I had the Pad See Ew with chicken. The spices tasted perfectly authentic to me. The chicken itself was a bit tough--felt like it might have been cooked ahead of time and rewarmed--but not a deal-breaker. I just pushed it to the side and kept going. Baan Thai's service was exemplary, our water glasses were refilled regularly and even our last minute request to split our check three ways didn't take the smile from our server's kind face. The tip we left was well deserved. The ambiance is family-friendly and upbeat, and I love the happy sound of good conversation and laughter. Baan Thai's dining room sounded great! After a long hike my friend and I were ravished so decided to try the lunch special here. I had the spicy garlic eggplant- I didn't taste much spice but was good. My mom and I were actually going to hit up another restaurant but it was closes so we came to Baan Thai and I'm very glad we did! My go-to is always Pad See-ew with shrimp and so that's what I got here. My mom got the Ginger Lovers dish with chicken. We were here around noon and opted for the lunch dishes instead of dinner entrees. I've had a lot of noodle dishes recently at various places and this was certainly the best. Big wide noodles with just the right amount of sauce, and all the noodles coated nicely without them sticking together like they do sometimes. Great vegetables in my dish. The side-salad that came with it was also tasty and refreshing. It came with a largely mayo based dressing, which my mom and I enjoyed. Overall I would for sure come here again. Tucked away in the Molesberry Market shopping center, we discovered Baan Thai, in our new neighborhood, and decided to give it a try. What a delightful surprise! A tiny place, but the flavors were epic! We started with chicken satay, which was very tender, well cooked and delicious with peanut sauce I ended up finishing off w a spoon. The cucumber salad was just the right mix of sweet and vinegar. But the Tom Ka - coconut/lemongrass soup was stunning! The depth of flavors was amazing. We loved it. And the 'cup' we ordered would be a full bowl anywhere. My litmus test for a Thai restaurant is what their Pad Thai is like. Having had disappointing gummy noodles and bland sauce in previous restaurants, I was hopeful that this tiny place, doing so well so far, would not be disappointing. And it was not! The Pad Thai was perfect!! Excellent noodles bathed in delicious sauce with all the extras there to enjoy. As if that wasn't enough, the pumpkin curry was the topper. BaanThai has been a staple of my in laws for many many years, one we're fortunate enough to partake in often when visiting them. They have some of the best Thai food around at reasonable prices with an incredibly kind staff. I am actually quite shocked to see anything less than 4.4 stars, as they are consistently excellent and we can't get enough. Their Tom Kah is one of my favorites, really combining everything you'd expect sweet, salty, spicy, sour, umami. A perfect soup in my opinion. I also love their pad Thai and all their curries. My wife loves their drunken noodles. The Thai iced tea is also excellent as it's the only one around that isn't cloyingly sweet (it's still sweet but not too much). Their desserts are always fantastic, we love their mango sticky rice, it's fantastic! Quite by chance I discovered this little gem for lunch. It's kind of hidden away in a shopping center in Larkfield, near Santa Rosa. A nearby merchant recommended it and that's how I discovered the restaurant. Clean and welcoming, and the owner was the gracious server. Lots of variety on the menu, and a respectable wine list. I can honestly say that I love this place! I'm very picky on Thai food mainly because we had a place called sister kitchen back home that was phenomenal and I have to compare every place to that. I just tried this place today for lunch for the first time because a co-worker recommended it. The current owner has been in business since January 2023. I see 99% of the 1 star reviews are from the previous ownership, and this place was closed for 2 years until the new owner took over this year. Since I haven't eaten here before I have nothing to compare too, but I picked up lunch for 7 people in the office today and the food was amazing. Very friendly family that owns and operates this restaurant. If you have been here prior to January 2023 I suggest you give this place another try, the food is so good! Forever on the search for the best Thai in Santa Rosa, this might come pretty close. Their Pad See Eew is delicious. The noodles are tender (always what I critique first, and the most), the chicken is also. I don't love how many bell peppers are included, but I can pluck them out. I've gotten the Pad Thai once or twice, but that can't live up to my favorite, in San Rafael. However, Baan Thai has Tom Kha Gai to die for. It is so delicious I don't even know how to describe it. The pad thai and Gang Gari were delicious, but I would not get the spring rolls again - too much rice and barely any meat. Pro tip: order rice for the gang gari. We totally spaced and missed that. This is probably the best Thai food I've had here in Santa Rosa. If not, the North Bay Area. We were welcomed in and was sat immediately. I believe this business is family owned. The staff were all so friendly and felt bad when we had to wait 15, maybe 20 minutes for our food. They were so apologetic about it but we didn't mind because we've had worse service elsewhere that took us an hour of wait time and the food was mediocre. But this restaurant, no way! Their dishes were amazing. We had coconut prawns (which were okay), Thai Basil which was probably our favorite, Pad C'ew (such great comfort dish), and Drunken Noodles (if you can handle spice and heat, this is probably your type of dish). Everything had the perfect amount of seasoning and taste. Fresh too! The ambiance is nice as well! Nice relaxing music and the place had low lighting. I heard about this place on our local radio station to try it so when I was in the neighborhood after a doctor's appointment I popped over there for dinner. My wife went there for lunch a few days ago and raved about it, so I said "Let's go!" I don't pretend to be a Thai cuisine expert, so I can't address how creative or "authentic" the menu is, but it met my two requirements: flavorful sauces and perfectly cooked fresh vegetables.
