of connecting with Ship a Car Inc. Steve Goodman handled my request and said they could do it. I was a bit nervous as Steve took a couple days to arrange transport and call me. But he came through and got the bike transported quicker than I would have expected. Since we were already in San Francisco, I called the shop in Eureka CA where I had left the bike for pick-up. As Steve had said, the bike was transported in an enclosed truck. The shop told me the driver was very professional and took a long time to make sure my bike was loaded and secured properly. I then called the shop in Carson City where the bike was to be delivered. They told me the bike was already there, that the driver had taken great care with my bike, and that he seemed very professional. This was a very difficult time-frame to deal with. This was not a pre-scheduled transportation issue. It was a last-minute decision on my part. The location of the pick-up shop in Eureka CA was only an every two-week area for the two other shippers I had tried. Steve Goodman and Ship a Car Inc came through. They saved our vacation and I am grateful, extremely grateful for the professionalism displayed. I would use their service again... in a heartbeat. read more

Do not recommend using shipacar! Unreliable, horrible communication. I contacted them a month in advance to schedule a pickup on Friday, July 15th. A week before the pick up day, I called Paul Sinclair to confirm the details and he told me that either he or the driver will get back to me on a Wednesday or Thursday (1-2 days prior to the pick up). This never happened. I called Paul again on Thursday afternoon since the car was supposed to be shipped the next day and he still had no details, and again told me that I will get a call tomorrow. I asked him if it is even going to happen tomorrow since he still has no driver for me, and he said "I sure hope so, and if not, they will get it Saturday". Nobody came Friday or Saturday, moreover Paul has not been picking up his phone when I kept trying to get in touch with him on a Saturday, despite having told me he is gonna be working. On the following Monday, I get an email that my card is getting charged $325 and Paul sends me an email that the car will be picked up Tuesday, which it still didn't. Not only that, but the price has also been increased by 125 dollars. When I asked him why, he said no driver won't pick it up for a lower price. This is despite having signed a contact with a lower price indicated in it. Thats exactly what shipacar does they low ball the price to have you sign with them, and once they have you they increase the price. At this point, I had no intentions having any further business with this company, and was gonna directly contact the drivers. The only good thing is that the driver who ended up picking my car got in touch with me, and was very responsive with clear and honest communication. The car got shipped put 6 days later than original planned date. 325 dollars that shipacar charged me was a total waste of money as they have not delivered the service they promised. Then said he couldn't tow me because my brakes. Took $400 more from me and said to contact the company to get my money back. Well the driver and this company seemed sketchy to me so I called another company to come out and they towed it on time, with no issue, no complaints about my brakes, and for much less. When I called SHIP A CAR INC. to see if I could get any bit of the $700 I wasted on them back they said they'd find out and get back in contact with me. AFTER 2 MONTHS FROM DELIVERY: Damaged Motorcycle, Underinsured Insurance Coverages & Non Responsive Owners Ship A Car Inc., utilizes SUB CONTRACTORS, to make their Deliveries, which maybe not unusual, just be prepared to DEAL WITH THE SUBCONTRACTOR IF THERE IS A PROBLEM, because SHIP A CAR INC...IS OUT AT THAT POINT!! I