If you don't know any Chinese , you can order using the QR code in the app. They have classics like General Gao chicken. Everything here is fish themed, including the chopsticks, spoons, and plates. The paintings have pandas playing mahjong, but there's no mahjong here. I'd say the food isn't too spicy here, but of you're weak, you can order more rice. The truffle rice doesn't have real truffle probably, but it's pretty interesting flavor. Very light and not too oily. The fatty beef in golden soup is probably the best.

As a Jersey City native if I want good szcechaun food I usually have to go to Palisades Park, or Fort Lee to get what I want. This place changed that. The service is incredibly quick, great atmosphere. Even if you don't like tofu try the Mapo Tofu. The flavor was so intense and coated my tongue in a way where I thought my water had salt in it. Don't sleep on this spot. Come with a friend, order a big pot and go to town.

Mala boiled Basa fish and stir fried bean dish was awesome. I wish i had gone up a notch for spice level. There wasnt any bamboo shoot but bean sprouts is what I think they meant from the Mala boiled fish&tofu menu.

The ambiance, service and food are top notch. The fish is the star of the show. Their chopsticks and silverware are fish themed which is cute. It feels like it would be one of their speciality dishes. It reminds me of Szechuan mountain house in the city with the utensils and everything. The pumpkin soup was a nice top off as well. It was creamy and sweet like a dessert. Amazing restaurant. Will come again and would recommend. It's a great and welcome addition to the jersey city food scene

Review of takeout experience: First, everything is well packed. The fish dishes are in large containers (heavy!) and covered in plastic wrap to prevent spillage. All fish dishes (golden, tomato, and mala) were excellent! Tender and flavorful fish, vegetables, and broth (please note the broth has a lot of oil and I don't think it's intended to drink, but rather as a complement to the rice and other stuff but I could be wrong). The tomato dish was exactly as described - tangy and a little sweet. It comes with these wide chewy noodles that were delicious. It was not spicy at all. The golden fish has mustard greens, as well as the fish/tofu etc. It is described as slightly spicy and it definitely packs a small kick of numbing goodness. The soup dumplings were delicate and perfectly balanced, with a rich, flavorful filling and just the right amount of broth inside. The golden fish completely stole the show -- the broth alone is worth coming back for. It's deeply savory, aromatic, and layered with flavor in a way that feels both comforting and exciting. I almost didn't want to do a review to keep this local Jersey City gem a secret. It appears to be. A hole in the wall but it's one of the best and Chinese restaurants I've been to here in the US for some time now. While they have Americanized dishes for the less daring. But by all means, no matter what your taste buds, try the golden fish. Out of this world! read more

This is our 3rd time back! They added more to their menu since opening week. The portions are great, food is always delicious, customer service is top notch. We BYOB some soju this time and had a delicious dinner as usual. This is now one of our go to spots! We had their garlic shrimp vermicelli, the chengdu style golden fish soup (add the assorted mix of veggies and potato noodles!), the crab roe silken tofu, the sliced fish with tomato soup, dry green beans, golden crunch kung pao shrimp. We ordered the Truffle Fried Rice, String Beans, and Mapo Tofu, all to be made vegetarian. The food took about 20-30 min to arrive. All of the dishes were flavorful, delicious, and pretty big portions for reasonable prices. The dishes are all a bit too oily for my taste but you can ask to adjust amount of oil. Towards the end, I tasted meat and double-checked with the waiter, and it turned out he didn't realize that we wanted Truffle Fried Rice to be vegetarian as well. Both he and the restaurant manager apologized multiple times. The manager comped our meal and also offered a gift card for the misunderstanding. Will definitely come back for the flavorful food and excellent customer service.

The ambiance is not that great even though there's a big space and there was a lot of junk sitting around the place like extra stock of drinks and boxes all over the place. I don't think people really eat-in here. When I did takeout, it was still not worth the price of other similar restaurants in the area. Also this place doesn't have combinations sold together -- you have to buy rice on the side for EVERY dish which is not a traditional way to serve each dish in general. The prices here are not worth trying it - way overpriced and overcharged! Should be more affordable since we do not get the rice with the combination plates.
