I've been here 2x, both for lunch and dinner. Food is absolutely delicious and service is excellent! Grab your reservation as they book up a month+ in advance.

What an amazing experience. Christian makes you feel like family! From drinks to food to service to ambiance Oak and Ember is a 10/10. We ordered 1/2 the menu since everything sounded amazing. Started with the Cesar Salad which was fantastic. Agnolotti was a flavor we've never experienced...sweet and savory. Spicy Gnocchi was a tad too spicy for my wife, but were light and airy. I prefer a red sauce with gnocchi...hoping that hits the menu in the future. I'm not a huge fan of drunken steaks but this cut like butter and melted in your mouth. Topped it all off with the old fashion bread pudding. Almost forgot about the drinks. I'm a brown water, neat, drinker. So I'm always searching for a great old fashion. Most are watered down, overly sweet and made with low proof bourbon. The one here, in my opinion, the best in the DMV. Just the perfect balance, made with higher proof bourbon, and a substantial drink...not like others where it's gone in two sips. Overall a GREAT Valentine's Day experience. Only one suggestion...bar chairs are a tad tall and there is no bar overhang which makes it a little difficult to eat. Very small detail and I'd sit right at the bar again tonight and enjoy my meal. I'd also be remised if I didn't address another poster as I had the EXACT same experience a month ago. Walked in, underdressed, and was turned away without a resy with a few bar seats and tables open. However, I didn't take offense as I'm sure my money spends the same as any others in the place. I just had to wait my turn and have a reservation. Owner didn't ask for my W2 when making a reservation and while he was dressed nice he topped off his fit with Nike dunks...I don't think he gives a rip what anyone is wearing or their financial situation. Restaurant is super small so you'll need to plan well in advance as weekends are booked months ahead... My only reservation in writing this review is I don't really want to get the word out. Selfishly I want a standing table just for my family. We'll be back for sure!

Nice modern looking restaurant, so spacious! We came for lunch. The menu consisted of sandwiches, salads and flatbreads. We came hangry so we went with the sandwiches. *The Captain- my husband loved the sandwich. *Purple Reighn- the eggplant was good. The bread though... I think would make any sandwich taste good. We loved the bread. *Truffle fries- the fries were crispy but they were a little heavy handed with the truffle sauce. *chocolate toffee dessert- so rich, was the perfect size too. We would definitely return if we're in the area. We would love to try their dinner menu. Service was attentive and helpful too.

I rate restaurants within their category and concept. I am not comparing a neighborhood tasting room to a Michelin star fine dining restaurant. If a place executes its vision at a high level and exceeds expectations for what it is trying to be, that is a 5 star experience to me. Oak and Ember Tasting Room absolutely earned that. We recently dined at Oak and Ember in Aldie. They are a new restaurant, and when we arrived they had only been open for a couple of hours that evening. We did not have reservations, but they still graciously found a table for us. The space is beautiful, warm, and thoughtfully designed, and the staff was genuinely friendly and welcoming without feeling rehearsed. The bar program deserves recognition on its own. The drinks were extremely well prepared, balanced, and intentional. You can tell they take their cocktail program seriously. The use of proper craft ice was a small detail that said a lot about their standards and attention to quality. As for the food, there were some real standouts. The spicy nduja mussels were bold and deeply flavorful. The broth had great depth from the sofrito and the nduja brought a gentle heat that built as you ate. The house focaccia that came with it was outstanding. I honestly wish they had given a little more, because it was perfect for soaking up that broth and tasted so good on its own. The pangrattato added a subtle crunch that kept the dish from feeling one note. The gnocchi bolognese leaned more comforting and hearty. The gnocchi were tender and pillowy without being heavy, and the bolognese had that slow cooked richness you want, with good structure and balance. One of my favorite dishes of the night was the spicy rigatoni alla vodka. The vodka sauce was creamy and well seasoned, with just enough heat from the Calabrian chili to keep it lively. The torn burrata added a cool, milky richness that played beautifully against the spice. What really made the dish stand out was the toasted breadcrumbs. They added an incredible textural contrast that took the whole plate to another level. We also had the dry aged ribeye, which was cooked properly and full of flavor. The roasted Misty Meadow mushrooms brought great earthiness, the pomme purée was smooth and rich, and the bordelaise tied everything together with classic depth. Overall, Oak and Ember delivers high quality food, a serious cocktail program, and warm, thoughtful service in a beautiful space. For what they are aiming to be, this was a flawless experience. An easy 5 stars for us, and we will definitely be back.

Stunning little spot in Aldie! We came here for dinner and were immediately blown away by the friendliness of the staff. The ambience is very cozy yet very chic. Although this restaurant allows kids, and can accommodate kids, i recommend going here without the kids atleast once. We did bring our 1 year old and they do have high chairs. At this time, there's no kids menu and our little one is open to various foods so we didn't ask for anything off menu or altered. So the adults review: I ordered the Negroni and my husband ordered a recommended wine and both drinks were amazing! Highly recommend trying a cocktail. For dinner we ordered the mussels and the Caesar salad as starters. The mussels were fresh and the broth was very tasty & mild in flavor, allowing the mussels to shine. The Cesar salad was beautiful- made as close to the authentic style, the boquerones (anchovies) were barely noticeable. Next, we ordered the Spicy Gnocchi alla Vodka with shrimp and the dish was superb. The gnocchi was so soft & light while the vodka sauce was the perfect balance. We did ask for extra Calabrian Chili (house made) on the side & it was perfect. We finished off dinner with the Old Fashioned Bread Pudding, and you NEED to get it. Probably the best balance of Bourbon to bread you can ever find. In all, 11/10- we left happy and ready to come back again for their lunch and dinner service. So happy to have such an amazing spot in Aldie.

