Very nice local sushi Restaurant. The waitresses are very pleasant, and the Japanese food choices are good. Nice quiet clean Restaurant.

SHOGUN Japanese Restaurant serves appetizers, soup, sushi, sashimi, roll, hibachi, teriyaki, noodle, fried rice, kid meals, lunch bento box, and much more. The food here was carefully crafted expertly presented and tasted as fresh as if I was in Japan. This cozy restaurant has left the best impressions! Hospitable hosts, delicious dishes, and beautiful presentation. The ambiance is very welcoming and charming. I recommend to everyone! The service we received was so amazing and we will be back. They made us feel welcomed and gave us an amazing experience. So, if you are looking for a great Sushi spot look no further this is definitely the place!

I ate one of the shrimp and a shumai before I took the photo. Oops

I went around noon for lunch. It's really cute and clean. You can see the sushi made from your booth. Service was friendly and fast. I ordered a shrimp teriyaki bento box and a soda. The house ginger dressing for the salad was delicious and the California rolls were delicious as well. You have a lot of options for the bento box, which is nice. The rice was outstanding. It was toasty and nutty tasting. I could have had just the rice and been happy, it was that good. You get plenty to eat and it was only $9.99. You can't complain about that. I will definitely be back. I really enjoyed my lunch.

ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE. I don't usually leave reviews but this was just overall bad. A horrible smell coming from the kitchen. Customer service was really bad felt rushed and food left horrible aftertaste. I love Japanese food and this was a disappointment. Oh and there were cobwebs and dust over my head... Me and my boyfriend couldn't stomach it and left early.

We were celebrating a birthday, and luckily we were one of the first people inside at 5 pm on a Friday. They told us we had only a couple hours, however, before we got booted so to speak, lol. But we didn't feel rushed! The local staff were great. We ate at a normal pace. We ordered the following: veal piccata, grilled NY steak, and specials--Rockfish, swordfish with shrimp sauce. The appetizers we tried were the French onion soup, cream of broccoli, and mushroom cap. The other specials that night were a Brie appetizer and a Maryland soft-shell crab entrée I believe. We also tried some special drinks--pear martini, dark berry mocktail. Overall, I liked the veal and the mushroom cap the most! Those were delectable, even though they had a pretty nice variety of seafood. All the plates came with a broccoli fluffy egg sous vide type of side (see pics, light green & circular). There's a smaller, more intimate area that could fit maybe 8 or 10 folks max for a party. There was some issue with the women's bathroom, but it was fine when I used it. Other than that, it was an overall pleasant experience. I think because of the time frame, we couldn't eat dessert so that sweet treats menu wasn't offered to us unfortunately.

The food was very good. The prices, however high, we expected it. But service was slow. We even got…read morea hand-written bill that wasn't itemized and they never added the cappuccino on it. Once inside the restaurant, the tables are long and very close together. Not too many table are just 4-tops of which means you'll be seated with others most likely . It was a tight squeeze to get up from the tables due to them being so close . They dump all the crabs and corn on your table which leaves lil space to actually eat them. There are three bathroom stalls for a really big restaurant of which causes a long line every time you need to use the bathroom. Now the crabs themselves were a mix of small & mediums but they were really juicy and had a good taste. The servers were pretty cool although they seemed overwhelmed with the large groups of people. Overall the crabs, corn, clam strips, and fried chicken thighs and shrimp were good. I would come back again just not on a trip so I can get a better chance if not being seated with people don't know .

