I was in need of a wax and pretty hesitant to try someplace new considering the lack of salons in the area that I would trust for such a personal procedure. Tiberia's definitely scores points for fitting me in the same day at a time that was convenient for me. The salon is beautiful, the staff welcoming and the short wait for my technician took place in an overstuffed, super-comfy armchair. Even the room I was led into nicely decorated, filled with pleasing smells and playing relaxing music. My technician, Lorraine, was extremely pleasant and took a few minutes to talk with me before starting the service. Once we began, I quickly made a resolution to remain faithful to my regular aesthetician in Cambridge. Not only was this the most painful waxing experience of my life, but there were a few things I was concerned about during the process. One, the double-dipping into the wax. My technician continually used the same stick, dipping it into the wax and into my skin. This is such a germ no-no. Second, she used the same strip over and over, wax side down. Super painful and super messy. Last, she repeatedly put hot wax over a spot she already waxed to remove stray hairs. Yeeeeeooouch. It seemed to me that she was new to waxing, given the odd poses she had me in and the many, many times she had to go over one single area. The total process took almost 40 minutes. For $65, I had expected a much quicker, more thorough and less painful experience.
