Other than the waiter who helped served us, everything else is overhyped and overpriced. I was there waited for 2 hours on a Saturday night. I guess it was expected. We were there excited to try this new location in Jersey city, but the soup bases are meh. Quantity is not matching with what we paid for. It was just not a great experience for me personally. Personally I would not returned.

There will come a day when Shoo Loong Kan makes it to 4+ stars (being that it's pretty much the only legit hot pot spot in downtown JC right now), but today is not the day. The clearly under-staffed, overwhelmed shop felt like the "before" scene of a Valium commercial before the beleaguered heroine serer takes her medicine and all's right with the world. Except we didn't get any downers and mostly just got jostled and bumped a lot until we were done. Anywho, broth-wise, the House Special Chili Broth delivers the LA in mala, and sensitive stomachs should definitely pre-game with Tums beforehand. The Pork Rib Broth is classic bone broth goodness and definitely the way to complement if you're opting for yin yang-style hot pot. Al the ingredients we got came out fresh and firm, but there was one odd item none of us could figure out. It LOOKED like soft tofu, but was much harder, with an almost cartilage consistency. No idea what it was, but none of us died from eating it, so I'd consider that a winner. Also, they don't offer bok choy. How does a Chinese hot pot spot not have bok choy. Boooooo! Boo in the name of the cabbage family!!! Also boooo for charging $2.99pp for the sauce bar--a feature that's free in every other hot pot restaurant. They do try to sweeten the deal by also including small appetizers (spicy pig ears, seaweed salad) and desserts (weird-flavored jelly, sliced oranges, blueberries), but none of them were very good so I'd still grumble about the charge.

This is the best hotpot in jersey city hands down!! Beware spicy can get super spicy but so delicious.

Delicious! The meat quality is excellent. I recommend the A5 beef chuck and 扭转乾坤. My favorite soup bases are the tomato, coconut chicken

Warning on spice level--unless you're in it for the pain, I'd pick one of the non-spicy soup bases.

It was empty…read moreand the girl serving us was the only one there and didn't really provide us with customer service. We had to wait 15 minutes just for our sodas. The dishes are very unique in cultural sourcing - it's not what you expect of a regular Chinese restaurant. The servings are HUGE and good for 2 servings. The ambiance is not that great even though there's a big space and there was a lot of junk sitting around the place like extra stock of drinks and boxes all over the place. I don't think people really eat-in here. When I did takeout, it was still not worth the price of other similar restaurants in the area. Also this place doesn't have combinations sold together -- you have to buy rice on the side for EVERY dish which is not a traditional way to serve each dish in general. The prices here are not worth trying it - way overpriced and overcharged! Should be more affordable since we do not get the rice with the combination plates.

Staff was good, they can speak in English and Mandarin. The inside was very quiet. I was surprised no one was dining inside considering the quality of the food was decent.

I asked for a side of chili sauce which elevated them. The soy ginger sauce they give for it were excellent as well. The sauces elevated an average dumpling. The crab rangoons were the star of the dinner. The filling was scallion heavy over sweet which I personally enjoy more. It didn't come with sweet and sour but using the soy ginger sauce was great with them. Some of the best I've had. The chongqing chicken was definitely on the spicy side so be aware. I'm the biggest issue was that the chicken was dry. Wish there was a type of sauce that came with this. This place was good but i don't know if I would order from them again
