We had a good brunch with good service. They have a nice outdoor patio. Patio is dog friendly too.

Pretty fast service and food is always very good! The only downside was that our server didn't get our waters so we didn't have water until we got the food and asked someone else for it. I really do love the location since it's right in downtown La Jolla and overall a great place to spot by!

It's a cute and solid brunch spot that's always packed on the weekends. You might have to wait an hour but it's no big deal if you walk to the beach or get coffee in the meantime. Antojito/La Jolla Benedicts: Maybe? We got a mix and match and they were good but nothing to rave about tbh. It was a little bit lackluster flavor wise at that price point but still enjoyable nonetheless. I like the crunch from the antojito and that was a fun little spin on it. The La Jolla one was a good default and just adds a couple of ingredients over a regular bene. Stuffed french toast: Get If you have a sweet tooth then this a great way to start off the day. Fluffy ooegy gooey buttery goodness to wash away all those guilty pleasures lol. Parking can be a little tricky nearby on the busy weekends but circle around a couple blocks away and you'll find something. Food: 6/10 Atmosphere: 7/10 Service: 7/10 Value: 6/10

Chilaquiles lacked flavor of any sort at all. Extremely disappointing. French toast was basic and fine. The ranch and fries were the only thing I genuinely enjoyed and even then my fries came out lukewarm at best. Serving a "mule" in a copper mug without straws was not it. The copper taste just made it unbearable to drink along with the lack of flavor and the fact that it tasted just flat (versus super sparkling like a regular mule...I would think not having real vodka in this should not impact bubbliness unless the soju killed the bubbles in the ginger beer?) We understand we came on a Sunday and who expected busyness but I think it was just worse than we were anticipating. Our server was nice no doubt but we'd asked for things, like lemons, and never received them and even asked a busser and never got them from either. If food is outstanding, I can usually look past service flaws but the fact that both were subpar really left me not wanting to ever come back.

When visiting my family and I chose this spot due to convenance. Staff were super helpful and nice! Our server was amazing! The food was mid, I think there was no seasoning on the food but the stuffed mascarpone French toast made up for it 100% We subbed the compote for fresh fruit, the kids French toast was huge. Drinks were also good, we enjoyed the different variety. The place itself is so warm and welcoming!

Sandwich, with FRENCH FRIES. AND, Diet Coke. As for GONZALO, Antojito Benedict. AND, Vita Berry Smoothie. *SHARING Stuffed French Toast.

My Partner Loved the SMOOTHIE and the FRENCH TOAST!!! We went to THE COTTAGE in La Jolla, for Breakfast/Brunch. We had never been there before, had usually we go to HARRY's Coffee Shop. We found it very nice. We found the food to be an upgrade from the other restaurant. We were DISAPPOINTED that they didn't have a DISABILITY RAMP!!! It has such a storied history in La Jolla, that we were surprised by such an OBVIOUS AND GLARING OVERSiGHT!!! SETTING THAT ASIDE, the food and service were great. It all started with the Host out front, who took my name and phone number. When I inquired about our time, he remembered my name. Such a display of TRUE SKILL. We were seated soon thereafter, inside. As stated, there were the stairs. HE the host HELPED!!! We had looked at the menu before entering, to pick what we wanted ahead of time. I chose the Morning Glory Sandwich @ $22.00, with FRENCH FRIES AS A SUBSTITUTION. AND, Diet Coke. As for GONZALO, he chose the Antojito Benedict @ $23.00. AND, the Vita Berry Smoothie @ $12.00. FOR FUN, we shared a HALF ORDER of the Stuffed French Toast @ $11.00. (FYI Normally, sweet things bother my Partner, BUT HE LOVED THE SMOOTHIE AND THE FRENCH TOAST.) I would say thatTHE COTTAGE is a little more expensive than HARRY's COFFEE SHOP.

My new favorite brunch spot in La Jolla! We came here on a Saturday morning and it was so good, definitely a one up on Sugar and Scribe across the street in my opinion if you are going head to head. We waited about 30 minutes to be seated outside. Got their Eggs La Jolla Benedict which was a unique tasting benedict with their balsamic mushrooms and roasted tomatoes on top. The balsamic gave the benedict a unique taste that I can't really describe, almost reminded me of a pizza. The potatoes weren't too crispy but good enough. What made the breakfast special was we all split their stuffed french toast! It was so fluffy and their strawberry compete hit the spot with a sweet touch. I could have finished all three of them but it was too much food, I was stuffed. Will definitely come back!

Great spot that has a lively atmosphere with fast and efficient service. Went for breakfast and had the oatmeal with nuts, fresh fruit. Tasty with other good healthy options.

