I was a bit nervous when I had to pick up the cake because I wasn't sure if there were any mishaps since I placed the order so long ago. We were picking up some pizza from Maria's and I saw this bakery a few doors down so I popped in to see what they had. They have a good variety of pastries and baked goods. I should have asked what they were known for and tried those items. We purchased three items, a large cookie with chocolate in the middle, an apple square and a loaf of apple banana bread. The cookie was okay and best eaten with coffee or tea, sane with the apple banana bread, I really couldn't taste the flavors and the apple square was moist but couldn't really taste a strong apple flavor. We might have picked the wrong items so we will try them again. There were so many delicious looking desserts in the cases. The young lady was nice. Delicious Bakery is worth a visit. We picked up the coconut sliced cake along with the raspberry/strawberry cake. The coconut sliced cake was really good. It wasn't too sweet. The raspberry/strawberry cake however was stiff. It seemed like the cake has been sitting out for days. It wasn't moist at all. It was stiff to cut through. We couldn't eat it. I used to love this place. For years it was my go-to for cakes, challah, and cookies. The longtime owners had a special touch, and everything tasted homemade and carefully crafted. I got a bunch of stuff from Delicious Bakery and it is all so good. You can't go wrong with any of their loaves of bread - they're all so flavorful and the texture is so much better than anything from the grocery store. It's light and fluffy, not dense and heavy. The onion rye is a standout. I also got a bunch of sweets and they're irresistible. I find that Jewish cookies are often dry and crumbly, but that's not the case with these cookies. They're all delicious, but my family's favorites are the cinnamon hearts, apricot and raspberry butter cookies, and the mini linzer tarts, which aren't overly sweet. The kids also devoured anything with sprinkles, confetti, or mini m&ms on it. There was one more cookie I have to mention: a large marble cookie with a chocolate thumbprint. It wasn't chewy but it wasn't crunchy, it was perfectly in between, and the perfect balance of salty and sweet. I highly recommend Delicious Bakery if you're in the valley, and even if you're not, it's probably worth the drive. read more
