My wife and I had lunch here on a wonderful July day. The service was great, if anything too helpful. I loved the decor and the wood booths. The food was delicious. The food is absolutely DELICIOUS. Kind of a small but homey spot. Service was average and it was a little warm with all of the customers but it was so worth it because of the food. The sweet potato fries are awesome (and so is everything else). The portions are large which is great. We stopped in for dinner one evening. At first they offered a table in the bar area upstairs, being unfamiliar with the place we went up and looked, but it is very small and not where I would want to eat dinner so we headed back downstairs. They then offered us a table which was good. We were greeted by a young lady that got our drinks while our Server was busy. Our Server came over as soon as she could and went over the menu, letting is know all the sauces are made in-house by the Chef. She went over the Chef's menu for the evening of Chicken Cordon Blu or Honey Salmon...we picked the Chicken Cordon Blu and our Son got a fried house salad (unfortunately they are out of ranch so he had to get something else so thats a bummer...it is all you can eat crab leg night Thursday so that might be what it is? Took a while to get our food as it is fresh prepared, but well worth the wait. Food was cooked perfectly and tasted good. read more

Hey all, so about this place, I've had hit or miss service experiences but if I was just judging on their lobster bisque soup I'd give them 10 stars. The flavor is great and I dont have to search for the lobster, there is a ton of lobster. The warm dinner rolls are great and they have a good variety for kids tk choose from as well. A cute little place to come and really good food. Had the pork tenderloins and it was tender and flavorful but I wish their was more sauce. Also had to ask for a better knife as the one that was given just tore the meat like I was using a butter knife. All in all I will keep coming back. One note I could say is for thr prices of the meals and the size of the booths here they really should box up your leftovers for you. Left super frustrated as it took over 15 minutes to get my credit card back. read more

Ok.. let me tell you what I expected... a mediocre overpriced meal and mediocre service. .. well let me tell ya... I rarely give 5 stars but this place was excelllent from start to finish... Hunter the server was one of the better ones I had in a while, the shrimp cocktail app was great (8 shrimp decent sized spicy cocktail sauce), hunter recomended the ribeye and she was right on with that...cooked perfectly, tasty and tender. Everyone from the hostess to the bartender was friendly and helpful. Had 3 top shelf long island which were great... a little over priced but the food prices made up for it. OMG their Orza Pasta salad is the best homemade thing ever. Saw a grilled ham and asparagus sandwich online that they don't have on the menu anymore. My wife and I stopped at Shoebooties Cafe while passing through Murphy, North Carolina. We were very surprised !! The ambience and decor was great. We both ordered the Milano sandwich for lunch. Roasted eggplant, roasted pepper, tomato, provolone cheese melted on an asiago cheese grilled bread !!! Even though there was no meat it was delicious !!! The staff and owners were awesome and super friendly and also provided great service. Prices were reasonable (two sandwich lunches with a side and a white chocolate bread pudding to go for less than $22 !!!) We WILL be back !!! read more

Before all this 'pandemic' stuff got started we came to Murphy several times. We always ate at least one night at ShoeBooties and were never disappointed. This was our first trip back in several months are were happy to see that things have not changed. Still a great family run friendly restaurant. Good food, good service, what more can you ask for? Not sure when we will be back since the casino has really disappointed us this trip, but when we do, we will eat at our favorite little spot in Murphy. read more

We often go on Saturday for the prime rib special and it is good, so are the salads. For some reason that can't figure out how to do a baked potato. They are not even warm enough to melt the butter. The ribs on Fridays are also good. A little over priced but worth a shot. read more

