A charming French restaurant in Seaford, Delaware! A cute hole in the wall, probably the best eatery in town. Very accommodating place when we dropped in without a reservation! We were celebrating a birthday, and luckily we were one of the first people inside at 5 pm on a Friday. They told us we had only a couple hours, however, before we got booted so to speak, lol. But we didn't feel rushed! The local staff were great. We ate at a normal pace. We ordered the following: veal piccata, grilled NY steak, and specials--Rockfish, swordfish with shrimp sauce. The appetizers we tried were the French onion soup, cream of broccoli, and mushroom cap. The other specials that night were a Brie appetizer and a Maryland soft-shell crab entrée I believe. We also tried some special drinks--pear martini, dark berry mocktail. Overall, I liked the veal and the mushroom cap the most! Those were delectable, even though they had a pretty nice variety of seafood. All the plates came with a broccoli fluffy egg sous vide type of side (see pics, light green & circular). There's a smaller, more intimate area that could fit maybe 8 or 10 folks max for a party. There was some issue with the women's bathroom, but it was fine when I used it. Other than that, it was an overall pleasant experience. I think because of the time frame, we couldn't eat dessert so that sweet treats menu wasn't offered to us unfortunately. read more

The food was very good. The prices, however high, we expected it. But service was slow. We even got a hand-written bill that wasn't itemized and they never added the cappuccino on it. And the reason for the hand-written bill was never explained. So, was it computer, was laziness, or something else we'll never know. read more

We've been going to Bon Appetite every time visiting my in-laws. Owner Karen, server Amber, and the staff are fun, caring, and professional. They all go the extra mile to make everyone feel special. Last Friday, for appetizers, we enjoyed sausage stuffed mushrooms, oysters, and we ordered grouper special, scallops, and veal marsalla for dinner. Duck entree is always our favorite. Never fails! Not one complaint. We were a group of 8 for dinner. No special occasion. My grouper was prepared exactly as requested. My crepes with fresh strawberries was light but sweet enough to end my meal. My drink was quite strong and tasty but I can't remember the name. The service is excellent. The staff is very friendly and met every request without flinching. First time here but won't be my last. My husband and I stopped in to Bon Appetit on a Friday on our way to Quantico for a weekend getaway. We were coming from Philly so Seaford was a great spot to eat on the way to the shore. The host and server were friendly and helpful. We each ordered a glass of their red blend and our meals were absolutely delicious. I had one of the daily specials for my appetizer - the fettucine alfredo with mushrooms, and my husband ordered the garlicky escargots. For dinner I ordered the baked salmon with orange beurre blanc and my husband had the broiled sea scallops with lemon and breadcrumbs. For dessert we shared the chocolate mousse per our server's suggestion, which was probably the best I ever tasted! We were even gifted a glass of champagne since I mentioned that it was our anniversary weekend. The whole experience was wonderful - cozy seating, cute decor, and great service. Service was top notch. They give you complimentary French bread to start. For an appetizer, I had the artichoke crostini. As the entree, I ordered the fish special, and it was an excellent preparation. Dessert- the specialty- chocolate mousse. Definitely recommend and would return to if in the area. read more

Food was upscale and wonderful: Filet Mignon, Beef Bourginion (can't remember how to spell this classic French dish, but suffice it to say that it is beef and mushrooms in a rich gravy over egg noodles. The surprise was a second "finishing" sauce on the side that gave it a creamy ending) We were happy campers after our entrees, but the Bread Pudding for dessert sent us into Nirvana... I don't understand why no one has reviewed Bon Appetit. It is easily the best restaurant in Seaford, and maybe the best in Lower Delaware. It is the definition of fine dining. Last week when we were there, the specials included October seasonal fare. The Wiener Schnitzel Holstein was among the best I've ever had. The wine list is excellent. My husband and I came here for my birthday back in March of this year. The food was amazing. I got the 5 course dinner and everything was great. My first time having carrot soup and it was so good.
