Wondering how many know the origin of the catchy name? I asked the owner if he knew. (Since he bought it 5 years ago, name and all) He did. I figured he would. It came from an episode of the All In The Family tv show. Archie told a story about being so poor, at one point as a kid he had just one shoe and one boot. Shoe. Boot. The kid's nicknamed him ShoeBootie. Well alright. Loved the decor and atmosphere. We sat in a downstairs booth in the main first aisle. Cozy and great for people watching. When the a/c kicked on it got a tad chilly but I didn't mind. I started out with a bowl of the Lobster Bisque. Absolutely delicious. Nice chunks of sweet lobster meat. Semi-creamy with a hint of heat spice. The three of us shared a Baked Crab, Artichoke & Spinach Dip. It was very good. Not a lot of crab taste I thought. I loved the spinach tortilla chips. Thin, lightly fried, they broke nicely. I opted for the Prime Rib Philly. Dipped into a cup of Au Jus, just right. One friend got the Cranberry Turkey Melt. She enjoyed it. Her daughter got the Fish & Chips. The fish, cod, was bland and tasteless, even with the fried tempura batter. I tried a bite, agreed it lacked flavor. Overall a nice midday lunch experience.

We visited again for the first time in a long time (years). Today, we had the California Roll. We haven't had that in a long time, and we both enjoyed it. Next, we shared an order of Pad Thai with Chicken. This was a little confusing, as the sauce did not have the typical tamarind flavor, and the peanuts were just peanut halves thrown on, instead of crushed peanuts. That creates a different flavor profile. However, I will say that presentation was very nice, and the noodles were perfectly cooked. The atmosphere is comfortable. There are a good number of booths, and the music is loud enough to hear, but not so loud that it overtakes your conversation. Service was decent. Drinks were refilled, and we had everything we needed. I do wish the restaurant had more of a focus on providing gluten-free items, especially bread. None of their desserts were gluten-free. I would probably still return when in the area.

If you're staying around Robbinsville, the closest and largest town is Murphy. Cute little downtown area with shops and restaurants. Last year we checked out NC chicken chain Bojangles when visiting; time for something local! We chose ShoeBooties because it was in the downtown area close to good shopping. Our group was seated immediately; menu choices are abundant from sandwiches, salads, and nicely portioned entrees. Several us chose the Lobster Bisque as our starter. Nice flavors with a hint of spice. My grilled Mahi paired julienned squash and zucchini with pasta in a lemon cream sauce. GF's Cranberry Turkey Melt on Croissant was nice bites for her. Other diners enjoyed a seared Ahi Tuna Salad and then there was my mom's Quiche of the day. Sad looking plate with a burnt slice...It shouldn't have been served to her. Was a solid experience but only worth three stars. Don't serve diners sub par food.

    Father-daughter lunch date!

Cute place to pop in for lunch in the heart of downtown Murphy near shops, bars and coffee shops. Friendly service.

The manager stopped by at our table to see if everything went well and if we were enjoying our food. (Which we were!!) the grilled Caesar salad was scrumptious, and the kids Mac and cheese was finger licking good! You could tell that the Mac and cheese was house made because it tasted super fresh. The decoration inside was cool and definitely gave sea food vibes. The food came out very quickly as well as desert. I recommend the cheesecake it was velvety goodness. Even though the menu font was a tad hard to read and the key lime pie was more of a cheesecake feel, it's still a no brainer. 5 stars!!!

Sushi... in Sweetwater? Yeah, I was skeptical too…read more When your friends in a town of less than 7,000 say they're craving sushi, you smile, nod, and quietly prepare your taste buds for disappointment. But hey--sometimes you just have to roll with it (I'll see myself out). We ordered a bunch of rolls to share and... what?! They were actually really good. Super fresh ingredients, rice that was seasoned like someone actually cared, balanced flavors, and that magical combo of creamy, crunchy, and chewy. Honestly, we were impressed--and kind of shocked. The vibe? Meh. The lighting was doing weird things (don't blame us if our food photos look like they were taken on Mars). Service was friendly, but here's the twist: we wanted more sushi, but the chef was apparently tired. At 7pm. On a Thursday. Meanwhile, across the street? People are partying like it's 1999--dancing, drinking, singing karaoke. That's some potential sushi business just walking right on by. Bottom line: weird lighting, sleepy sushi chef, great rolls. For a tiny town? This place punches way above its weight. BTW, there are two Yelp entries for this business
