On the day the job was done, they arrived at 7 AM and proceeded to lay down protective tarps and immediately got to work finishing in about four hours (small house, 3 bedroom ranch). The roofing crew was huge, nine people, and they work feverishly and constantly doing all the needed jobs. By the time the roof was done the area had been completely cleared of debris and put in their dumpster truck to haul away. I even witnessed one worker coming through bushes on the border with my neighbor making sure he got everything that may have blown into the shrubs. The price was reasonable: $7200 for the job on a simple 975 square foot ranch house. They also offered a discount for cash which I waived. I was deeply concerned about hiring a roofer, but they came highly recommended and certainly lived up to the reputation they have built among my friends and Metuchen.

When he came down I showed him quickly two gray colors. All he said was when you get your estimate there will be a figure from Cambridge and a figure for the color you choose of IKO. I asked him to explain this and said we are on a tight budget with me being downsized 6 years ago and pushed into early retirement. He focused on one book with an adhesive under the shingle. I asked, is that how the shingle is held down? HE YELLED AT ME saying I said shingles are nailed down. Being polite and having worked 40 years with professional NYC attorneys I bit it. I asked him bear with me because I I am nervous with a Sloan Kettering Consult next week. He yelled at me I AM NOT INTERESTED IN YOUR PERSONAL PROBLEMS. He had some looks to give my son, who was leaving from lunch from our home that wasn't even addressing him. He entered short on patience walking across our lawn both ways. He never went to the back of the house nor did he measure anything. He was unprofessional, rude, obnoxious, waste of our time and I told him he was rude to me and he defied me arguing. First, he committed to a 5% discount for paying cash which he did *NOT* honor during final payment. Unfortunately, I did not have this agreement in writing. During the purchase Danny said to instead trust him with the 5% discount. For tax purpose he couldn't document the discount. My biggest mistake was trusting someone who asked to be trusted. This should had been a red flag -it is sad to witness dishonest people. Secondly, Danny agreed to postponing the shipping/installation of a shed until the completion of a concrete slab in my yard. Danny than randomly decided to ship the shed; he forgot to inform the builders about our agreement to wait. Instead of admitting to his mistake, Danny blamed having too many sheds to track with an attitude towards me. During the conversation he made me feel as if I were to blame; I was completely confused. I think he was trying to use guilt to convince me to store an unassembled shed on my property until the concrete is ready. He was upset when I didn't agree. Danny finally decided to store the shed somewhere other than my property. Apparently, that cost him therefore he took my 5% discount. Do you think it's my fault? It gets better, several weeks later I followed up with a date to when the concrete slab would be ready. During the conversation I asked Danny for a delivery/installation date, he responded with an attitude (again) and unwilling to give me a date. He stated that he would call me when he is ready, with more attitude. The agony doesn't stop here! He charged me for items that are missing. According to the builders Danny did not include the items into the specification sheet. Oh boy!!! I had to call Danny back after he snatched money out of my hand. He snatched the money after I requested that he clearly writes the warranty on the receipt since he can't be trusted. I was forced to tell a grown man to respect me. This man is out of control. BE CAREFUL!!! I'm not sure how he stays in business. If you wish to hear more, please message me. I have more!! But, I'll leave you with my conclusion. Danny is sloppy, dishonest, disorganize and has a horrible/horrible/horrible attitude. You will notice the second you walk into his shop. If you decide to do business with him, GOOD LUCK!! I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt, and I even went out of my way to help him when I didn't have to. But after everything that's happened, I can't stay silent. It all started out fine. The materials for our metal roof arrived on time, and I was hopeful. But once the installation began, the problems started piling up: Two pipe boots were installed backwards, and all three were done so poorly that they look like someone just globbed on silicone. The last four roof panels were cut too short, so they patched them with extra pieces that look awful. Mike lied about installing a trim kit on our skylight--I had to call him out before he finally admitted it. His workers nailed into our brand-new deck just to hold their ladders up, damaging it. When I brought these issues up to Mike, he promised he would make things right, fix the mistakes, and complete the job--including installing the gutters we had already paid for. Before any of that, though, I did something that, in hindsight, was a huge mistake--I gave him an extra $2,000 in good faith because I felt bad that his workers had screwed him over. I also just wanted to make it easier for him to come back, fix everything, and get this job over with. Unfortunately, that money seemed to take away any sense of urgency on his part. Since December 21, 2024, Mike has told me 11 different times that he or his crew would come to finish the job. No one ever showed up. To make things worse: We never even received materials for the gutters--let alone the installation. A second load of roofing materials was delivered when no one was home, and the delivery truck tore up my neighbor's front lawn. I was incredibly patient, understanding that winter weather could cause delays. But there were plenty of good days when the work could have been done--he just never came back. He knew I would have to write this review if he didn't make things right. He swore, yet again, that someone would come. Then he ghosted me. At this point, all I asked for was the $2,000 I had put down as a deposit for the gutters--the other $2,000 was on me for volunteering it. But when I finally asked for my money back so I could just hire someone else, he stopped responding entirely. I have all the text messages to prove every word of this.
