Inside wall decor. Kinda cool but they need to take care of the plants. Half are fake though.

Fun atmosphere and lots of options on tap. They have great food options, healthy to burger options. I ordered a Beach Bowl with seared tofu in ginger. Sadly there was almost zero ginger taste. The bowl was super good though. Very fresh and a large portion. Could have had some more of the special sauce they put on it but all in all it was super yummy and recommend it for a fresh meal. The service was ok, nothing special from the server, no smiles and straight to business. I did visit the day after July 4th so maybe the workers were tiered. None of the workers seemed to be happy or have energy.

    Delivery truck

The food was good, staff was good, However the ambiance was ruined when their delivery truck decided to show up during lunch rush and made my whole stomach churn. But I am keeping my food and beer down. It's just a bad way of service when the delivery truck is late. Might come back later but if the truck is here still I am going to be more upset then I already am. I am mostly upset because the truck delivery is also causing a disruption to other businesses around. So do better be better.

After a great day of activities is in La Jolla, we had a taste for some fish tacos. This place was perfect. The restaurant/bar has a very cool vibe and is very friendly. Having both the fish tacos in the lobster tacos was the right choice. They were perfectly seasoned, a great portion, and so delicious! This is a great place in La Jolla!

The food was pretty good and you could eat outside on the street. The atmosphere was good. There was food for the kids so they were happy. Make sure to park somewhere you won't get a ticket it's heavily enforced. I had the tuna poke was fresh. My wife had tacos and the kids had a hot dog and quesadillas. Bathroom was clean. Would go back Our waitress was friendly.

Love this restaurant! I was introduced to this place by one of my good friends and now I can't stop coming back. Trust me once you try it, you are going to do the same thing! The food is absolutely delicious! You can go wrong with anything on the menu. Whatever you get will be tasty. Some of their foods you can definitely share with another person so get more than one item so you can try more than one thing! I got the grilled salmon bowl with sticky rice and YUM! It was soooo good!! Definitely going to get that again when I go back. Definitely fills you up. They have different specials everyday with food and drinks. Their drinks and foods aren't expensive and reasonably priced. There is also only street parking but I have never struggled or ever had to circle multiple times. I have always found a spot which is great. Parking isn't bad. The service is excellent! The waiters, waitresses and bartenders are wonderful and absolutely nice! Always helpful and always giving great recommendations and always patient with answering questions or helping out small or large parties. The inside is such a vibe. I loved the whole beach vibe since hence they are close to the beach lol. It's really cute inside. They have plenty of seating with tables, booths and bar seating. You can bring your dogs I have seen and I love it. I honestly love this place so much!

Visited Shore Rider in La Jolla 2 months ago and overall had a nice experience, though there were a few areas that could be improved. The grill wasn't working that day, which was a little disappointing, but the rest of the menu made up for it. The fried chicken sandwich was crisp and light, generous size of fish and chips was crunchy and tasty, while the raw selections were fresh, flavorful, and really showcased the quality of their ingredients. The laid-back, beachside atmosphere is perfect for enjoying seafood, but the service could have been more attentive. We were seated outside, and our server spent most of the time inside, so it sometimes felt like a wait to get checked on. A little more attention would have elevated the experience. Still, Shore Rider has a lot going for it with its tasty seafood and great location, and I'd return, especially to try the grilled items once the kitchen is fully up and running

Shrimp taco + carne asada taco
    Alicia J.

The tacos pictured were tasty but very small. I think a heads up from the server would have been helpful, as they are not a typical size. I ate 4 and had the shrimp and carne asada, they were tasty. The churros are really good, they came out hot and the right amount of crunchy. Arrive early to find free street parking. Service was a bit slower but it was a busier warm Sunday afternoon and she was kind. We sat on the patio bar table and it was warm so we moved inside to cool off. Overall, a really nice spot and I would come back to watch a game here.

Decided to pop in around 12 on a Saturday and we were able to get the last two spots at the bar, it was pretty busy! This spot is a perfect distance from the beach with a several different options on their menu. The aperol spritz's were 7/10, a little heavy on the aperol. The ahi tuna poke bowl was fabulous, and a generously large portion for $21. I loved the wonton chips as an addition. Only complaint would be the edamame being pretty cold, otherwise was great and I'd order it again. My boyfriend enjoyed the tacos, the carne being his favorite and the fish being his least favorite. The breading wasn't crunchy and was a bit thick. Unfortunately though the chips were so thick and seemed to be re-fried. I chipped my front tooth on them :( Our bartenders were really nice & friendly while being busy & quick to make our drinks! Great spot with a cute & casual atmosphere.

Conveniently located next to the beach, this restaurant has a great bar selection and tons of food options for filling up after enjoying La Jolla. I came here at noon on a weekday and really enjoyed how quickly my order was taken and brought out. I came here solo, sat at the bar, and enjoyed the games on the TV along with great poke. The fish was fresh and the portions were bigger than needed. The entire spot is decorated on theme with great beauty vibes and organic easy going furniture.

    At the shore rider bar!!!

Amber, Laura and this team rocked! Found it by accident and turned out to be a gem!!!! Rockin tunes, excellent ambiance and definitely try the traditional poke! Delish!! We are so coming back!

Shorerider sits in a cute, well-lit stretch of La Jolla, surrounded by a lively cluster of restaurants--perfect for a casual evening out. The menu had good variety, and the mezcal-based drink was excellent. Definitely one of the highlights. Tacos were solid, though I wish the salsa had more depth. The chicken quesadilla was also tasty--not overly cheesy, which worked well. Service wasn't bad--understandable given how busy it was--but it did feel a bit stretched at times. One thing to note: even though the place is listed as open till 10 PM, the kitchen stopped taking orders by 9 PM, which was a bit of a letdown. Overall, good food, great drinks, and a lively vibe. A solid 4-star experience--just make sure to get there earlier if you're planning a late dinner!