arranged through SHIP A CAR, for delivery, of my Father's "Classic" pristine 1985 Honda V45 Magna with 33K Miles. Pickup was immediate, but bike was unprofessionally prepped for delivery, with its 550 lb of weight, sitting solely on its KICKSTAND the whole trip to Dallas. The ups and downs of roads, between Denver to Dallas, resulted in the KICKSTAND BEING TORN OFF ITS FRAME. That side of the frame, also circulates Radiator Coolant, from the front radiator to the water pump, in front of the rear wheel. There is not enough metal left to weld it back on BUT even a simple rewelding of the kickstand to the frame, could compromise its double wall design. The FIX, is to have the damaged left of the frame, replaced with a new one, or as close as you could find its 30 year old aged used one on eBay or other classic parts store. Otherwise, its a TOTAL because the frame has been damaged. CHASING INSURANCE: No problem, accidents happen and that's why I chose Ship A Car Inc. They are not the least expensive, $650 with $200 "Commission" to them on my Card and another $450 CASH to the Driver upon Delivery. But as they PROMISED on their Website, "Our shipping experts will do the job right or make it right." And many other claims, to give you a good feeling. So, they immediately sent me a copy of the Sub Contractor's Insurance information, as it became apparent...I WOULD BE THE ONE CHASING THE DELIVERY DRIVER..NOT THEM. So, I called Drivers Insurance Company to begin the process of FILING A CLAIM. They said an Adjuster would call me in 2 days. Umpteen phone calls later, they advised that the Delivery Company in Denver used to deliver the Bike, is being UNCOOPERATIVE and can't get the VIN # of the Truck to see if its own their Policy as even COVERED? ONE MONTH LATER: NO PROGRESS, Insurance Co tells me " IT PROBABLY WONT BE COVERED ANYWAY " because "EXCLUSIONS WITHIN THE POLICY AGAINST BREAKAGE"!?! What good is Delivery Insurance if it does not cover that?!?! With the exception of a few follow up " HOWS IT GOING" calls from Ship A Car Inc, they ARE NOT RESPONDING TO MY EMAILS. I did speak ultimately speak with a Manager, Brian at Ship A Car, whom did Refund their $200.00 Commission for all the hassle of me having to chase the Insurance Claim. 2 MONTHS LATER: the FINAL DETERMINATION of the Insurance Company is, that MY DAMAGE CLAIM WILL NOT BE PAID?!?!? How do you give your property to a Company and THEY DAMAGE IT and they HAVE NO responsibility TO PAY FOR IT!?!? AMAZING!!! So NO INSURANCE, UNRESPONSIVE OWNERS AND IM LEFT WITH DAMAGED MOTORCYCLE TO FIX MYSELF!!! PLUS, I Have a Motorcycle that takes more than ONE PERSON TO PARK ON ITS CENTER STAND ONLY, so rules out that "getting away from it all" feeling that a Motorcycle supposed to provide. Have used Ship A Car twice now. Once you contact them, they are very quick to get back to you with a quote and friendly banter. In essence, you tell them where you want the pick up, and where you want the drop off and they then find a car shipper to facilitate the job. After the pick up date is confirmed...the Ship a Car folks disappear and don't respond to either email or phone calls. I got a call one day from the shipper saying they were on the way to pick up may car...a day earlier than agreed. The car was not ready and they would not pick up on the date previously agreed. While Ship A Car finally responded after numerous emails and phone calls with another name of an alternative shipper...I had to arrange all the logistics myself. Car was finally delivered and Ship A Car never followed up. Second car was very similar although this time shipper called to say they'd pick up car two days early and if that didn't work for me, that was my tough luck. No contact by Ship A Car about issue. Basically, Ship A Car gets paid to connect you with a shipper and you are are your own. Good luck. read more

