The price was very fair, especially considering the store is on the airport where most stores charge a premium based on the convenience factor and the fact travelers don't have many shopping options. While I was there, I noticed that they offer many services that go beyond just repairing shoes. They can repair all leather goods (bags, backpacks, suitcases, boots, and shoes of course). Need laces? Hours of Operation are 0600-730pm. Two men showed up @ 0625......then took 10 mins to set up. When I asked the shorter Hispanic gentleman why they opened late he stated very matter of factly......" I took my time getting here this am". As Info I was waiting with 3 other since 0545..... they left! It's this work ethic that is eroding the fibre of our great country. I would rate show Dr at 5 stars if they reliably showed up at the opening time printed on their sign. I've waited for 30-40 minutes after the posted opening time for someone to show up. Best shoe shine of my life right here. I was basking in the glory of ORD and couldn't help but notice that my boots were lookin' busted. Worn down. Water stains. No shine, no glory. So I popped up here for an $8 boot shine -- and got much more than I bargained for. Life advice. Told I was a Queen. (in a good way!) Theatrics. More life advice. Shiny boots that literally look new. The sign inside the door of the terminal 3 location advertises the terminal 1 location. Unless they have moved from there. Regardless, I have used their services many times before. Went to the one in terminal 1. this is my first negative review on Yelp. I had recently gotten my shoes shined but wanted them to be extra shiney for a wedding. I straight up told him this and asked if he could make it shinier. He said "yes definitely" since the "protective coating" would add some shininess. I made him confirm it a few times. After he put it on, shoes were half as shiney going in. I get you're trying to do business but no need to be deceitful about it. Total jerk move. read more

I love the Shoe Hospital and will travel across the city in a snowstorm on the bus and train to get their quality services. An amazingly friendly staff, qualified and competent, and to boot, totally understands that whether it is an inexpensive or not pair of shoes, if I can walk in it, I will want to wear it for as many lives as they can give a pair for me. Worst boot shine ever. I'll admit, my boots were dirty but I would of thought the shiner would of cleaned them off first prior to applying polish. Well he didn't do he tried to shine on dirty surface which didn't work at all & instead of stopping, he just kept applying more polish, 6 coats to be exact. Which made my boots look like they were looking like I had puddy all over them and he said that is his polish. I was very unsatisfied but had to catch a flight. Won't ever use them again read more

What is the point of having a shoe hospital in an airport if they cannot fix shoes? It takes a minimum of 3 days to fix so unless you plan on camping out in airport - don't get your hopes up read more

I went to the terminal 1 Shoe Hospital and got a great shine for $6. The terminal 1 location is the best because it's in a secluded (across from Frontera) little room that's quiet - the only thing you'll hear is sports radio playing in the background. The T1 location also seems to have full shoe repair capabilities. I have no idea why you'd want to take shoes to an airport to resole them but you can do it here! read more