What are suggested, healthy vegan options (ideally gluten free)?

There are only two options; Buffalo cauliflower minus the blue cheese and Al Pastor Cauliflower Marinated Cauliflower Florets, Chipotle Cream, Pineapple Salsa minus the chipotle cream.

Where's the best bet to park nearby?

Parking can become really frustrating in this area, LOL. Plan to have to drive around a few times! There is a combo of paid and free spaces on the street, just a matter of finding an open one.

The place was lively, but luck was on our side: one perfect booth remained for the four of us sweet seekers. We settled in and immediately starting gabbing (versus checking out the menu). George came over to take our order. Without even glancing at the dessert menu (a bold move, I'll admit), I asked for one of each dessert to share--paired, of course, with a couple glasses of Scarpetta Rosé bubbles (okay so I glanced at te wine menu). Priorities . What arrived was equal parts surprise and delight. First, a charming little glass jar filled with lightly whipped crème fraîche and topped with salted caramel--simple, elegant, and absolutely delicious. And then... the "hamburger." Cue the table going completely silent. Naturally, we had questions. Our server walked us through this masterpiece from the bottom up: a golden caramel cake "bun," topped with a chocolate-coated ice cream "patty," a delicate mango gelée "cheese," and even "pickles" made from matcha cake. Finished with a second warm cake layer and a touch of garnish we were too excited to fully catch--because at that point, we were already diving in. The contrast of warm cake, cool ice cream, and rich chocolate was nothing short of fantastic. Playful, unexpected, and genuinely delicious--exactly the kind of dessert experience you hope to stumble upon. Thank you, The Whaling Bar, for the sweet surprises. We'll absolutely be back--next time for martinis, and I've already been told the duck meatballs are not to be missed.

My husband and I just finished our dinner at Teleferic Barcelona when I suggested we give Raised by Wolves another try - as we had about an hour before picking up the kids. For a Saturday, I was pleasantly surprised that as walk-ups we only had to wait a few minutes before we were seated at the bar inside. While we waited, we enjoyed perusing their bottle selections for purchase and I'm happy to say that playing music slightly louder in the waiting/market area helped dull the sounds from the inside bar. It helps create more of a 'moment' when you sit at the fireplace and slowly turn inside. This time we were seated right at the bar, which was perfect for us. Chuck was our bartender and 10/10 on the cocktails he made. This time, I went with their Tiki Room and my husband an off-menu Boulevardier (which I have to say I'm impressed he knew what that was because even I didn't, lol). Both drinks were perfectly crafted and enjoyed by both of us. We only had a moment for just one drink this time, but I have to say our experience was so much better than our first (perhaps a fluke of an evening). The staff were all welcoming and knowledgable, other guests were dressed well, and the ambiance lent itself to the vibe we were looking for. After doing some homework, I made the connection that Raised By Wolves was part of the hospitality group that also owns Lafayette Hotel, The Baby Grand, Ironside, etc...all locations my husband and I absolutely adore. Happy to support such amazing places around San Diego and I look forward to more!

Trimmings are used from the other steak entrees and the jus was to die for. We also really enjoyed the cabbage with fried garlic chips and homemade chili crisp sauce. Do not forget to get their sourdough which was deliciously crispy on the outside with a brown butter wash. It was quite possibly the best sourdough we have had and well worth the extra stomach space. The frozen dirty martini was a bit overdiluted for our taste so we opted for a classic martini up, which was great. Their cocktail menu is fun and worth trying one or two. We also had some bad luck and the fresh Cacio e Pepe we ordered was inedibly salty. Sole was polite in letting us know how it is prepared and that the pecorino could be a bit salty, unfortunately we have had many variations in the past and were familiar. My husband ordered the Salmon a la Griglia and he really enjoyed it with the risotto. I had the Seafood Cioppino. It had a great deal of seafood including really big mussels, shrimp and salmon. The broth was great too. The service was great and the meal was terrific. It has a nice variety on the menu. It seems to be a popular neighborhood place. we will be back to try some of the other treasures.

Overall my friend and I had a phenomenal time at Le Coq. We shared all the dishes, but every single…read moredish was on point. For starters, we ordered the bread with chicken skin butter. The butter melted alongside the bread and the chicken skin gave it a crispy texture. I also highly recommend the bluefin tuna tartare, very refreshing and delicious, can't go wrong with that. For entree, we had the Denver steak and rose snapper along with sides including green beans and caulilini. The snapper was very fresh and the Denver steak has a wagyu texture to it, probably because it was sous vide. For dessert, we ordered the chocolate mousse, which was served at table side. I'm not a mousse person, but all the toppings that went along with it was very well put together in terms of the flavor profile. I would undoubtedly order that again. The service was very prompt despite being a very busy night. Our server was very attentive and made sure all of our orders are served on time. The overall ambiance is very versatile. It is a great place for a casual hangout or a formal date. Parking in La Jolla is very difficult and limited. There are no parking lots around this place and your best bet is street parking. But don't let this discourage you from coming here because the dishes here are worth the hassle of finding a parking.

We placed our order for apps and main no later than 8pm and we got our entrees at 8:45pm. When we asked our waitress about the status of our food, she was not apologetic, she just said it was coming. The table to the left of us sat after we did, got their food faster, and finished by the time we got our main course. We did get to meet Chef Tara and watch some of the tune breakdown. She was friendly and easy to approach. This was the highlight of our experience. The rest is nothing to write home about.
