I am absolutely in love with my son's 1st bday cake! I've never ordered from Shirin Bakery before, but the rave reviews were spot on. I wanted a cake that wasn't too sweet. They recommended a strawberry cake with fresh whipped cream and fresh berries mixed in. It was perfect, it was exactly what I had wanted. The cost for a custom cake was very reasonable! read more

The cakes are delicious and well decorated. Above average prices. Paid $300 for a cake for 15ppl. The staff very friendly but the owner thinks he is the only one who has great cakes. You can loose lots of clients with your head in the clouds attitude. Check yourself. read more

Made a last minute order for my son's birthday. Wasn't sure if they would make it since it was 3 days before the event. They asked me to text a picture of what I wanted and took my order immediately. I picked up on day of the event and my eyes just popped with Wow Ness because it was exactly what I wanted. In addition the cake was Amazing, so full of flavor and was moist. Shirin bakery not only executed and delivered the design but the flavor as well! Most bakeries will deliver on design or flavor but not on both and Shirin did both while exceeding my expectations. I wanted to share my experience with the public. To start of I would personally order from Shirin Bakery again. The cake was delcious in general and Nick is really a sweetheart. He made sure my cake came out super beautiful and everyone loved the design. There was a tiny issue and may have been from my part but just didn't make much sense. To my knowledge, I thought my 3 tier cake was edible. I come to find out the day of my event they brought me a FAKE 3 tier cake and 2 boxes of cake with no design and smushed on top of eachother. I texted Nick about how I was confused on the fake cake. He mentioned that he did explain it to me but to be honest I would have said no to that and not paid 700$ for a fake cake. I truly thought my cake was edible. Once again, I would order again because even though my edible extra cake was smushed, it was still good. Everyone loved it. Please keep in mind when ordering a cake, to keep in mind its fake and ask as many questions as possible. I have never ordered a big cake and didn't expect a fake cake because I never heard such a thing. I should have read the reviews but I didn't. That's why just to make it clear, ask questions and just know they make fake cakes. I don't think 700$ for a fake cake was worth it but I do appriciate the hard work. read more

Checked out their ig page and knew they can create my request. Everything about the transaction made so easy, fast replies and honest business ethics. I got a cake here for my son's birthday. It was pre-made and I appreciated how they wrote Happy Birthday and his name on it at short notice, however, the cake was unfortunately a bit dry. Three of my Yelp friends have always raved about this bakery. After getting done with some business in the valley, I made the time to stop by here. Parking for this coffee shop is found along Ventura Blvd, and a spot is not hard to come by on weekday mornings. I walked in and asked what they recommend. The worker I spoke to, Nick, recommended the Armenian coffee. Of the many pastries they have here, I chose the cinnamon roll. Both the coffee and the roll were amazing! Nick and the rest of the staff were very friendly. I liked the environment here, and I'll return again the next time I find myself in the area. In response to their recent response: Oops! Can't say enough good things about this bakery and about Nick! My MOH gifted me a beautiful cake for my bridal shower by Shirin. It was BETTER than described and looked delicious! Unfortunately, we had a little mishap and half of the cake fell (our fault) but Nick was quick to the rescue! He sent over one of his display cakes so we could have a fill in!! That was so incredibly thoughtful and totally saved the day!!! So that was not just one delivery across town but two! The half of the cake that remained we were able to salvage and it tasted delicious! All my guests were raving about it and asking where it was from. I love Blueberry Scones!!! I have tried them in every place I go.... there are a few places that know what they are doing, but they are all far and away... Finally a neighborhood bakery that makes amazing Scones!!! I walked in yesterday and got one... had it coffee a few hours later and I was in shock of how good it was.... I finished ever last bit and called the owner to let him know how much I enjoyed it. Early this morning I have asked my friend to get me one more.... Where do I begin. If you're thinking of booking them for a wedding cake please think twice and go with someone with more professionalism and sense of responsibility. After contacting several cake shops, we decided to go with Nick because he provided good customer service and we had a pleasant experience during cake tasting. He drew out what I wanted showed it to me...same day we paid a deposit and moved on. We decided on full fresh flowers all around and gold ribbon. Nothing else. Fast forward 3 weeks before the wedding I contacted them and confirmed we were set. Over a week before the wedding I called again and spoke to Nick directly and confirmed everything. He asked me for my florists phone number and said he'd contact her to arrange for the flowers (I have the text messages) as all I had on the cake design were fresh flowers and sugar flower stems. One day before the wedding I texted Nick because I needed the cake to be delivered to the venue sooner. He responded with "I don't have this number saved what event". I called my florist and she told me he has not contacted her. I text Nick freaking out. He says don't worry I'll contact her today and get the flowers. (1 day before the wedding - florist needs enough notice to order more flowers). Day of the wedding comes around and here is the cake that was delivered to the venue. (Please see pictures attached). Looks NOTHING like what we had discussed. I did not have baby-s breath flowers incorporated in my flowers at all. The delivered cake was one layer of white roses with baby-s breath flowers. The cake itself looked extremely fake and sloppy, the foam layers weren't even secured. The top three layers fell off when the waiters lifted the cake to take it to the kitchen. The gold band was a mess and even my vendors commented on how the cake did not tie in with the rest of my design. I was very upset and texted Nick to let him know how dissatisfied and disappointed I was. He stated my florist did not have enough flowers to give him and that I had to arrange for the flowers prior and pay for them. (None of this was communicated to me by Nick prior). I don't care about paying more for what I wanted but nothing was communicated to me. He could have called me one day before the wedding and O could have arranged for flowers from somewhere else (even though that should be his job). I paid nearly $2,000 for a 7 layer foam fake cake all it had were supposed to be flowers and here's what I got. Cake board was also not supposed to show. ‍ read more

