It is no accident there was NO LINE at dinner time on a Wednesday night, the community must already be aware the Gen whateverZ have absolutely no customer service or common sense when handling online ordering, preparation and presentation of orders. My 12 year old had online order number on her phone, two (2) standard boxes with two (2) 24 oz drinks, " to go." How do YOU think this order should be packaged? Well, I instructed my daughter to grab the order as I went to the lavatory and I would meet her at a nearby table. As I approached the counter, I saw her ask for a drink holder. And then I saw her attempt to stack the boxes atop the other!!! Wth???? Hold up, Baby Girl??!!! "XqquuuZzee mee?? Please may she have a bag???" My child says, " I got it!" " I'm sure you do. Wejust spent $30 here on 2 meals and you are here alone. The least they can do is offer you a drink carrier and food carrier!" The counter clerk gives me the bag, I say TY, pack it, and turn to leave. Another staff says something to that clerk, who then turns to me," what name is the order under?" I give them my name. And walk away. In most work situations, these are training issues, and I have great compassion for ignorance. However, upon observation the patron appeared to be struggling with gathering and collecting the order in their possession therefore the transaction has not been completed yet. My daughter is my bias. Don't mess with MamaZ Baby!!!

L & L Hawaiian Barbecue is a tried and true place for plate lunches and it did not disappoint. The food was fresh and hot - and as a former resident of Oahu, mac salad and rice is a treat. For a burger rush, we ate the Mahaloha burger - certified Angus beef and again, it was hot and delicious. Their fries were great as well. My brother-in-law asked about a malasadas and told him that it is more or less a doughnut but was brought to Hawaii by the Portuguese who came to work the fields back a hundred or so years ago. It's sold all over the islands now. When I lived here in the '70's, a food truck parked itself in a parking lot and people lined up to buy it. When they ran out, that was it until the next time and it was not everyday. Penny's malasadas was good and delicious. It was hot and sooo ono, as we say it in the islands! There's a price to pay for the delicious food though - and it's not cheap! So go try, yeah!

It's not completely Chinese per se because, for example, the Food Hall is more global in scope in order to cater to more international tourists. Filipino, Korean, and Thai eateries are next to burger and burrito stands. There's even a Maguro Brothers outlet offering fresh poke bowls and sashimi plates. Chinese delectables, of course, are fully represented here with popular kiosks dedicated to dim sum and Chinese-style BBQ. Adding to the full Chinatown vibe around the corner is the expansive Open Market where local customers shop for fresh meats, produce, and seafood all out on full display. However, the most inviting space is the outdoor courtyard surrounded by various gift shops and anchored by tables with shade umbrellas and a clock tower. RELATED - Exploring Hawaii? Towards the back there is a fish market, where the fish are so fresh and I guess you could say the displays were beautiful. Outside of the main food court area are some vendors.
