I drive by here all the time and finally decided to go in and try some treats. Let me first say that their cake work is absolutely exquisite. Although I haven't gotten a cake from them, there were some in the shop that were gorgeous. We tried their chocolate chip cookie, chocolate chip macaroon, chocolate ganache torte and cheesecake. The chocolate chip cookie was quite good. It didn't taste artificial and overly processed like some do. It was crispy on the outside and chewy in the middle, yum! The macaroons were rich and almost gooey and and perfectly sweet. The chocolate ganache tart had a nutty hazelnut crust that wasn't sweet all. The chocolate was dark, rich and creamy and tasted like truffles. This one was great in that it was bittersweet and played especially nice against the other items we got which were sweeter. Lastly, the cheesecake. This had an amazing texture that was fluffy and dense at the same time. The chocolate drizzle and strawberry on top was the perfect accent to the creamy cheesecake. The graham cracker layer at the base had a little blob of dark chocolate at the very bottom. Although this was just there to secure it, I appreciated this flavor! So disappointed in their customer service. A friend had recommended them for custom cakes so I emailed them with reference photos and requested a quote for a two tiered birthday cake. A few days pass and no reply so I emailed them again, still no reply. I ended up calling them several times and the lady on the phone told me that the person responsible for the emails hasn't gotten to the emails yet or that they will get back to me by end of day. Amazing! I ordered a custom Lego themed cake for my nephews birthday, and it was nothing short of spectacular! It was a vanilla cake with cookies and creme filling. So yummy and moist! I'm the husband of Shadi J. below, and I want to follow up her review from 2.9.20: Ever since we found Shirin Bakery a few years ago, we always get cakes on special occasions from there because they do taste like homemade, particularly their white icing (with, depending on how you order, strawberries and other assorted fruit mixed in). In July and October of 2019, we ordered the same types of cake we'd ordered previously, and they were not of the same quality as they had been. The cake itself was stale and the icing lacked the just-perfect-sweet taste we'd gotten used to. This was highly disappointing, as we thought Shirin was the bakery we'd been looking for. After my wife wrote the review on 2.3.20 about our disappointment, we decided to call in an order and give them one last try for our anniversary this past weekend. Somehow, Nick figured out it was my wife who had written the unhappy review. He promised he would make sure the cake for our anniversary would be to our satisfaction, so my wife went ahead and ordered it. We picked it up together, but Nick wouldn't let us pay for it - and it was a bigger cake than my wife had ordered. As her updated review attests, this time, the cake was fantastic. There cakes are AMAZING. If you're looking for a delicious cake with the look and appeal Shirin is the bakery you need to go to immediately. The cakes are extremely moist (couldn't believe how moist they got them) and delicious. They taste homemade. I'm not a huge fan of sweets but these cakes are the perfect amount of sweet that made me a fan of sweets! My fiancé and I had a cake tasting here and it was so nice. The customer service was superb! We tasted chocolate, Oreo, strawberry, and red velvet. We are still raving about Shirin cakes. No other bakery compares. We would love to have them at our wedding. I am so sad to give this review since 2 years ago I gave them 5. I went there when it was just opened. Nick was great and helped me with couple of birthdays and I shopped there all the time. Is very close to my house. So for an upcoming birthday I called him last week. I send the pics of cakes and asked him if he can help. His respond was Things are different from two n years ago and I am busy. I asked if he can just take a look and let me know, he c asked me to send the pics.... never got a call back. I followed up with a message that pls let me know so I can go somewhere else, as of now no respond. I understand he is busy but being ignored I don't get. I send c them so many of my friend and families and expected a little courtesy of a quick respond even if it was denial. Their pastries are quite good but not so much for the gluten free cakes. We picked up a birthday cake which was supposed to be layered with vanilla and chocolate but for some reason there was only chocolate. That wouldn't have been a big deal if the cake came out good but it was too dense, dry and heavy in texture. To be honest, I've personally made a much better gluten free cake than this bakery. All I needed was almond meal/flour and lots of butter.... Quite disappointed since it was our daughter's birthday and we had high hopes for her cake which was a custom order and cost $250/- it looked good though... Found this place when coming to dinner near by saw it had five stars went in to ask of they do sugar free deserts as I am pregnant and diabetic. They said they do everything sugar free just need place order in advance. Got so excited and placed an order for sugar free apple pie for the following Friday. There was hick up with when I got there pie wasn't made. The owner contacted me and offered on the house the pie and home delivery as I came from Granada Hills very refreshing to see great customer service and caring owner. Very disappointed and unhappy with the cake and service. I ordered my daughter birthday cake here. We had about 40 guests. They charged me $275 for a cake that none of the guests could have even a bite since it was extremely sweet with no flavor. I had to trash the whole cake. After birthday l called the bakery.