During the process of having my vehicle transported from OK to VA my keys were handed to another customer at another location. He then was unsure who's keys he had then handed to me and asked me to continue to try them. The driver then acted as if he was doing me a favor by giving me the other individuals number so I could see if he had my keys. I was able to track down my keys with this number and also able to return the keys I had to its owner. The driver was helpful in pushing my vehicle into the garage at least. read more

My situation is a little bit special, in early May, I made a deal with Justen that the release date will be July 10th, however, on June 19th, my schedule has changed and I need my car to be transported as soon as possible. I can't say enough good things about this company and specifically Bob Moran. Bob has now helped me with shipping two of my family's vehicles (MI to CA in 2016 and CA to NY). The first time I worked with him he was saving me because another company never showed up. And today when I worked with him he helped me get our car to NY where my fiancé has just started his new job. Fortunately, we didn't use Ship a Car, Inc. We used a different provider instead, and therein lies why I am writing this review. I put out a bid request with half a dozen auto transport companies. Ship a Car was among the respondents. I was contacted by Nelson and he provided a price in line with all of the other pricing we received. My business partner chose another shipper purely based on his previous experience with that other carrier. No harm, no foul. Not every company can win every bid. This is where Ship a Car's true colors emerged. I received numerous callbacks from Nelson over the ensuing 5 days. The first was to inform me that he saw I had chosen a competitor which he identified by name. I found this to be a bit unnerving as it was frankly none of his business whom we had chosen and why. He went on to tell me that this competitor had a reputation for bait-and-switch on price and that I should expect to get a surprise price increase after my vehicle was picked up and en route. I diplomatically thanked Nelson for his concerns, but that we were sticking with our chosen vendor. He called me again the following day to state that he saw our transport job was still listed on the boards and that our vehicle had not been picked up. He implied we were being deceived by our vendor. I explained that we were aware that the vehicle hadn't been picked up yet and we weren't in any hurry, again being as diplomatic and polite as is professionally possible. A subsequent call abruptly started with, "So, have they hit you with a price increase yet?" Then today, Nelson calls me yet again to discuss my vehicle transport job. Before he could get too deep into his smear campaign, I interjected that we had made our decision, we were comfortable with it and it was unnecessary for him to call us every day...CLICK. He hung up on me. If this is the sort of tactics one can expect for NOT doing business with Ship a Car, imagine what it must be like for them to actually be in possession of your vehicle and have a problem arise that needs a resolution. In a word, these people are bullies. My father and I owned a small trucking company for over 30 years. We were not auto carriers, but instead we served port logistics out of Savannah, GA. Our calling card was courtesy and we bent over backwards to make folks feel comfortable working with us. I saw my father eat unexpected costs routinely rather than nickel and dime the customer as he felt that our reputation was worth far more than an occasional $100 clerical error. ** HONEST Review! This is my first ever review on any business. I am taking the time to share my terrible experience regarding Ship-A-Car Inc. I thought they were a superior company - I was left with anxiety for the entire process. More voicemails and "i'll get back to you" then REAL people. My experience with Steve G. was at first pleasant and I was consistently told things were under control and I should be at ease. Even after explaining that car shipping was new to me, I was ensured that Steve and Ship-a-car would make the process smooth. This information was EXTREMELY FALSE. I am now being told: Once we get the truck driver, the rest is up too you. Things go wrong, it is not our responsibility. It's like if a plane doesn't take off, it's not our fault - what??? CONS: -No communication/incorrect windows of time for pick-up & drop-off -was called late at night by the Truck Driver telling me they CANNOT ACCESS RESIDENTIAL BLOCKS. I was not told this prior and my father-in-law had to drive the car to a new destination and take an UBER home. -No one in the office seems to communicate needs with eachother PRO: -They will make you FEEL like everything is under control. I still do not understand WHY I paid this company for a cross-country move costing me over $1,000. I paid more than what I should of paid other companies for the sense of reliability I had during our initial conversations. For weeks they have been trying to get in touch with the owner that is "out of town" "in and out of the office" to discuss some sort of compensation - but now, i'd rather just put out the review for any new potential consumers. I recently hired Ship-a-Car to transport a car cross country. I had used another company several times in the past, but a friend recommended Ship a Car and they were substantially less expensive so I gave them a try. Everything was done as promised without any complications. The car was delivered in good condition. I now see that the reviews are quite mixed. Terrible service. They did not deliver on there promise of transporting a trailer for me. The day of the scheduled pick up I was told after I called 4 times that the original driver did not have room for my trailer! It was a miscalculation on the drivers part. Of course they put the blame on there carrier. My trailer still sits in Tampa now while I find another shipper. Stay away from this company. read more

We went with Ship A Car as a second choice because the company we usually use couldn't pick up my son's car on the only day he was in N.C. Not only did we pay $250 more but we were promised the car within 10 days as our son needed it to start a new job. The car was 4 days late arriving and we had to contact the delivery company they contracted out to in order to get information as to the delivery!Yvonne promised me she would call me back with updates and NEVER did. The only one who followed through was Fernanda who covered when Yvonne was not around. When I initially told Yvonne we use another company even when the ad said they would match pricing, she said they were "The Best and You get what you pay for". Because we were running out of options we went with Ship A Car.....NEVER AGAIN!!!!! We should have flown to N.C. and driven the car to California! read more

I would like to thank Joseph and the owner of the company for all their hard work. I would specifically like to thank Joseph for putting up with me and the mess that was created by a driver who was suppose to pick up my car but they decided to cancel literally with less than 24 hour notice when it was time to ship my car. I got really stressed because I needed it to get done since I am moving. However, Jospeh really handle the situation with professionalism and made sure my car got shipped the next day and even got me a better deal because my car is getting to Texas sooner than it was originally going to get there with the first driver. The driver who picked up my car the next day was extremely professional and communicated to me the entire time. I would 100 % recommend this company to anyone and ask for Jospeh because he is the best!!!! :) read more

I used them to transport a repo'd car from Michigan to North Carolina. This means I had to be a middle man between the shipping company and the repo yard, it was no walk in the park, but thanks to Theo at ship-a-car he was very patient and worked very hard to get me a driver to pick the car up (very difficult time slot for pick-up from repo yard) I couldn't have done it without his help and his determination to provide me with the best customer service possible. This company is a joke. I was trying to work with them to ship my bike and they quoted me a price ($250 to them and 600 to driver) and I signed the agreement at that price. They found me a driver who wanted more money so the agent called me to try and talk me into paying more. After I told him no he told me the regular price would work but I would now pay $150 to them and $700 to driver. They sent me a new contract to sign but refused to cancel the other contract before I signed the new one. They also charged my credit card with my authorization. I would not recommend them to anyone. read more
