I went to this Shipley's location in Buda since I live near there and Buda is generally a friendly town. I decided since it's close I'd buy my grandkids a dozen donuts 4/26/26 and I felt like I was being rushed, the person waiting on me was rude and not friendly. I don't know if she woke up on the wrong side of bed or she just doesn't want to be there. A little boy about 8 is working there too. There was some shouting by what looked like a grandmother. Not a pleasant experience. I am sure there are friendlier Shipley donuts elsewhere and the donuts tasted stale, not fresh. I won't recommend this Shipley. Go elsewhere. read more

The quality of thier Kolaches has gone down the toilet! Everything used to be loaded and blissful. Now it's empty and sad.

I had an iced crème filled donut. The outer layer of the donut is not iced only the top. The top icing was chocolate. The donuts are pretty big. My parents each got kolaches. They both said they were not good. My mom's barely had any meat in it. The service was okay the lady was not mean but she was not nice either. We went through the drive through so there was not really an ambiance. But I will say the menu outside is kind of mixed up and we did not know what was what. So instead we just asked. Our main complaints are the cinnamon rolls. They are always lacking in frosting very badly. And a couple times including today there's been absolutely no cinnamon in the cinnamon rolls. It literally tastes like really dried out bread with a small amount of icing on top. Also the nuts are always inconsistent. One roll will have an enormous amount and another will have like 3. It's supposed to be cream cheese frosting but they keep putting a tiny amount of icing. They don't sell white cream filled bars...They use to but they were literally empty. No joke, completely empty with three tiny blobs of frosting on top. At one point I asked for a white cream filled bar and the lady in the back looked completely confused in what she was even doing, and said she made them and pointed at three different places but they were all Bavarian, then the lady in the front and the back said they'd make me one well when I got home it was actually a bavarian cream bar that they added a bunch of white cream to and it was like the bar exploded. read more

The glazed donuts are good, but so many poorly done donuts aside from that. Seems they gave up on white cream filled bars. Quite a few look pretty on display, but it's like that commercial, "hey! where's the cream filling?" read more

This location no longer has the big earl! They said it's because the cost went up and was not a big seller! The Brodie location in Austin said they will never get rid of the big earl and the cost of everything has gone up! Also the the old fashioned cinnamon rolls at this location is sub par, I put a picture of what the should look like from the Brodie location! The first time I went they were out of kolaches at 8:30am. The second time again out of kolaches and cake donuts around the same time. Decided to give them one more chance, again out of cake donuts but I finally got a kolache. Absolutely disgusting. The dough was raw and the kolache was cold. I don't know how a business is run like this. You wait in line anywhere from 10 to 20 mins to be told they're out of everything. I asked the girl at the window why they are always out of stuff, why not make more?? She said they do later in the afternoon. What? So you go the whole morning without donuts and kolaches? I finally decided to try the new Shipley's Donuts in Buda. Boy!! was it a waste of money. I'm totally surprise I am saying this because every other Shipley's I've been to was great. But not this one.... Kolache's were these big long ones and when I asked about the smaller ones. I was told they only serve the larger ones - 1- with the same size sausage just lot of bread & 2- one with jumbo sausage (these were the cashiers words). Secondly I ordered 3 donuts which were horrible. Glazed donuts were very dry and the Bavarian cream donut was dry and very oily. So sad because Shipley's are usually delicious. I will continue to go to Fresh Donuts on Main St. Buda. Fresh all the time!!! read more

I went to the store this morning to get some kolaches. I told them I wanted to kolaches with no cheese. I asked for the Earl Campbell kolaches which evidently they no longer make. They said they make some sort of Shipleys large kolache. I said fine but no cheese. I got my two kolaches in the drive thru and departed. When I took a bite I found cheese. I went back and spoke to the employee who proceeded to argue with me saying they only make the big kolaches with cheese and since I ordered the big ones I was going to get them with cheese even though I told her twice "no cheese." She proceeded to get upset and slam the kolache display door and i told her if she was going to have a horrible attitude I would just get my money back and go to another shop down the street King Donut where they don't give me a bad attitude. Judging by the fact they have 2.5 stars on Yelp i suppose I am not the only one who had a poor experience. I even called Shipleys Corporate Office and got a voice mail. Needless to say I didn't leave one so I left a nice review on Yelp. read more

I am super disappointed in this location. I was really excited to have a shipleys in Buda but they have missed the mark here. I stop by the Brodie location in austin regularly and they have so fresh and delicious donuts and kolaches. This location in buda feels and tastes like a knock off. The donuts are not fresh, rather taste old, the kolaches breading is different in some way and not light and fluffy like others. Not sure what is going on at this location or why it is so different than the other locations but i will be going out of my way to not come here and visit the known good locations. read more

Same experience as most everyone else. I normally get cream cheese filled at The other Shipleys... they don't make them here. Then the Asian girl points at the menu which says chocolate cream.. I was a little reluctant to try this Shipley's because of the earlier reviews, but after eating breakfast at a nearby diner, we decided to stop in. I was the only customer at that time so I can only comment on the service by saying they were very friendly. I asked for a cream-filled bar and a plain glazed donut. My husband enjoyed the glazed and my filled bar was delicious. It was lightly crispy on the outside and the cake part was quite light and airy, not at all heavy and overly filling. There was plenty of cream filling and chocolate icing. We will definitely try them again. I think it is definitely worth a trip from Kyle. read more