I got a cake for my daughter's birthday and it was a basic confetti, vanilla cake nothing fancy. When we cut into it later that night, it was horrible. There was literally no Cake in the center. It was a pound of frosting in the middle of the cake on the inside, it was as if they had taken out the center of the cake and had piped in a ton of frosting instead. Everyone was grossed out and nobody ate the cake. Everybody was wondering what was wrong with the cake and I had to throw the whole thing away. When I told the owner about it, he was like I can remake another cake for you, but that is normal practice for them. I asked him if he had seen the pictures that I sent him because that is clearly not a normal cake, there was no cake it was frosting. He said that they have been doing this for a long time and this cake was normal and that maybe I was after something else which I didn't understand or respond to because that is a ridiculous accusation. It pains me to have to write a bad review on this place. The guy who works here is super nice and accommodating a good guy I can tell. Still I'm a loyal yelper and believe in the importance of the consumer truth and experience. I am a yelp elite and I write reviews on the product not just the service. My order went wrong several ways. First the pick up date got confused, so my birthday cake wasn't specially decorated when I went to pick it up. No chocolate plaque and special handwriting as promised. The man there was very kind to print something out on the computer to accommodate but it still wasn't the same. I spoke to the baker and told her I wanted something with a Russian theme and flowers. She said ok, and quoted me a very low price which I thought was way to cheap. I once again clarified what I wanted again and was given the same price. Being as inexpensive it was how could I complain when I picked up my birthday cake that looked more like a wedding cake. No custom decoration or frosting work, just some real flowers that were well presented, just not for a birthday occasion. No special bakery art or custom touches. All this I could have over looked, but I specifically asked for a chocolate russian wet biskvit cake. The flavor was not chocolate and I asked repetitively if it was. I called all over to have this specially made and was totally stoked to find somewhere that could make it. I wanted it custom and special. I feel what I got was generic and plain; not what I was after at all. All my birthday girl wanted was chocolate and she was highly upset to find yellow sponge cake inside. It wasn't about the price but experience in this situation I would have paid 6x what I did for what I wanted. read more

