    Rooftop bar

Rooftop bar in downtown Leesburg. Great atmosphere, beautiful location. The drinks are stronger, fresher, and better than other bars in the area- definitely a premium selection. Since it is outside, it doesn't get loud. There is no traffic sound since it is on the roof. But you are subject to weather. They've added some umbrellas for shade and we've had some fantastic weekends for an outdoor bar lately. And it would defeat the purpose to be fully under is roof.

Great group of folks offering affordable cocktails on the only rooftop. How can you go wrong with that?

I was just looking for some good coffee one morning when I saw a little hole in the wall and realized it's a little coffee shop! I've gotten an iced coffee there, and a matcha the next two times. Both are great. The baristas are all really nice and will very likely be able to make you something if you wanna tweak an item on the menu a bit. And, most importantly, their matcha is the real deal. It's not the bitter and awful cheap stuff that most cafes will sell to you for the same price. This is the good stuff, and you can tell they make any syrup they add to it in house. It's so refreshing. If you love coffee, and especially matcha, this place is it!

It took 10 mins for anyone to come see us. I had to get up to ask for someone to get our orders. To boot, the person who was supposed to assist us, was in the back hall by the restrooms texting and hanging out. I assume no one told her that we were there. The cider I ordered was warm, so I had to ask for a cup of ice at the bar. My husband's burger was meant to be medium well and it was raw. Lastly, it's extremely loud in that room. The chairs are metal, and when drug against the flooring, they make an awful sound! They really need a form of rubber on the legs. Very hard for grandma, who has hearing aids. Poor thing was so uncomfortable. The room next to us, with a door leading to the window to the kitchen, was so incredibly annoying. They were pounding the entire time we were seated, and it was LOUD! We all just sat completely silent. This was an incredibly disappointing visit and we will not come back.

So, there was quite a lively and noisy scene happening. Stutters has TVs facing where I was sitting at the bar. I didn't know that they switched to drastically slashed menu. I am a vegetarian but, after so long, but I'm very good about finding something where I'm eating. Except here. The quality of service is really what I remember. The young bartender serving was quick to provide me with menus and water. She returned and took my drink order. Then nothing. She had moved to a couple of regularly who had just sat down at the bar. I ended up being rescued by a (maybe?) manager who brought my drink and took my food order. The menu was made up of solely appetizer. What I ate was good.

The only reason we were finally helped was because we went back to the host stand to ask. Our server was friendly and did her best once she arrived. She brought out the bread, but while it was warm on the outside, it was still frozen in the middle, which was pretty off-putting. The food was just okay. I ordered the roasted chicken, which was a bit dry but still edible. Overall, the service delays and food quality didn't justify coming back. Unfortunately, I don't plan to return for dinner.

We saw pictures of the Escelon and it looked like the perfect ambiance for us. We were mistaken and we should NOT have come here. The five us chose to do the $50 restaurant week course with the added $25 wine pairings. When we saw that the line up came with a sweet wine, we politely asked the server if there was any way to switch that specific pour for another wine. She immediately said it was "not possible". The wine sat there untouched. Mind you, we had purchased a full bottle for the table along with the added wine pairings. It was a simple modification for 3 OUNCE pours. Ridiculous. The pours were also inconsistent. The first two courses and wine pairings were exceptional and delicious. As was our appetizer and bottle of wine. When it came to the last course, the dessert. It really left a bad taste in our mouths. The crème brûlée looked like scrambled eggs. It was runny and lumpy. It looked more like cottage cheese than a custard. Like the sweet wine, we all left it untouched. We explained our grievances to the server and she said that she would not tell the chef because he was "sensitive" and she was too afraid of him. As a former server myself, I couldn't help but be upset. When it comes to customer service, your job is to have your guests leave happy and wanting to come back. That was absolutely not the case for us. The fact that we spent $600 for such a horrible experience is laughable. Don't waste your money!