The next day everybody was talking about how good this place was. They talked about the all you can eat crabs, that same with fried shrimp and chicken that was just out of this world, and it just sounded incredible. I had actually looked it up, and told my wife about it, but it was just to far of a drive without having a day planned around it. We don't really go out to this area, and so after a while it just kind of fell off of our radar. Fortunately for my though, I was invited to a conference at Salisbury University through my employer. I was talking with a friend of mine about the food ion the area, and he brought up a name that I hadn't heard in some time, but it clicked right when he said it. I did my googles and found that we were only 20 minutes from here, and I knew it was now or never. I told 2 of my coworkers about it, and gave them the backstory on how I've been wanting to cone here for years, and they were down. The only thing that came as a drawback was that we had just been given blue crabs at our conference the day before, and I didn't want to sit through another crab picking session, so AYCE wasn't going to be an option for me, but luckily it didn't end up being a problem. When we got here we were seated immediately, that staff was friendly and it smelled amazing as soon as you opened the door. Our sevcer was very accommodating seeing as we had to split the bill 3 ways and she put the alcohol on 3 different checks for us. Anyhow, The food! I got the Snow Crab mini feast, which came with 4 Clusters of Snow Crabs, 1 Piece of Fried Chicken, 1 Ear of Corn, Boat of Fried Shrimp, Boat of Clam Strips, Boat of Hush Puppies. Which was more like 3 pieces of chicken, and shrimp flowing out of the boat. I also got a pitcher of Blue Moon and a Tito's Wildcat which was really good. I could've done without the powdered sugar on top of the hush puppies, but it didn't ruin how good they were. It almost gave off a beignet vibe, they were lighter and fluffier than a lot of the more dense hush puppies I've had, and were still the best hush puppies i've had in a minute. Needless to say I crushed this whole meal, and I was actually considering not even eating the corn. Then I figured I should atleast take a bite, because why not. Best decision ever! I pealed the corn and drizzled melted butter with Old Bay on it, and holy smokes! The best corn i've ever had in my entire, whole, full, complete, total life! Even without the fixings it was sweet and juicy, just good. I would fircking come back from a Corn on the cob mini feast if they had one...lls The only real downside is that on a hot day this place and get pretty stuffy inside. We spoke with our waitress who said the A.C. has a hard time keeping up once the place gets packed, so hopefully thats something they fix in the near future. Definitely glad I got to check in here, and see what all the hype was about, and they delivered! Old Mill Crab House is the TRUTH!!

As you can see from my more than ten past reviews over 4 years and my last review in August 2025…read morethis is now one of my top three happy hour restaurants during the off season. I will summarize my four most recent happy hour off season visits. We were first here at the bar with my six family and friends. Well finally the off season happy hour half price dinner entrees have finally returned here starting around mid October with pretty much the same entrees and menu as last year. They subsequently updated the half price entrees in early November. All items have pretty much returned here except for some new entrees. The good news is that at least two new half price happy hour dinner entrees were added including the surf and turf with espresso encrusted 4 ounce demi filet mignon with two skewered shrimps, yukon mash, tomato garnash with blue cheese in the middle of the tomato for $40 or half price for only $20. I never had espresso encrusted filet mignon, therefore I ordered and enjoyed mine medium rare. I could barely taste the encrusted espresso. I ended my dinner with my favorite Fiddlehead's draft honey porter for $6. My total bill was $111 with half price discount of $36.50 so my final bill was $77. On my second return I enjoyed my ahi tuna rice bowl with broccoli, ginger fried house rice, sprouts and ginger vinaigrette for $36 or half price for $18. My total bill was $72 excluding gratuity. On my third return I again enjoyed the espresso encrusted 4 ounce demi filet mignon, which I had ordered medium rare, but was over cooked to medium. I did not complain about returning my filet for a replacement, however I did show it to bartender Dennis. Next time I will order my filet rare. On my fourth return I enjoyed my usual cosmos and my ahi tuna rice bowl which was always properly cooked ahi style. Bartender Dennis always remembers I prefer a little extra spice, without me even asking for my Sriracha. Dennis recommended both of the above entrees. See my most recent pic of the new menu. Chef Cowan waved to me at the bar. Bartender Dennis served us very well supported by our usual excellent recommendations and conversations. Chandra and Cameron also said hello. The staff here are very professional, knowledgeable and friendly. On Black Friday I purchased another $1k in gift cards for the off season from Off The Hook and Hooked in OC. Needless to say we will continue to return here for happy hour to spend our $1k.
