This is an older theater that has been renovated a couple times in its history. It has been brought up to the current AMC standard which means large reclining chairs and a small bar inside. It is still a modest sized theater relative to what you would find in larger cities, but overall I think this does a good job. Prices are what you would expect these days, but that is pretty much theater standard rather than something unique to this location. I would recommend buying tickets ahead of time since there is assigned seating. It makes a huge difference to be in the center seats all together rather than be on the sides or too far forward. You can also order your food ahead of time so it is ready to go when you arrive. I thought that was a really nice feature. Overall no complaints, it is a pretty standard movie going experience.

The family has invested in Highland, and Highland invested in the theater. Tickets are a steal at $6 (add $1 to book online) and if you go on Tuesdays, is free popcorn night. How can you go wrong? The service is friendly, they are trained very well, and the pre movie announcements are fun. Don't expect Pepsi or Coke here. It's better. Excel Bottling provides the drinks (Ski, etc) and the usual suspects for candy are all there. The popcorn is so good that if you don't come on Tuesday, you'll buy it anyway. Finally, these are first run movies that are played. If you're having prob,em getting into the chain theaters, come here. You may have a bit of a wait, but you'll enjoy the movie. It is not stadium seating, but the screen is off the floor so it's not a big deal, and it sounds great.

(Realized after watching the couple in front of us you purchased them at the snack counter.) Also 4 people were behind the counter but only one person running a register while the others chatted. No greeting or indication that the other registers were offline. Decided to leave before purchasing anything, to avoid any further disappointment. I'd rather drive further and spend more for better customer service and welcoming environment.

So, as with most things, I hopped on Yelp and was shocked with the low ratings and reviews. Nonetheless, I still planned to check it out, I still planned on having my very own experience. I've been twice in the last month and was pleasantly surprised. Firstly, there was ample parking both times (I went to evening shows). Once inside, things were clean (although I haven't checked out the restrooms yet), the temperature was comfortable, and the popcorn was good (you can add your own butter and such!). The employees were also pleasant enough - I'll take that. The seating in the auditorium I sat in the first time was more comfortable than the second, but nothing unbearable. The screens and sound were of good quality too. Side Note: Predator: Badlands was AWESOME! I allow grace for places of business to have an off day at times, fully realizing if that "off" day just so happens to be each and every time you've patronized it then that's probably just the norm. But I also recognize that these days especially , it's hard to find and keep decent employees, and that has a trickle down effect. Anyway, this may not be a fancy theater with reclining seats or call-buttons to order from your seat, but this movie theater is a solid option to catch a movie if you're okay with those things.