They have the most DELICIOUS DELICIOUS DELICIOUS cakes and pastries here! My favorite thing to get (and I mean favorite because I can eat a whole box if I wanted to) is their shirini Latifeh. Soooooo unbelievably flavorful! The only critique I have this that I was there at 1:45pm and the doors were locked with no one inside. I was very very confused since it was a business day and there were no signs that said closed. I called and no one answered either. Needles to say, as I walked back to my car I called again and they answered saying they were open. Not sure what happened there but maybe next time have a sign out front so your guests know if you'll be back or not. read more

The party was planned a little last minute because we didn't know when we'd get our gender results back, so I was a little pressed for time to find a bakery that could make a cake for me within a few days. La Paz really accommodated my last minute request and our food allergy restrictions. They did their best to make sure they could accommodate egg yolk and dairy sensitivity, and even texted me to make sure their ingredients were okay! They also called me to confirm how I would like the gender to be revealed in the cake and were very clear on how they were going to execute it. I have never experienced such attentive customer service! They even decorated the cake so well, even though it was a last minute order. Not only were they able to accommodate my last minute request with grace, the cake also came out BEAUTIFULLY! It was enormous and so delicious. The cake was so light and fluffy. And a strong contender for "Best Croissants in LA" as I can't think of too many noble competitors- probably because now when I think of "croissant" Shirin's is all I can think about. Incredible - and my new favorite croissant place for "Croissant Sunday." In full honesty, I'm leaving this review as a distraction from counting down the minutes until they are open. And because they truly deserve it. In fact, Shirin bakery came highly recommended to me by my neighbor and when I mentioned her to the owner, he knew exactly who I was talking about. Honestly a "this is what I wanted, and this is what I got" moment. This review is almost a year late but as I was scrolling through my past pictures I couldn't help but feel ashamed of myself. I was ashamed that I didn't stand up for myself and let them know I wasn't satisfied with the cake. Its too late now to complain but on yelp its never too late. The number's font was not accurate and it looked like it was smothered in a rush. I also spent around $70 for this 8 person cake. Its not too too bad but its not like the picture and for the price they could have atleast made it the same font. This place is awesome! I stop here almost every day to get some lavazza coffee and pastries or some cookies, I want to say everything is delicious here and the coffee is amazing if you are a real coffee drinker I like my coffee black so I get the pure taste of the coffee and this one is really good! On top of that they make custom cakes for weddings or birthdays or whatever and they do a great job really creative! Owner is an great guy always there himself making sure everybody is happy and everything is running well always let's me taste some new stuff when I stop by. I recently visited Shirin Bakery, and it was a delightful experience. The selection of baked goods is impressive, with a variety of delicious treats, from freshly baked breads to pastries that are simply irresistible. The flavors are spot on, and everything I tried was incredibly fresh. The staff were friendly and welcoming, adding to the overall pleasant atmosphere. One area for improvement would be the seating arrangements more space would make it a bit more comfortable for enjoying the treats on-site. Wow! Cutest bakery ever!!!! Tarzana doesn't really have any cute or out of the ordinary bakeries so this was a new change. I'm Armenian so I love pastries and talk about good quality stuff. I'm a big fan of nazooks (popular middle eastern pastry) and they have such unique ones!! They have original,NUTELLA, walnut,coconut, and vanilla nazooks my favorite so far is the Nutella and coconut and hands down amazing! Everything seemed very fresh and beautiful. He was making good time; but when 10:05 came, we started getting worried. When he did arrive he showed us the smashed cake you see in the picture. I sent the picture to Shivon and she sounded like she was going to have a heart attack! She profusely apologized and told me she was going to make this better. She went overboard!! I supposed knowing that there were 3 birthday people she made 3 separate different flavored small round cakes (not that little I might add!), a dozen cupcakes . I am not a fan of sweets; but, all of the cakes and cupcakes I tasted were excellent! And yes, per the menu very expensive- but for the quality, so worth it. I wish I had taken pictures of the cakes she sent. But, we were rushing around so much by that time, I couldn't. The driver however took pictures.
