Spicy Eggplant
Lisa W.

After a long hike my friend and I were ravished so decided to try the lunch special here. I had the spicy garlic eggplant- I didn't taste much spice but was good. I loved the green salad that accompanied the meal. The Thai coffee was nice and strong. Just wish the glass wasn't filled with ice to the brim. Nice interior decor. Our server was friendly.

I was too lazy to cook today, so I stopped by my favorite spot and ordered my togo lab pork and sticky rice. I couldn't even wait to get home I ended up eating near the grocery shopping center because it smelled so good! This dish never disappoints. It's packed with flavor and always gives me a boost of energy. The owner was super nice and friendly, and the atmosphere was really welcoming and comfortable. I'll definitely be coming back. Highly recommend!

My mom and I were actually going to hit up another restaurant but it was closes so we came to Baan Thai and I'm very glad we did! My go-to is always Pad See-ew with shrimp and so that's what I got here. My mom got the Ginger Lovers dish with chicken. We were here around noon and opted for the lunch dishes instead of dinner entrees. I've had a lot of noodle dishes recently at various places and this was certainly the best. Big wide noodles with just the right amount of sauce, and all the noodles coated nicely without them sticking together like they do sometimes. Great vegetables in my dish. The side-salad that came with it was also tasty and refreshing. It came with a largely mayo based dressing, which my mom and I enjoyed. Overall I would for sure come here again. Very delicious and fresh food!

Favorite is their fresh spring roll with shrimp with peanut sauce. Also yellow curry and shrimp and Tom kho soup! I travel for work finding a good Thai place is hard! This is my third time coming here and will be going back for more!

Quite by chance I discovered this little gem for lunch. It's kind of hidden away in a shopping center in Larkfield, near Santa Rosa. A nearby merchant recommended it and that's how I discovered the restaurant. Clean and welcoming, and the owner was the gracious server. Lots of variety on the menu, and a respectable wine list. I tried a New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc that I would definitely order again. Shrimp spring rolls, a generous serving, were fresh and tasty, especially with the yummy peanut sauce. Noodles. Yes, there were noodles, and I tried the yellow curry noodles. Oh! Again, a generous portion. And reasonable pricing.

I can honestly say that I love this place! I'm very picky on Thai food mainly because we had a place called sister kitchen back home that was phenomenal and I have to compare every place to that. This place was so good you could taste all the flavors in layers, and it tasted fresh and clean... Simply amazing! But I don't live in Pismo Beach anymore. Now that I live in Northern California, I am constantly seeking new restaurants, and I also travel for a living. I came across Baan Thai and it is really good! Very fresh tasting with layers of flavor.

The food here is absolutely wonderful, every bite has a savoring flavor that will excite your every tastebud. The service was perfect and the owner is a very polite person whom will cater to your every need. A delightful ambiance with peaceful music and decorations that will please the sight. Parking is ample and easy to get in and out. This fine resturaunt offers take out orders. It has been a pleasure and an honor to be served here.

The food is very large portions but not over the top with flavor. Half of the dining room is very casual and older, the other half is more traditional and unique where you sit on the floor. It's great for a quick lunch but not where I would go for celebration or hosting guests. The service is very good though and they are very kind and attentive! I would say that's the 4th star is the service.

The Panang Curry was delicious - vegan-friendly (no oyster sauce) and served with a very generous portion and a proper veg-to-tofu ratio. The Drunken Noodles was well-balanced with plenty of veggies, and the Spring Rolls had a good crunch (and I appreciated that they were mushroom-free). The pricing is the main drawback. At $20 per entree, it's a steep ask for the average diner. Even in high-end SF neighborhoods, you can often find comparable quality for less. Bottom Line: I would love to return, but the pricing isn't sustainable for regular visits. I'd definitely be back if the price point better matched the local area and the current state of the economy.

To start, I would order a green Thai tea (not overly sweet - just perfect). Then, I would get the fried calamari, beef pad Thai, tom yum noodle hot pot, and some sushi roll. This restaurant is in the Safeway plaza on Marlow, so there is plenty of parking. If you are considering Thai or sushi for your next meal, I highly recommend this restaurant!

They charged $4 for shrimp on the salad, which is perfectly fine, except I got 3 shrimp for $4. And the salad itself was just kind of bland like they didn't taste their sauce or just don't care, and was a small portion. Nothing seemed chilled, just room temp. Ninja roll was nice. The lemon slices had lots of seeds, which is acceptable enough but just lazy. Tom kha soup was nice. Loved the mushrooms. Eggplant was very good, pretty small portion though. Crispy shrimp rolls were very good, weirdly small/thin. Cabbage is not that expensive of a filler Service was friendly enough. Nice and clean inside. Will try this place again. Probably won't bother for a 3rd

The service is quick and attentive, without feeling rushed. The menu offers a wide variety of Southeast Asian dishes that are authentic, fresh, and booming with flavor. My favorite dish is the coconut chicken noodle soup because the broth is rich and creamy with a depth of coconut. I love that you can mix and match different noodle options with your choice of soup base. The Thai tea I ordered was another standout, not watered down or overly sweet. Just the right balance. Drink orders we taken right away, appetizers ordered once drinks were delivered. We needed extra time to decide on entrees because one of us were undecided. Everyone enjoyed their meals: Crispy Taro Rolls, Little Baskets, English Cucumber + Avocado Salad, Khao Piak Special, Duck Confit Noodle Soup, Spicy Curry Noodle Soup, Pork Belly Rice Bowl, Drunken Noodles, Pad Thai. We had a few different servers and service could have been better. We had to ask for more drinks and utensils. I didn't like that 20% gratuity was added to the bill, especially when service wasn't stellar. Food is still excellent.
