The complaint was then filed with the Norfolk District Attorney's office. I spent a lot of time writing and editing letters to their office so as not to leave out any details of what transpired. The written response from Eli- denied that he told me twice that he put a new battery in the car which I didn't even ask for. I didn't ask for money for a new battery in the complaint, but did ask for the money for an alarm I had installed (he intimated that there was an alarm in the car and a co-worker told me that if someone broke into the car an alarm would go off)-the car didn't have an alarm system. Some of what was written in his response did not make any sense, probably just avoidance. Several people that I have run into in town have not had positive experiences with the mechanical part of the business-it isn't appropriate for me to state what they have said on the internet, Also, I was at a local store where he does business often and an employee told me he is a "smooth" talker. Lesson learned-get everything in writing-I would have him sign a paper stating that he was going to put a new battery in. When I learned about the false advertising I could have not purchased the car, but everything happened so fast.

He found "nothing" wrong with the car and returned it with the light OFF. We got an inspection sticker the next day and the light came on that day after. It's the same code and the same emissions problem. He unplugged the battery to clear the code and gave the car back to us. The car cost $7,000 and it's $9,000 to fix.