This place it great. After a whitewater rafting trip we found Shoebooties on Yelp. We decided to pay them a visit and we're glad we did. With a group of 13 and late in the lunch time frame I was concerned about what to expect but I should not have been. We were greated by the friendly hostess who suggested we sit in the bar since they were setting up for dinner. Debbie handled our service perfectly. The drinks and food arrived promptly and all dishes were excellent. We mostly had sandwiches with a couple of lunch special pastas mixed in. All rated the food as excellent We all agreed that given the circumstances Shoebooties did a great job. I will go out of my way to visit this gem again. read more

this was the first time in Murphy and our first visit to this restaurant. we were traveling and looking for a good place to eat, ShoeBooties had great reviews so we gave it a try. we had a choice of downstairs dining or upstairs in the lounge area. Evan welcomed us and was our server and bartender. I ordered the Reuben sandwich with sweet potato fries. My husband had the New York strip steak with a baked potato and salad. Evan offered a tasting of the lobster bisque which was outstanding. A hint of sherry with perfect creamy thickness. My Reuben was on a toasted buttery with a hint of garlic rye bread. The meat was thinly sliced, with just enough sauce and sauerkraut..the sweet potato fries were served with a cinnamon flavored dipping sauce, which was a nice touch My husbands steak was perfectly cooked, not much fat and a rather large portion The potato was fresh and cooked just right. we were very pleased with our visit and look forward to another meal the next time we are passing through . read more

The pumpkin pie shooter was excellent however I was asking if I could have it without the chocolate. No flexibility. The atmosphere and service was great. Christmas music playing overhead was nice. We decided to try this restaurant for the first time today. We were greeted by a friendly hostess and server. And that's where the service stopped. We waited 40 minutes and when the table behind us (who were seated 35 minutes after us) received their food we got up to leave. So sadly I cannot rate the food because we never had any. sat at bar...extensive beer menu (no blue moon, shocktop) did have Newcastle, Bass and of course Guinness. server was friendly, explained that reuben was best choice ("most famous for") and that shepherd's pie was good. I opted for an app. of fries with "Guinness cheese".... a homemade concoction made with beer, yes, Guinness....which were good. I also had fish & chips, which was cod, but the item comes frozen to them and the cook didn't really "crisp up" (if's that's possible with frozen) the coating. it was marginal at best. if I ate there again I would try something else (another review of this place said the shepherd's pie wasn't very good) happy trails read more

Great place. Love the story behind the name. The menu has lots of good options for vegetarians or pescatarians without fencing those options as if it is special needs food. We stopped by in Murphy, NC to grab some local fare. Unfortunately we got steered into this cafe. I would not recommend this place if you are driving thru. It's an Italian-ish restaurant with no real local options. I ordered the Eggplant Milano. It was a sandwich made of crostinis, tiny. Nothing impressed me with the meal. My wife said she thought the fish in her fish sandwich tasted off. Don't get the orzo pasta salad unless you like celery. I think there were more pieces of celery than pasta in my side. Service took a while. The other server had two tables in the room we were in and he probably checked on both tables twice before we got refills. If you are looking for local fare probably not the best choice. They did have steady traffic, maybe just bad experience. read more

The food was great!!! But it took 1 hour, yes 1 hour to get our main course meal. When a table is turned over every 1 hour and 45 minutes, I don't see how this restaurant can make money. (That was my comment to the manager when I paid the bill). Then our glasses went empty. There were a lot of waiters and waitresses running around with communication equipment around their heads but NO leadership. The workers are over tasked with no guidance or an effective plan. They run around trying to fix problems. When we complained to the manager, her excuse was that they were busy. Based on what the waitress told us, the kitchen couldn't keep up with the orders. We went to Shoetini's Lounge on 12/30/17 and quite honestly the service was quite possibly the worst I have experienced in that quality of a place. We did not have reservations and I understand it was a holiday weekend but we felt that we were putting them out by being there. Once we made it upstairs to the lounge, the main bartender there was the most rude, condescending, and just nasty to their staff as well as the patrons. They also had no clean martini glasses and the idea of Shoetini's is the martinis. We would never step foot in that establishment again. The food was decent but that bartender should be fired and probably pushes business out the door. read more

We had to drive 7 hours from the coast to find such amazing, fresh food! It was better than anything we have had in our hometown. We couldn't believe how good the food was in such a small town like Murphy's, especially Shoe Booties. I had the pecan crusted trout which was local and it was to die for. My husband loved their bleu cheese steak medallions. The bread was warm and fresh, the chocolate creme brulee was heaven. Everything was perfect. We drove from a day trip in Chattanooga (2 hours) to make sure we had a last meal at Shoe Booties, it was THAT good. The people are super friendly as well. Couldn't ask for better. read more