Stopped in on a whim after work...on a Friday night and I'm so glad I did! No reservation? Viral restaurant? No problem. We were warmly greeted by the very accommodating owner, who quickly worked some magic and found us seats in the bar area. The bartender servers were equally polite and welcoming, which always sets the tone for a great experience. Now, let's get down to business...the food was delicious . We ordered the scallops, the roasted garlic butter shrimp with agnolotti, and finished with the bread pudding and every bite was outstanding. I was so busy enjoying the food that I almost forgot to take photos, but I managed to snap a couple before diving back in. One small note: the bar seating is a bit low for a typical bar seating, which can make eating slightly awkward unless you don't mind leaning in like you're having a serious conversation with your plate. Taller guests may want to keep that in mind. That said, it was a fantastic first-time experience overall, and I'll absolutely be back.

Got to check out this new restaurant for valentine's day lunch! parking is behind the restaurant. lunch and dinner menus are different. we got the foundation sandwich- very meaty, tuscan flatbread- bread made this different, it was great! and the spicy gnocchi alla vodka- big perfectly cooked fluffy gnocchis with lots of sauce and ricotta! perfect portion (this is only served at dinner). everything was delicious!! service was attentive and checked for any allergies. it's a small cozy restaurant, definitely recommend reservations. looking forward to checking out dinner next!

Wonderful experience at Oak and Ember. Came to celebrate a special occasion and it didn't disappoint! The team was educated about the wine and food and was happy to walk us through different options they thought we'd like. They have wines at a variety of price points. We made a reservation and were seated early. The restaurant does a wonderful job of making sure it's not overbooked. The staff was attentive and so sweet. Great vibes! Food was amazing. We had the truffle fries, arancini, lemon pea pasta, the spicy vodka gnocchi, bread pudding, and toffee cake. Everything was to perfection. We will definitely be back!

Great lunch spot. Came here on a lunch date for a easy Friday lunch. We were greeted as soon as we came in and (presumably) the owner seated us and made sure we were comfortable. We ordered Frankie Meats w/truffle fries and a negroni and The Captain w/truffle fries and a glass of wine. Everything was delicious. Didn't expect for the sandwiches to be cold but they were still tasty. The truffle fries came with a nice sprinkle of Parmesan and truffle sauce. The fry portions were smaller than expected but were fried well and tasted good. Nice ambiance inside. Would definitely come again !

Our tuna tartare arrived and upon eating our first bites, the taste was off-putting. The staff was so kind to compensate by removing this item from our bill. The mussels are a good dish shareable for two; we asked for soup spoons to enjoy the broth. My friend typically does not order protein as her main entree (coming from a family who is skilled at grilling meats), though I was able to persuade her to share the pork chop. The staff offered to split this into two separate plates. I enjoyed the fact that were were supporting a local fresh pork farm based out of Mount Jackson, VA known as Baker's Farm. First of all, the setting: a charming little house turned restaurant, but inside it's giving modern minimalist chic -- clean lines, warm wood, soft lighting, and the kind of cozy vibe that makes you immediately relax and say, "Yes, I will have a cocktail." Speaking of cocktails... my friend and I started with two delicious drinks (Gin and tonic and French 75) that disappeared suspiciously fast. (Research purposes, obviously.) Then came the tapas parade: * Creamy burrata that was basically a love letter to cheese. * Spicy lamb ragu that had just enough kick to keep things interesting. The portion was nice too! * Perfectly cooked steak that was succulent! * And a sea bass in red curry that brought a little bold flavor moment to the table. Four plates, two drinks, zero regrets. Small space, big flavor, and the kind of spot that feels like you've discovered a secret. Middleburg, you're hiding gems!!! 10/10 would celebrate another birthday here -- even if it's not mine.

I would recommend a reservation because with rain outside aka the patio being closed, the whole inside was packed. A lot of the seats are super close which feels very European but you can hear most peoples conversations which can be annoying. Our waitress was really sweet and stopped by a bunch. We started with French 75's, hot coffee, and an espresso martini. The drinks were refreshing and quite large for the price. The espresso martini really reminded me of a grown up hot chocolate, I really enjoyed it. I later also got a cucumber vodka martini and it was one of the most refreshing drinks I've ever had - definitely the drink of the summer. For our food we started with the baked brie with fig and garlic and the escargot. The brie was a unique take on baked brie, I loved the way the flavors all melded and the fact the cheese wasn't completely spilling out everywhere. The escargot was soft with a phenomenal crumb/butter mix, the whole things really melded well and melted in your mouth. The bread served with it was nice as well, if only I had a bit more of it. For our mains we were here during brunch so we got the lobster omelet and the French onion soup with the side of fries. The french onion soup was great, a good amount of cheese and onions without being overwhelming. Fries were fantastic and quite large, a big portion for $7.
