Stuffed French toast with pistachio cream

First-Time Visit - Highly Recommended! I stopped by for the first time after reading the reviews, and I'm so glad I did. Everything had that wonderful homemade feel. I ordered : Afghan Latte, Shri Chai, Stuffed French Toast with pistachio cream, and the Afghan Omelette. The stuffed French toast was outstanding -- perfectly sugar-coated and served with a rich homemade caramel syrup. It paired beautifully with fresh fruits on the side. The Afghan omelette was equally impressive: fresh spinach, goat cheese, and tender, well-cooked beef all came together in a flavorful, satisfying dish. Both drinks were excellent and full of authentic taste. I will definitely be back soon to try more items from the menu. Warm, comforting flavors and generous portions -- a real gem!

We came here around 3pm on a Saturday, it wasn't completely packed but did get more people as we dined. Our party of 3 was sat in the back in the corner. We didn't leave until 5:30...and that wasn't by choice. What we ordered: - Shakshuka - Panini Pressed Turkey Sandwich - Chicken Caesar salad wrap - A pot of chai We had to wait long to order but what's worse is our food took forever to come out and they all came out at completely different times. It's really confusing why it took so long because my Chicken Caesar salad wrap came out first, then later the Shakshuka, then much later Panini Pressed Turkey Sandwich. How long does it take to make a turkey sandwich realistically? The food isn't bad exactly but nothing special. We all waited to eat together but it was such bad timing with no apologies. I know their kitchen closes between 4-5 but if the order is put in it should go through right? No explanation whatsoever. We also had to stop someone for water refills. The best thing about the experience was the chai. It was tasty and was kept warm with a candle. Nice touch. I would not likely be back or recommend it until the kinks are worked out.

A cute spot in central NJ! Loved the interior - with the greenery and natural light. My friend loved the refresher she tried and I had their iced chai with cardamom cold foam. We didn't try the food so can't share on that. Service was good!

Shir Chai Co is one of the best brunch spots in Jersey. I came here three times just for the chicken and waffles which came out fresh with flavorful, crispy chicken tenders. Their chai is always consistent and served hot in a pretty teapot. Pancakes are fluffy, not overly sweet, and my second favorite item on their menu. Lamb sliders and the breakfast burrito were also tasty if you're a meat lover. Overall amazing decoration, atmosphere and service. This place is perfect for families, catching up with friends, a late chai spot and for Muslims looking for a place to eat good food that is guaranteed halal.

Very nice interior, a place you'd like to sit and savor your food. Pricey menu but we liked our pancakes and the iced latte with vanilla cold foam. I'll definitely be back to try the savory items.

Came here for chai and another day for brunch and both were excellent! The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The food was delicious as well. We ordered the chicken and waffles and the cheesesteak and both tasted great. The restaurant itself is clean and stylish. Wishing them best of luck in the opening!!

The tikka masala isn't what I expected (was expecting tomato base), still good though. I'll update my review once I'm back home to show the tikka masala. 10/10 would be back to try the other drinks and desserts. They were out of the honey cake when I went. I picked a different dessert instead, only to find out later that there was actually one honey cake left after all. A quick double-check before saying an item is unavailable would have saved a little confusion (and would have gotten me to my honey cake faster!). That said, the iced vanilla latte was good, though I noticed there seemed to be quite a bit of room left at the top of the cup. I'm not expecting it filled to the brim, but it felt like there could have been a little more coffee for the price. The atmosphere was nice and relaxed. Overall, it was an okay experience. I'd consider coming back for the coffee, though next time I might just place a to-go order.

We watched as our order sat ready on their counter for 5+ minutes while the cashier preferred to take the time to clean/fix the coffee maker and wipe the counter instead, before going to get our food. Even the cook tried a few times to flag the ready food for her but she ignored them. The manager was overseeing everything (and had directed her to focus on the coffee maker) but refused to step in to help out the cashier, take 30 seconds to quickly process our order, and let us go. I write this review as I sit and eat my cold breakfast sandwich infused with gravel (as the aluminum foil that they use to wrap the sandwiches are very flimsy and it broke/fell apart instantly when I tripped and fell ON their property/parking lot while exiting and horribly scraped my knee.) BagelMart needs to work on prioritizing service to the customer and improve on being able to handle more than just 2 customers at a time. And get better aluminum foil. But hats off to the cooks who make a good breakfast sandwich despite these odds, and the only reason that this review remains at 2 stars.

Now I, living outside of Hidden Lake, wondered what is going on until I realized that there indeed exists a small town center inside there with indeed a pizzeria and a deli & convenience store. That place was Welsh Farm. Walking inside, the interior screams 80s/90s. It's not the cleanest and the interior could use some TLC. But it has the quick essentials you could need. More importantly, it has the grill. I immediately got the vibe of being back in Sunnyside Queens and going into one of the random bodegas or delis on the corner to grab something quick. What I also didn't realize is the numerous sandwiches and other items they make. There's just one guy there (I think Vim?), but I heard great things about the Paneer Tikka sandwich. Therefore, I ordered it. It was cooked on demand. Now to be honest, the sandwich was just far too spicy for even my spicy taste buds. I could only take a few bites and had to pluck out all the peppers. I could easily give 4 stars, but Vim's personal touch and customer service made me forget about the spiciness of the food. He went over and beyond, letting me know of the other items he can make, asking me to give him a call to let him know what I thought about that food. Customer service is a lost art and it is something I miss and cherish when received. Therefore, maybe I don't eat the Paneer Tikka again, but I might just try some other items because of the excellent service.

    | Deeply Disappointed -- What Happened to Baithakh?…read more Baithakh used to be one of our favorite go-to spots in North Brunswick. We've always enjoyed the food, but unfortunately, something has definitely changed since our last visit -- and not for the better. We ordered several dishes, including the Baithakh Seekh Kebab Roll, Crispy Fried Chicken Burger, Beef Paya, Beef Nihari, Peshawari Mutton Karahi, and Chicken Malai Boti. To our surprise, nearly everything was a letdown. The Beef Paya and Peshawari Mutton Karahi were both swimming in oil and severely lacked flavor, which was shocking considering how good they used to be. The Fried Chicken Burger had decent seasoning, but the chicken itself was tough and rubbery -- almost inedible. The Chicken Malai Boti was okay, but even that wasn't as tender or flavorful as we've had here before. Maybe they've changed chefs or recipes, but the quality just isn't the same anymore. Baithakh had never failed us before, but this visit was a major disappointment. Sadly, we're giving it a 2 out of 5 stars. We hope they find their way back to the standard that once made them great.
