Second time doing take out here. OK food. Placed an order online for a yaki udon for pick up. Arrived earlier than expected and called them. They quickly pushed the order out. Large portions comes with spinach salad, bean sprouts, large side salad and side of white rice for $22. The yaki udon had chicken, shrimp, carrots, mushrooms, cucumbers, lettuce. Taste was fine, a bit on the bland side. My concern was the noodles was chow mein noodles and wasn't udon. It satisfied my noodle craving for stir fried noodles. Our first visit here was quite successful. It was a quiet night with few guests so it was easy to chat and get good service. We shared numerous rolls and like them all. Our favorite was Hot Mamacita (tempura shrimp, spicy tuna and avocado). It had a nice bite without being overpowering. The miso soup was yummy with bites of mushroom for a nice change. Wow, that was an amazing lunch! I've never been here before but I came across it on Yelp searching for bento boxes. I ordered the 3 item box with teriyaki beef, lemon chicken and mixed tempura. It also included soup and salad. I also ordered a spider roll. When I returned to my office and opened the bag I honestly wasn't expecting much. Reason being, every item from the bento box was in a separate container. Most places to go boxes have multi compartments for the items. So I grabbed a plate and placed the rice, lemon chicken and teriyaki steak on it. The salad and mixed tempura were in a separate container as well as the spider roll. So I sort of set up an assembly line of containers lol! Took a bite of the teriyaki steak, tender, perfectly cooked and the sauce was spot on. Then on to the lemon chicken. Breading was just enough, not too thick. Chicken cooked almost perfect, maybe 45 seconds less. Still it was delicious and the lemon sauce was delicious! Dove into the tempura, again perfect batter, perfect cook on the veggies and the shrimp. Next move was the salad, yummy dressing! Much different than other places I've gone. At the end of the assembly line was the spider roll. I put some wasabi on it, and lemme tell you, their wasabi is no joke. It's not hella weak like so many places are. Theirs has an immediate kick that surprised me but it wasn't over bearing. It's almost like it knew when to stop and that bite was just off the hook a party in my mouth. I'll definitely be back here and I highly recommend it. When was the last time you saw my give a 5 star rating. Every bite of every bit of my food today was delicious! Thank you for an amazing lunch. My first visit. The food & service are impressively good. Scanning the menu, I thought that the prices were a bit on the high side compared to the other Japanese restaurants in Santa Rosa. But then the various dishes in my 3 course meal started to arrive tableside. Gee, gosh, good golly! Look at the size of the portions. This is a hungry man satisfier meal. Bambie ordered more sensibly and she still took home half her meal. Though I love and eat sushi often, I do like Japanese noodle dishes, hibachi cooked items. The back kitchen here makes flavorful, bold tasting items. Service folks are nice, friendly & informative. And there were plenty of them on the floor on a Wednesday evening. The service was immediate, and the check backs to survey our satisfaction were frequent. Water & tea glasses constantly filled. Dining room is white maple wood lined. The entire room feels fresh.
