If you've ever been to Ellensburg, you know that they are rarely short on wind. It's evident by the turbines outside of town, the golf balls that seemed to have a mind of their own, or by the white caps on the lakes surrounding town. The other way that many in the area can tell what type of windy day it is, is by driving past this delightful travel plaza. While I'm biased, I think that old glory is the prettiest flag that has ever graced our shores, or any other. Shree's has the biggest, most impressive flag that I have ever seen! Whether you were driving over to Seattle and are just west of town, or are coming back from the west side and are at the crossroads of the state, you've definitely seen this flag. On a windy day, you get to see all the glory in all her proverbial glory! And while the colors don't run, you may just run here for an impressive selection of gas station pleasantries! they've got a good selection of all things pop, coffee, beef jerky, or whatever other snack you're looking for on your journey. The last time we stopped in here, we had quite the smattering of things brought back to the car. They included shredded beef jerky, some almonds, a number of different beverages, some string cheese, and a cup of tea for our matriarch! The gentleman running the place was very friendly, and as with most of these places, it was very efficient. The gas pumps outside are plentiful, have hoses that reach both sides of the car, regardless of which way you pull in, and last, but not least, the bathrooms are solid! They share a parking lot with an antique store that also sells many things you hadn't thought about in quite some time. All in all, this is a great Quick stop on your way east, or as you head west. Definitely faster than driving into town, and the gas prices are always better than most of the surrounding stops. I usually stop here before heading over the pass because its an easy in and out station with a trailer, but unfortunately now im weary about coming here. The diesel pump failed while I was fueling up causing my truck to get air in the lines and losing its prime. This ordeal caused me to be stranded for 2 days, my truck having to be towed to a dealership and me out my truck and trailer for weeks. Thank goodness I have good friends and another vehicle at home because I would have been screwed as I live 6 hours away from there. read more

As far as truck stops go, this place couldn't be further than most tiny truck stops by way of services. They don't have scales, they don't have good washroom facilities, they don't offer laundry facilities, they don't have a tire shop, they don't have a driver's lounge but what they do have is the best dang prices on fuel in almost the entire state. Basically, this is an old AMPM that has extra pumps for tractors. They do have washrooms but you'll probably need to wait in line and that's the better option because the 4 portable toilets outside are usually atrocious. They have a good selection of junk food, snacks and beverages to choose from however, they never seem to cook the corn dogs at a hot enough temperature or for long enough because there has been uncooked gooey batter in every single one that I've ever eaten from there and to my own embarrassment, it's been a lot. The staff is usually friendly, and they do their best to keep things clean but they get so crowded and busy that there's no way to keep up 100% If you're traveling on I-90 through Washington, they have locations at exits 149 and 101. Try to stretch your fuel until you get there. You'll be glad you did. read more

Yes, the fuel is cheap. If you want that and expect nothing else, this is your stop. 5 stars for gas price. Zero stars for the rest. The inside of the convenience store is filthy to a level that made my skin crawl. The floors are just gross. The front glass door hasn't been cleaned, probably ever. The women's restroom has running water on floor and smells beyond awful. (When i very nicely let them know they might want to look at restroom as water running across floor from toilet, all I got was a a blank stare). The area around the pumps is so dirty with grease you don't want to get out and track it back in, let alone touch anything. Someone desperately needs to manage and care about this business. read more

We have stopped at Thorp Fruit & Antiques I don't know how many times over the last four years on road trips to and from Puyallup/Spokane?! Always filling our gas tank at Shree's Travel Plaza, paying at the pump, never entering the store. Only recently did we notice the sign reading Best Food. This last trip home after the Holidays we just wanted to get off the road as soon as possible. With all the crazy Weather and way too many accidents so our stops were limited and quick. We used the rest room at Thorp Fruit, filled our vehicle at Shree's and decided to give the huge variety of foods in the well labeled and priced hot deli case a try. We were not disappointed. I got mini tacos ($3.49??) that were flavorful and surprisingly crispy. Plus directly behind me was a small reach in fridge with lots of Jack Linx options. I chose cheese and Salami ($2.49) to accompany my crackers I had in the car. Another in our party had chicken strips and wedge cut fries. Reported the chicken strips were great but the fries were too greasy and not fresh. And our third party was also pleased with their choices. Sorry, I don't remember what they were. Also offered are about every bottled beverage you can think of, an Icee machine, air pot coffees and so on. We enjoyed a half mango, half cotton candy Icee. And lastly, as pictured, many away from home self care needs available while on the road, if needed. read more

It's the only place in the area for gas and a pit stop. Bathroom was in horrible condition. Duct tape coming off the trash receptacle - and towels weren't working. Pretty dirty inside that area. Good selection of snacks though. read more

Shree's Travel Plaza has some of the best gas prices in the state, rivaled only by the station in Royal City off of SR-26. Located at exit 101 right off of I-90 near Thorp, they are conveniently located and have some of the best value for your trip! The staff are fantastic...super helpful, friendly, professional, and will even engage your toddler when they want to talk to everyone they see! Wonderful selection of cooler items and snacks, and their hot food is quite decent, especially when compared to the typical "gas station food" most of us have encountered in our journeys. In short, this is probably my favorite stop when traveling between western Washington and north central Idaho. Oh, and their restrooms are always clean! At least they are when I show up...so BIG kudos for that, particularly as I have kids, who also appreciate a clean restroom! If the restrooms are full or out of service, they have several portable toilets right outside...which are also usually clean and rather convenient. As a veteran, I also appreciate their immensely massive American flag...but that's just a personal love for me. Great place to stop, refuel yourself and your vehicle, and just hang out for a bit to rest before carrying on. I would give zero if I could. The place is disgusting, and be careful if you want to get a drink there as you might end up in the hospital. After putting some ice in a cup, I decided I wouldn't dare to drink anything from there as the handle had some greasy-sticky stuff. I complained about the drinks fountain, and the workers can't do anything if the manager doesn't want to do anything, and they don't want to pay for cleaning. They probably treat their employees the same way. Also, the porter potties are so horrendously smelly that even with a mask, I was sickened. The health administration should shoot down this place. I have never in my life saw such a dirty place in my life. read more

We broke down in our Coach. We stayed for 2 days, until we were able to get a tow truck and body shop for repairs. I stopped this morning 8/13/23 @ 7:30a.m.. You can not use debit card at pump. Pump says see cashier. Go inside and Attendant was some what rude. What do you want ? I said Gas... He said How Much ? I told him I wanted to fill it up . He said He needed a Number.. I said What ,How am I suppose to Know How much to fill tank . I said never mind I'll go some where Else . His response was Okay ! I Finally said $25.00 ( which was not even close to what I needed) Gave him my card , went pumped $25.00 in and Left for Cle Elum to buy More Gas. On My way My Bank Fraud Alert Called Me to Make sure Of the amount Charged On card . I verified $25.00. Never will I stop and use ANy of The services There Again...
