I just wasn't in love with how they did the sushi. I got a sashimi combo and lemme tell you...the plating was mesmerizing! I won't include the picture because you have to see it live. However, they had a kind of sweet rub on all of the different cuts; it wasn't bad! But just not my cup of tea, because it made all the different cuts taste the same n I wanted to be able to better discern between the types. That being said, it was an amazing experience and you should definitely try this spot!

Everything was packaged well. I think one of the good things with each of the rolls is that they weren't falling apart while we were eating which was great. The futomaki was a good palette cleanser between rolls with some nice pickled veggies. The vegetable dragon was pretty good but probably would've been better fresh. I didn't get much from the eggplant tempura either and couldn't find it in the roll. The green valley roll was also pretty good as far as balance and the ingredients but the spicy sauce was kind of a miss for me. My partner said the saba bento hit the spot and the nigiri tasty. Pretty solid for takeout. Certainly nice to have a decent option nearby.

My food was still warm when I got home!!! Shocker! My go to is their ramen! I like the spice to it and they give it to you with a small bowl! My partner got their lion roll which was delicious !!! Forgot the name of the other roll. Service was great as always, the staff has always been friendly and accommodating when we go. The inside renovation is nice! Feels super upscale but prices have remained consistent which is a bonus. If you haven't gone here you should!

Updating prior review…read more.. I used to come here a lot and really enjoyed it. Decided to give them a try after going to some other sushi places for a bit, so it was a nostalgia trip. They have also just completed an expansion and remodel which added more seating, and opened up the restaurant with a bit. They still use the iPad based ordering system which I always like, since it allows for better pacing. While before I praised them, this time left more to be desired. The sheen seems to have come off. Not sure if they changed chefs, but fish did not seem as fresh, sauces were a lot more heavy handed (overkill), and it just didn't feel as clean tasting as it used to. Maybe an off night, but not nearly as good as I remembered it to be. They have more cute robots now - and the bee decor makes it feel more like a proper restaurant. Though they have a wide menu - I would probably encourage sushi lovers to look elsewhere. The ramen, fried rice, dumplings and bento boxes are probably a stronger suit here now. They also seem to be doing a lot of take out service now as well.

The sushi place I went to the previous night left me unsatisfied and yearning for more and better sushi. As an introvert, I prefer to come to restaurants on their off hours. To my surprise, even at 1:30 PM the place was busy. There were plenty of tables, but there were also plenty of patrons. Most of them were Korean, which is always a good sign when you go to a Korean/Japanese restaurant. The server and she was the only one was extremely nice. In her younger days, I'm sure she would've passed for a K-pop star. I knew what I wanted from the menu because I searched their website the night before. I ordered the 25 piece sashimi dish. It comes with a salad and miso soup. The salad was tasty with a nice light dressing that didn't overpower the other foods. The miso soup was perfect. It was not too salty as the other place that I had visited. The star of the afternoon was the sashimi plate. It came out on the bed of ice that was huge! My eyes bulged when I saw how much food was on there. In today's shrink-flation I was expecting smaller portions but I was wrong. There were so many varieties of fish that all tasted amazing. I'm not a big fan of octopus, but this one was perfect. It wasn't chewy and the sizes were small enough to fit in my mouth without feeling like I ate a large rubber band. I'm not sure of all the fish that were on there, but most of them would qualify as my favorites. I'm so glad they did not add the omelette thingy that I absolutely hate. Between the sashimi, the miso soup, and the salad I was completely satisfied and happy. I know there are other places in Santa Rosa that are probably better, but this will be my go to place when I'm craving sushi sashimi. They also have Korean dishes, but I've not tried any of them yet. Perhaps the next visit, I will try them out. Maybe what I will do is order the smaller 15 pieces and add a Korean dish. Many thanks to the chefs and the server for a magnificent experience.g

Our cook was excellent and food was actually better than I anticipated. Could there be some improvements? Absolutely, but for the most part it was very good. Service was also good. The issue I've always had here is the ambiance is so poor it takes away from the experience. When you walk in the bar is front and center but feels very unwelcoming. It's pretty dark inside but was very clean. One thing to be aware of because it's different than most hibachi places I've been too, meal does not include fried rice in the hibachi price, only steamed. And for an additional $7 we all passed on that, prices are high enough for what you actually get. You're paying for the show. They do have kids eat free on Tuesday so we will come back then with the grandkids soon!

The four of them fell in love with sushi and this has been our all you can eat spot for many years. We've split our time over the years at the Petaluma location, here on Montgomery and the one in Railroad square. This place is the closest to our home. The people are always welcoming, warm and attentive. The Sushi we are big fans of and more importantly has become that place for our big family to break bread or a roll together. This location has a full bar and has the hibachi set up if that's more your jam. This visit we celebrated son #2's 27th birthday. Again just a very special place for us. We'll be back. If you plan to do all you can eat it does get expensive if there's a lot of you but sushi is normally more expensive then most other restaurant entrees.
