Showcase is a GREAT showroom! The people are incredible. They are so attentive and helpful. It's intimidating going to these types of places and figuring out what all of your options are. Navigating through all of your choices, and trying not to get overly confused in the process. In all trying to fight off crazy sales people. It can be horrifying. Charlie, one of the designers at the Camarillo showroom, is so helpful. Not pushy..He genuinely CARES about the people he meets! He is the most knowledgeable designer I have met by far! He is so honest about pricing, time lines, and what can be expected. He is always available for phone calls, emails, and any type of question that can come up when doing a project. I had heard of him from friends in the area that have worked with him in the past, and his reputation is spot on. On top of the great experience I have had with Charlie, Showcase has also been exceptionally great! The products offered are top of the line and well worth the price! This company goes above and beyond for their clients to ensure the process is worry free for the client. My husband and I recently visited this location to start the process of our kitchen remodel. We have been trying to get this project done for years - we explored options of hiring out certain parts of the job and doing the rest ourselves, getting the work done by friends, etc. just to save a bucks here and there. After a few years of nothing happening; due to the demands of our work schedules and new baby, we decided to go with a full service company to do our kitchen remodel from start to finish. During our visit; we met Charlie, who only introduced himself to us at the END of our visit, when we were about to leave! I'm not sure if it was because we came in 30 minutes before closing or because we arrived with our 8 month old daughter (who was not fussy or acting up during the visit), but Charlie treated us like we were a young couple who just purchased our house and could not possibly afford what Showcase Kitchens & Baths has to offer. Our intention was to visit the store and make an appointment to have a design consultant come work with our budget and get the process going. Instead; Charlie spent the time to tell us, "OUR clients are usually the type who have done a DIY kitchen remodel before and decided to come to us, to avoid all those hassles". Ummm, well we are here trying to be clients of yours, but maybe we don't fit that mold....? Charlie made a lot of assumptions - for example, he assumed our kitchen was "small" and when I questioned what classifies a small kitchen from a medium or large kitchen (because in my mind; we were thinking of taking a wall down so that our kitchen would be more open, thus creating a large kitchen), not only did he NOT answer the question, but stated that a typical SMALL kitchen remodel would cost around $30K (not including appliances). Charlie didn't even know or ask our budget and probably assumed we could not afford $30K and wanted to eliminate us then and there. This was such a terrible experience. And I want Charlie to know that Showcase Kitchens & Baths missed out on a big sale - we are very qualified customers; who have owned our home for over 4 years, with approximately 50% equity, over 10 years of stable/consistent employment and income and who have recently come into a large endowment. We will DEFINITELY be taking our business elsewhere. I would never recommend this place to anyone, not even the most stuck up and arrogant people I know. I have been telling EVERYONE I know about the horrible experience and finally decided to publish this so others can save their time and not bother with this company and their associates. read more

Showcase isn't inexpensive, but if you want results that will last and that you'll be proud to show off, you'll want to go with this company. In addition to money, there are three necessary components to a successful remodel project: A good designer to envision how to arrange the space and what to put in it; a project manager / general contractor to manage all the pieces, and capable tradesmen to do the work. We used Showcase to redo our kitchen in 2010 and recently engaged them to remodel our master bathroom and bedroom - and they were able to deliver all three of these components for both projects. We started with Kim, the designer, who helped us put together the design and pick out cabinets. She put together plans based on what we wanted, our budget and the space we had to work with. Jeff, the project manager, was brought in to put together a plan and arrange for the work to be done. He did a great job keeping us updated on progress and letting us know what was going to happen each step of the project. Showcase works with a core group of companies for plumbing, electrical, tile, counter tops, drywall, painting and cabinet installation - each expert in their field and do amazing work. The end result of these efforts were an amazing kitchen and a fantastic bathroom that we will enjoy for years to come. read more

We have very high regard and praise for Showcase. We have been repeat customers through 4 separate remodeling and expansion projects on our residence going back to 1995. Projects have included kitchen 1995, expansion and remodel of bedroom/bathroom spaces 1999, master bath remodel 2009, and full kitchen do-over in 2016. Designer Charlie Rutledge has been our point person on every job. He's been a pivotal player and the leader on every successful project. Personable, professional, always responsive. A pleasure to work with. Home remodeling is never easy or without surprises and adjustments, nor will any general contractor be completely flawless. But with Showcase we have always had the following: 1. Fair, comprehensive, full disclosure estimates, and final contract numbers. May take a bit of time to fully understand every element, but that is because Showcase ensures there are no hidden costs, forgotten fees, other elements of your budget that we have had dropped by other contractors (e.g. outdoor masonry, painters). Showcase may not be the lowest (but competitive with other high quality general contractors), but also never ends up with surprises, forgotten elements, or other financial "oops" that blow your budget. 2. Exceptional patience and an open mind in terms of design inputs, details and decisions. Working with Showcase is a true collaboration. They know kitchens and bathrooms inside and out, and have given us several great ideas we'd never thought of. And they have also been completely open to our inputs when we've seen a detail or tweak that was unique to our tastes or wants. 3. Detailed contracts, specifications, plans and drawings. And all the patience one could ask for in making sure both sides are in full agreement on the work to be done. 4. With one or two minor exceptions (all of which were promptly remedied), top notch trades, often master craftsman level work, and by workers you feel totally comfortable having in your home. 5. A dedicated job supervisor (Steve Love has supervised all 4 of our projects). Not needed full time onsite but always available whenever needed. Immediate response to questions, immediate follow up when issues arise, and a very firm hand on all his trades. With Steve Love at the helm there has never any doubt that the job is in very capable and demanding hands. 6. Well planned and very well paced work schedules. Work progress that meets and often betters the schedule. We've never ended up with a partially done project that stalled. No "my truck broke down, the dog ate the plans" or other lame excuses for not showing up. 7. Within what is practical when up to half your living space is being worked on, full respect for and accommodation of our home, living space, needs, and daily routines. And dog friendly, even when we had a 4 dog household during two of the jobs. And full attention to and respect for our dog access restrictions, even if it sometimes meant they had to access the site or store materials in places not the most convenient for them. 8. Very prompt resolution of any punch list, warranty or similar rework need. Their handling of a particular warranty issue on our most recent kitchen project was simply outstanding, and a model of how responsible businesses should work to resolve such an issue. 9. I understand Showcase specializes in luxury remodels, but I went in for a custom small bathroom vanity and never felt like I was wasting their time. Charlie sat down and planned measurements with us and designed the drawers based on what worked best with our grooming products and storage needs! Way better than buying something stock online even though the price is comparable. He even gave us options for saving money in other areas of our bathroom update. Contrary to one previous review, we found Charlie to be exceptionally friendly, kind, and helpful; not an ounce of snobbery there. GREAT experience all around. read more

