Brittany Stone is by far the most talented colorist, she has a way with color that I have never seen a stylist be able to replicate. She listens to what the client wants and does not do what "she thinks will look best" which is hard to find and amazing!!! I had my go-to stylist in Santa Monica for the past ten years and was nervous about finding my new place when moving to Mill Valley. I decided to go with 383 after reading reviews and checking out their website. Brittany did my color...blonde highlights and they're AMAZING! At the last minute I decided to do a cut and they fit me right in with Katie. She listened to what I wanted and spent a lot of time making sure it was just right. I love Showroom 383! It's such a beautiful salon with high touch service. I'm always greeted with a smile and there is always fresh fruit and delicious beverages! I've been seeing Sarah for my color and Galean for my cut for several years now. Sarah is AhMazing and shes always raising the bar on my highlight color. Plus she's an interesting person to chat with or not if you're too tired. Galean has a gift for cutting hair, my hair looks great air dried as well blown out. It even looks great when it's grown out! Wish I could give more than 5 stars here! I relocated to Marin a few years ago and arrived with an epic fail haircut I received in So Cal. I resigned myself to having to get a bob as the only way out. Made an appointment here not knowing anyone. I feel incredibly lucky to have Galen as my stylist. Not only did I not have to endure a bob haircut (tragic for us pony-tail staple girls) but he was able to fix my hair and expertly create some layers to keep my length. I have referred 3 of my friends & they are equally impressed and very happy. He is a "hair engineer" and nothing short of brilliant. The overall experience is top notch. Went for balayage coloring. Salon promised to give me the best colorist. I'm so regretting it now, as it looks so stripped, think pieces of yellow bleach. After colorist saw my reaction, she said - may be balayage technique is not for you. Right. I don't recommend if you looking for natural look, very unprofessional. read more

I've been going to 383 since they opened - they were actually still under construction the first time I had my hair cut there. I've always seen Gaelan and have never been disappointed. They have a great front desk staff and amazing shampoo/scalp massages. The space is beautiful and sunny, you can have a cappuccino, and just relax. Gaelan is great. I went for a haircut with Jessica for the first time there last week. She did a very good job for the first time cutting my hair. That's hard to accomplish for my hair! Just about exactly what I needed, if not exactly, it always takes a little time for me to know how to ask or explain what I am looking for as well, so very good indeed for my first time. Another great perk she offered, which I have never heard before, she offered to touch up or do anything else I think I needed in the next 2 weeks free of charge if I wasn't 100% happy. Perfect policy of hers! Not sure if the whole salon or not, but REALLY thought that was a very good thing. OnceI get home and style myself, I always find a little something, and then try to do it myself, and-of course-mess it up! So, so far very happy with this place and Jessica. Next appointment is color/highlights with George. Something that nobody has gotten right in the last 3 years (at other salons), updates coming! read more

They were able to fit me in on the same day for color and cut., which was fantastic in and of itself. Brittany gave me a gorgeous, natural-looking color and Gaelan did a wonderful job on my heavy, all-one length hair. He added soft layers, giving it lots of movement and much less weight, while leaving it long enough to put up into a ponytail for running. Not only does Sloan, the owner, come across as genuine, confident and kind- that's the feeling you get from everyone who works there. Sloan has incredible integrity and people who work there naturally follow her lead. Let's get to my hair: I've had Sloan cut my hair for over a decade. I've had it VERY short and it is quite long now. Since she's cut it - it looks beautiful. My mother, daughter - they both go to her as well. She also is an instructor. There are no bad haircuts at Showroom. You will look gorgeous, trust me! Sarah colors my hair. Boy is she sweet. She is an artist and my daily compliments are endless. I have copper and golds and people love the placement of the color. She listens and creates a look that's really gorgeous!! Lucky me!!!!! At 45, my hair is my best attribute:)) Please, book at Showroom. Treat these people with kindness and tip at least 20 percent to the person who cuts colors AND washes or blow outs. I tip the same amount to all. It's just a nice thing to do, this is your hair people!!! You wear it everyday!!!! Blowouts: I go weekly. I know, I'm s princess. This place makes you want to go there though. It's relaxing and the product they use smells goooodddd. It's a treat to have your hair washed and dried, it can turn a bad day into a great day!!! GO!
