    Salad

Found this little gem after flying into Denver airport. The owner was friendly & provided good insights since two of us hadn't had Perisian food before! So, I cannot compare this to other Perisian foods. But, service was impressive! My son snd I loved the chicken kabobs and my husband felt same about the beef! Even the rice was so good. Were travelling so no leftovers and portions were big. The lemonade with rose water was so refreshing and not too sweet or sour!

Not bad overall, but not spectacular either. Had the koobideh salad which was decent. My partner's dish however just didn't hit right. Usually when going to Mediterranean, I'm expecting rice that's a bit more buttery and has a slight bite to it. However, the rice felt like it was overcooked and also bland/flavorless/watery. And the chicken was also just very meh. Honestly would give just 3 stars for the food, but bumping it up another star because the service was nice. They threw in an extra dessert because we waited extra despite calling ahead, and they also have healthcare worker discounts which was nice :) the place looks like it's undergoing some renovations too as there are some noticeable holes in the wall that are just covered up.

This place was a nice little surprise. We were headed to microcenter and looking for a close place to eat, so we gave this a try. It was nearly empty on Saturday at lunch, but I hope they are busier at other times. Our lunch specials were delicious and filling, but I was disappointed that I had to get fries because they were out of their salad. Their special lemonade was wonderful. I would go back just for that. The service was also friendly and prompt. This was a tasty diamond in the rough.

The Lamb Doner Plate - The portion is big; the Dolma(s) is/are absolutely delicious. I could only eat half of the meal in one sitting!

Beef shish kebab plate I ordered for to go the other night was so supreme. It's generously portioned with a reasonable price. What amazed me was the fluffy and yet moist rice that was perfectly cooked. The man behind the ordering counter was professional and courteous. Upon showing my $10 bday coupon he immediately applied the discount to my bill. This restaurant is almost always empty however no matter when I go here. Such was the case when I was here to place the very to go order. It's clean where it doesn't look like anyone dines in; they must het a lot of walk -n to-go or online orders (that's got to be the main source of their business. However, during the peak time in the weekdays, they may get dine-in customers from the nearby businesses; I truly hope so. I continue to support this business as I trust their service and quality.

Purchased takeout from here to try at home! I'm Persian and have been craving good Persian food here in denver. So happy I finally tried this place because the filet kabob and rice were PHENOMENAL. I also ordered ghormeh sabzi too which was very very tasty. Can't wait to return and try more from the menu.

Shondiz is really a catering company with a small restaurant space. Don't get me wrong the food is fantastic but if you come in expecting a romantic dining experience....It aint going to happen. The four of us opted for the Family feast...which it is...and a good deal. You get a lovely Hummus and yogurt appetizer with fresh pita, a massive plate of lamb, steak, and chicken cooked to perfection, wonderful saffron basmati rice, and dessert. Our waiter was out of sorts and the meal missed things...as they are really not setup to facilitate dinners. But the owner, Mohammad, is such a wonderful warm guy you just go with it. I would definitely come back for a great meal

Small menu means they know what they're doing! It shows! Delicious food and awesome service! Carefully curated plate a Persian restaurant with the most tastiest meat ever! The Koobideh ( ground beef) and Chicken Kabob ( joojeh)charbroiled, was so tasty plus the Lamb! It was the best lamb in recent memory! The Basmati Saffron Rice was unbeatable in taste. The grilled tomato and charred jalapeño on the side were an added bonus. The Smoky Eggplant( Mirza Ghasemi) and house made hummus. The is smoked and so delicious. Roasted tomato, garlic and Himalayan Salt, with a plateful of warm pita bread. The hummus was creamy and so tasty! I'm thinking of returning when I walked out their door!

This is what $26 gets you in totality. 5 slivers of low grade beef. Also, it wasn't good. I understand the difference between small local restaurants trying to survive vs trying to take advantage. This is most definitely the latter.

Really tasty and unique dishes here! The Persian lemonade is amazing. They are known for their kabobs so make sure you try those. Quiet atmosphere and good service :)

Shondiz is this cute little Persian Grill you can eat indoors outdoors or takeout. The portions were huge and we had enough to share with our friends. The people working here were so friendly and it all came out in a timely manner as well. Everything was fresh hot and yummy. Check out my photos below I highly recommend the baklava of course !

My favorite was the spicy chicken with saffron rice. The rice was so flavorful. The samosa and falafel appetizer was really fresh and not oily at all which I appreciate. I placed an Uber Eats order, but within about two minutes I experienced a serious emergency and had no choice but to cancel it. I immediately called the restaurant and explained the situation, hoping they would show some understanding. Instead, I was met with zero compassion from the owner, Moe. The restaurant was also close to closing when I placed my order. There is simply no way an entire chicken meal was fully prepared within two minutes. Despite that, I was still charged $41. Since I had already paid for the order, I asked if I could at least pick up the food myself instead of letting it go to waste. The owner , Moe, refused. So not only did I lose my $41, but I also wasn't allowed to receive the food that I had already paid for. That is incredibly frustrating and unfair. I understand businesses have cancellation policies, but there should also be room for common sense and compassion. Emergencies happen, and I canceled almost immediately after placing the order. Instead of trying to help or work with me, I was treated like my situation didn't matter at all. This experience left me feeling completely dismissed and taken advantage of. Customer service is about treating people with respect, especially when unexpected situations arise. Unfortunately, I received none of that. I will never order from Sahara Restaurant again, and I cannot recommend a business that shows so little empathy for its customers. There are many restaurants that value their customers and would have tried to find a fair solution. Sadly, this was not one of them.

And I simply couldn't think of ordering anything else but delicious food from my favorite Zaytoon Mediterranean Grill to satisfy my Medi craving. At that moment, I listened to my inner voice. Today, what I got were: -Lentils Soup -Mixed Appetizers -Sambusa Potato Lentil Soup is very simple and yet it's got some character to it. Lightly seasoned, and I probably liked it very much because of that;. Without using a lot of salt it holds a good balance of flavors mostly from the main ingredient: lentils. I waited until it was lukewarm so I could "drink" out of the container. It had a hint of lemon taste which I noticed as I slowly chugged it (lol!!) Well-made soup indeed. Sambusa Potato was exactly what I had expected. Again, not salty at all but not bland either. Good portion size. This is one of the staple items off the menu which I always order. Mixed Appetizers were quite amazing and this is now my favorite dish. The restaurant was so generous. They put more than enough pita bread slices for it. We ordered a koobideh sandwich with fries, an Adana kebab plate with baba ghanoush, and a salad. My husband asked if we could have a traditional Turkish shepherd's (çoban) salad, but instead we received a few slices of tomato and cucumber served alongside a single skewer of beef. To make matters worse, the koobideh and Adana turned out to be the exact same kebab. When we asked, the server confirmed they were essentially the same item with different names. The baba ghanoush was served by itself with nothing to eat it with. When we requested bread, we were given a microwaved pita and charged an additional $3. Our total bill was $39, which might sound reasonable, but the value simply wasn't there. The server repeatedly mentioned how understaffed they were, there was no traditional Turkish salad on the menu, and dips were served without bread unless you paid extra. Overall, the experience fell far short of expectations. There are much better places in Denver to spend your money.