A year ago I purchased a new condo with very modern finishes that were often manufactured materials. I hired Ernesto and his fabulous people at Showcase Kitchen and Bath in Woodland Hills.... David was my foreman and Melissa was my designer to create my dream kitchen, master bathroom, powder room bath, and fireplace, as well as add special lighting and accessories to the other bathrooms and around the condo. Every detail was done in a timely manner with the utmost professionalism. Melissa and Ernesto listened to all my wishes and incorporated them beautifully, also respecting my own design taste when I chose certain items. We worked as a fine team to create not a condo, but a home. The estimated cost for the project stayed pretty close to budget except where I made changes and most important and I must say a first for me, David kept the timeframe to exactly the week he promised completion. He gave me a spread sheet with exactly when things would be done and stayed to that spread sheet. My past experiences had been months outside the timeframe promised with costs skyrocketing, often double the original price figure. I love my home and everyone that comes by comments on the quality and the fact it truly is a home in this big city. I would recommend them for sure! David is unbelievably nice and very responsible, and Melissa is so easy to work with and provides the input necessary to make the finished effect breathtaking. If we would judge Showcase solely on the quality of their service, design, construction and customer-centricity, it would be a parade of compliments and nods to the ratings scale we have noted here. The true measure of satisfaction, however, is amplified in comparing the experience we encountered with another area remodeling company whose work a few years ago was okay, but whose business culture/communication was often off-putting. Best decision we made was to hire Showcase Kitchens and Baths for remodel of our kitchen. Charlie designed the remodel and Steve organized and supervised the sub-contractors, and everything went like clockwork. Showcase Kitchens & Baths is outstanding! My husband and I still cannot believe how fabulous our remodel turned out. I had been talking about doing a remodel for several years and had just not found the contractor or company that I was comfortable with. Upon visiting Showcase's lovely showroom, I met Charlie. The minute I met him I knew this was the company for me! He was extremely knowledgeable, professional, friendly and very patient with my millions of questions. He held my hand through every step of the process. He really knows how to design a kitchen, creating ergonomic workspaces, maximum storage space and organization. He also thinks outside the box, by suggesting we remove/relocate a pantry to open our space up to create a large great room. We love it! In our master bath, my husband and I had a crazy idea for a walk in shower that we very roughly designed on a paper napkin while traveling. Charlie took that crazy idea and designed a gorgeous walk in shower with exquisite limestone and shell tile. The contractor assigned to our project, Steve, was also very knowledgeable and professional. He did an excellent job of executing the plans, managing all the sub-contractors and keeping us updated with the progress. Showcase utilizes the highest quality products and materials as well as some of the best subs in the business. Although Showcase is not the least expensive contractor in the business, the expertise, professionalism and end results are well worth the money spent! We are Thrilled with the results and I would recommend them to everyone. Three years ago my mother passed away. What does that have to do with a review for Showcase Kitchens & Baths? Well, one thing led to another and my husband & I bought the 59 year old family "homestead" from my siblings and children. My parents built the home themselves (with their own 2 hands) in 1954 - there had not been much updating done over the years. That's where Jean Anguiano, architect for Showcase, came into our lives. He is amazing! Not only is he a skilled, creative architect, but he has an ability to know what you want before you even know what you want. It was important for me to keep the essence of the family home, but with modern features. Jean took his time, was extremely patient when we weren't sure how to proceed and walked us through the process. The result is indescribable - the house is beautiful! It has the same spirit, but more open and updated. The combination of Jean's creativity and Forest Construction reputation is an unbeatable. The remodel process is stressful, NO DOUBT, and we were in Colorado while most of the work was in process, but Jean rose to the occasion by taking photos of construction to share with us, taking time to research and find just the right fixtures to complete the look we wanted. We believed in Jean and were so happy with the inside house remodel that we signed on for Round 2 and had him design the landscape project as well.
