When I arrived I saw the doctor and we spoke about my vision. At no point did we discuss additional costs nor did anyone else make me aware of any. When I went to the desk to check out the receptionist told me there would be an additional cost of $45 for an initial contact lens verification since it was my first time with Horizon. I told her no one told me about this. She asked if the doctor went over it with me. I said no and she replied that he has to start telling people about this before they leave. I called the office after I left because I didn't think it was right to charge someone after the fact and not even let them know of the cost until they are walking out the door. I just spoke with a manager in billing. He stated that he spoke with Doctor Doughten who stated that he did mention the prices to me and checked off on the paperwork that he went over it. If it wasn't bad enough to charge someone after the fact to lie is another layer. He should have just apologized for the oversight and I would have understood. Be careful if you decide to go to Horizon. Doctor Doughten is more like a child than a professional.