Very laid back breakfast spot on the corner. Thank goodness for outdoor seating with kids. The lemon ricotta pancakes were highlighted in previous reviews so we had to order it and it didn't disappoint. I would say my brioche French toast was even better than the pancakes. It was also plenty as I couldn't finish it. Prices are consistent with other brunch establishments around and service was attentive.

Okay, I already want to plan my next visit here. I can't really tell you whether everyone else's dishes were as amazing as mine because I spent the majority of our morning just gobbling up my own meal. I loved every single flavor in it. It was AMAZING!!!!!! The scone it came with wasn't my favorite, but I guess I'm just not a huge scone girl... I would 100% go back and order that same little hash over and over again. So, so good!

When I tell you guys I never finished my plate up so fast! Lol that's how you know the food was good! We did came to what seemed like a busy time but they sat us so quickly which me Andy family appreciated that because we had just landed from our flight and was starving! The ambiance was great and loved the outdoor seating because we got to enjoy the weather for a lil bit! I'm definitely coming back here when I visit SD again!

The service was quick, very welcoming and engaging! We arrived mid morning on a Friday and waited about 10/15 minutes for a table. There is indoor and outdoor seating where there are umbrellas for shade if you choose outside. The food was fresh and arrived in a timely manner. The ambiance is casual. We order the morning glory breakfast sandwich and smash avocado toast where both were great! Great spot and service!

One of my favorite meals here is the risotto Benedict. It was still good, but unfortunately, it didn't taste quite as good as it normally does. After we left, my stomach was very upset, and I ended up having to make an emergency stop at the La Jolla Shores bathrooms before heading home. Our waiter was also a little slow. On top of that, the waiter commented "Impressive" because I had finished my entire plate. But, I decided on a 5 because, in the more than 30 years that I have been dining at the Brockton Villa, I've never had a bad meal, nor a marginal one, they've all been spot on. It's easy to enjoy the perch on the side of the hill, with an immediate view of the Cove and the further views of the Shores, Glider Port and on a clear day, Torrey Pines. What comes with that view, is the smell of nature, and on Tuesday, it was stronger. It didn't interfere with our meal. The wait staff are all friendly, experienced, and approach the table appropriately. I can't relate to a setting where the server is there every couple of minutes. I tend to eat there more for breakfast and lunch, dinners less commonly. The menu is diverse enough for 2 picky eaters to always find something fantastic. On Tuesday, I had the clam and crab chowder and it was superb. I grew up in New England, the epicenter of chowders. I am known amongst friends, for the many chowders that I make at home. The salmon BLT is a recurrent favorite, as is the basic breakfast, tweaked to your preferences, with a wide array of protein options. The family was pretty excited to try this place out and by the end of the meal, every single member of my family (all 5 people) were angry. The service was horrific. We came during lunch, they were not particularly busy and we were seated within 5 minutes. Let's start with the food. I ordered a $25 Wagyu burger and it was unseasoned. Not under seasoned, UNSEASONED. The patty was overcooked. I asked for medium rare and it was well done to a point where it was not even remotely enjoyable. This $25 burger did not come with fries, it came with a very small bowl of salad that had no salad dressing. The wrap my wife ordered was mediocre and lacking any flavor. The shrimp inside was good but everything else was bland. The one thing that was good was the seafood chowder. It was excellent. Very flavorful and rich. The best tasting thing at our table were the children's tater tots and the clam chowder to be very honest. Now onto the service. The service is arguably worse than the food. The waiter looked annoyed to take our order but what is egregiously worse than that is that in our entire time sitting there eating our food for more than 45 minutes, our server (or any member of the wait staff) literally did NOT come back once to check on us or ask us if the dishes were good or to give anyone water refills (we ordered a coke and that was not refilled the entire meal). I want to reiterate, we literally did not get a refill of our waters or the coke we ordered 1 time the entire meal. Our waters were empty 10 minutes into the food arriving but because no member of the wait staff came by to check on us, we resorted to drinking out the water bottles we brought ourselves. We tried to flag down a member of the wait staff 3 times and after, my wife just said 'let's just try to get out of here as soon as possible. This is ridiculous'. I also want to be clear, we were not in a separate room or in the corner, the door of the restaurant was visible, the bar where they serve alcohol was visible from our table. The wait staff just chose not to check on us and ignore our hands in the air trying to flag them down. They came after more than an hour to drop off the check without saying anything to us or ask about how the food was. We were so angry by that point we did not even bother to ask for a refill of water or coke. We just wanted to leave as soon as possible.
