I wanted information on my prescription and left multiple messages and email with no response at all. I'm sure they didn't want me to go elsewhere. They also need a lower price point selection of glasses. Very expensive frames. Very friendly office, but I'm just not happy there and will be changing as soon as it's time for new glasses.

And they seem fun…read more I joked around with them, and appreciated their sense of humor, etc. I am happy with my glasses, even though I could have spent less online. I feel strongly that you should support some local businesses. But I can't give them a 4 or 5 star, unfortunately. My glasses took one month to arrive, which wouldn't really be a problem (I understand there are some issues with supply chain). I wouldn't even mind that they took four weeks, but the communication all the way through the process was not good. I called three times the week I was told my glasses were supposed to arrive and never heard back. What sort of professional office never returns your call? Looking back on it, I actually had to go to their office to schedule an appointment because I called to be their customer and never heard back for more than two weeks. I was told consistently "You are on my list to call." I've had people I dated and ghosted me who were better at communication. After they told me glasses would arrive in two weeks, and three weeks and four weeks came and they didn't respond to messages, I finally drove to the office and had to summon them to the door (it was 4 PM on one of the three days their offices are open). If you are reducing the days you are open due to COVID (which was what they told me), I can understand that. But you'd think that you would bend over backwards to make sure you service customers the three days you're open. I shouldn't have to call repeatedly to get information about my glasses. I called three times, left a message, and never heard back. I fully believe the last time I called they simply didn't answer my call. That's not professional. My glasses were there when I stopped by. So, the lesson I learned - be a squeaky wheel and you'll get some attention from these folks. I was fitted and paid. No apologies. Nothing like "Sorry we haven't gotten back to you, etc." You'll see another review here on Yelp from someone who also never got calls back. It got to the point where I actually wondered if maybe they were going out of business, and I would be out the money I deposited, which was half my total bill. If they were as efficient in communication as they were in taking my money, they would be the best optometrist in the world. Instead, they are simply average, albeit with great personalities. I liked the people in the office, but I shouldn't have to push them to communicate with me. Here's my feeling: they don't want to really grow the business much any more, and both the doctor and office manager are fine with that. So this business is basically run as a hobby. Wish I could give a better review. I guess if you are ok with bad communication, go with them, but be patient.

Grand Rapids Ophthalmology - A couple weeks apart. Grandville didn't even charge us for the visit because Holland screwed up so bad.

They dilated my 6yrs eyes and then left us in a room for 40 minutes giving her enough time to work herself in a frenzy of fear. Then they got impatient with her for her anxiety attack. By the time we left she was in full panic attack. Then we get to our appt for her glasses. The day of radio silence so we thought all was well.... wrong... apparently they tried to call me multiple times. They had my phone number wrong, buy didnt even try to call dad. They then sent an email a hour before our appt as we were on the road to the appt to inform us the glasses weren't in. They gave such attitude when we got in like why did I give them the wrong number... I didn't... they did that to themselves. Plus they also had dads number. They also had all day to send an email and not RIGHT before the appt. Definitely will be will looking for an alternative pediatric optometrist. Do not take your children here. We ended up getting recheck at the Grandville office and they were so kind and amazed at how bad the Holland office messed up my daughter's prescription.

I called ahead of time to ask about these and was assured that staff would mask if requested. I have been back there at least 6 times and each time, had to remind a member of the staff to mask. Once, the response was, "Oh, now I have to go find a mask!" Dr. Tomaselli even once had to be reminded. I saw numerous patients masking and I know from experience, people are shy about asking someone to mask. It seemed as if I was the only one for whom they masked. I feel that if you are treating someone who is masking or at any rate, getting within inches of someone's face, it might be a good practice for all staff to mask. During my cataract procedure, a nurse named Mary Beth had a mask hanging off her nose, not attached in the back, so her mouth was virtually not covered the entire time. In the surgical center. Aside from the masking, there is the issue of impersonal treatment. Not once was I asked about myself or did the doctor spend more than five minutes with me. However, the wait was always at least an hour overall to get in and out of the offices. Not thrilled with the service whatsoever. Staff seemed overworked and unfriendly. The only conversation I heard was complaining about scheduling. I was very surprised that there was no online interaction with the office - for appointments, instructions or anything. Like any other medical facility in 2023! Nothing. I was given papers while sedated to explain procedures and had to call numerous times to make sure appointments were in the correct facility. Overall, not a very professional or satisfactory experience.

On August 16, 2026, I scheduled a virtual consultation for 1:30 PM. I was not informed beforehand that a specific Microsoft application was required. Here is the first issues, this company never informed the customer that a certain microsoft video app is needed for the virtual consultation, you dont find this out until you attempt to have the consultation. So instead of a video consultation I called the company for a phone consultation When I called for assistance, I was placed on an extended hold before being connected to a non-medical representative who was unable to answer my medical questions. There were many medical questions that he could not answer because he was not a doctor therefore he had no knowledge about. I specifically requested to speak with a doctor and was scheduled for a follow-up appointment at 3:00 PM the next day. On the morning of August 17, at 9:17 AM I called to confirm that I would be speaking with a actial physician. The rep confirmed that I would indeed be speaking to an actual doctor at 3:00 PM later today. I then asked would the company call me or should I call. I was told that I would receive a call at 3:00 PM. Despite this confirmation, I received no call at the scheduled time. When I followed up at 3:15 PM, I was again placed on a long hold. This rep looked at the notes in their system and confirmed that I was indeed scheduled to speak with an actual doctor. I then asked him if he was going to find an actual doctor. He then put me on hold, which lasted about 15 minutes. When he returned all he can do was apologize because he could not find an actual doctor or anyone for that matter for the second scheduled consultation. I then hung up the phone. Shortly after hanging up, I received a call from a representative who was rude and unprofessional, yet still not the medical professional I had been promised. The lack of coordination and failure to provide access to a qualified doctor is deeply concerning, especially given that this consultation pertains to a surgical procedure involving my eyesight. I expect a higher standard of transparency and reliability from a medical provider. I look forward to your prompt response regarding how you intend to address these systemic failures. Please post your respone to my complaint and do not ask me to contact you privately!

I don't have many choices when it comes to retina specialists in the area. Doctor Korot is very knowledgeable, but did not spend a lot of time with me. This was hard as a patient. I get other patients might have more urgent needs, but if I waited over two hours to see you because my retina is detaching, I'd appreciate better "bedside manner." Annual check ups matter too!!! If I could get a referral to a different doctor, I would change offices. Second reason I do not recommend this office: my appointments have been canceled last minute, and rescheduling is damn near impossible. I can never get anyone on the phone! The folks who do take calls don't work in the office and have to leave a note with the office. It took over five times for me to call and leave a message to get a returned call! Again very frustrating from the patient side. Finally, paying a bill is more difficult than it should be. You get the bill in the mail with a number to call. But guess what? The operators say the office is busy and they'll "call you back." I'm not sure what else can be done, aside from going into the office to pay my bill. I would argue that you have to go to the office to schedule and pay bills in person because the phone and email do not seem to work. Please do better, retina specialists of Michigan. You can hire more people to help with admin work, this might actually help patients.
