Thanks to the wonderful Glondo family (and my moms homemade sauce recipe), I have finally perfected my lasagna! There is so much to love about GSC, I'll try to keep it short and sweet. Key highlights: local, family owned business, perfectly located in central cle elum on Main Street, outstanding variety of not only handcrafted and curated meats, but a fine selection of all the things needed for a tasty meal - from antipasto starts, mains, desserts and drinks all in one spot. Bonus points: + These ladies are insanely sweet and know what they're talking about, don't be hesitant to ask them for a suggestion. I'm so happy I got advice on what sausage to use for my dish! (Grazie again, Randine, you're so great!) + they have a custom vending machine outside their storefront, yes you read that right I said vending machine!!!! haha, with snack packs of mixed cheese and meats specially from their company. + the convenience of not only location, but being able to grab all I need to make a great meal with quality, local ingredients makes my heart happy! This is the go to spot if you're anywhere near eastern Washington. Will always suggest to family and friends (who aren't already regulars haha). We stopped into Glondo's while visiting Cle Elum and after eating their sausage at a local restaurant for breakfast. Free street parking can be found. Discover is an accepted form of payment. An array of items can be purchased such as wine, beer, eggs, Italian pasta, vinegar and sauces. Take and Bake pizza can also be purchased to enjoy at home for those who are local. I purchased several Bratwurst and Hot Italian Sausage links to take home. Both sausage choices have been delicious. I also purchased some Black Forest Ham and Irish Whiskey Cheddar cheese to enjoy at the nearby breweries. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Sausage links are limited daily and are not available once sold out for the day; make Glondo's your first stop of the day to ensure availability. read more

We were staying with one of our good friends in Tumble Creek, near Suncadia. So, it came to be, what we needed something salty and meaty. My wife was looking for Land Jaeger, and honestly, I wanted some good sausages for lunch, dinner, anytime meals. Okay... let's be clear about this place. It's full of meat in many different forms. If you like meat, then you should make this place a must visit. If you have friends that like meat, but you aren't really sure about it, then you should visit, buy random things, and your friends will owe you hugs, kisses, and likely "favors" for your efforts. If you have a grill, this place might one of your favorites, because a grill needs good, tasty things, like meat. I mean, get some vegetables too for your grill, because healthy... but meat. I LOVED this place!! Did it get sold? I have not run into people that did not know how to cut cheese and sausage, the two kids were trying, but I had to point out to them what sausages were what! On top of the fact that they didn't have most of the meats and salami listed! When I got prosciutto, it was cut an 1/8 inch thick, you could barely chew it, prosciutto should be sliced paper thin and if you are going to work at a sausage shop you should know this! Didn't even think to ask them to slice it super thin! What happened to the owner. Last time we were here we had a great conversation about meats and cheeses and he sliced everything perfectly. I hope there is more training coming as this is the single most terrible experience I've had at Glondos! read more

It's quite amazing to me that A town the size of Cle Elum can house two incredible meat shops! This place is located on the same side of the street, but down about four blocks from Owens meds. Here they specialize in sausage, but have tons of other delicious options as well. Walking in this feels like an Italian specialty store but I've got tons of different meat, cheese and accompaniment options. They make frozen pizzas to go including a pair and Gorgonzola one that looked absolutely divine. The folks running the place are also a super cool bunch that want to make sure you get the most out of your meat shop experience and for us, provided us with a ton of samples of the different things that they serve here. They know as well as we do (I imagine similar to most things) that if we get a small taste we're more likely to buy! They have landjaeger here, which in our opinion was not quite as good as down the street, however if the beef jerky here was much better. They had a number of different types of pepperoni, all of which were awesome - including the spicy version which had just enough kick. We didn't end up getting much in the way of sausages as we were traveling over the pass, but let it be known that we will be stopping here on our way back home at some point so that we can sample all the joys that are delicious sausage! Another cool thing about this place was the amount of small accompanying foods that they had. They've got tons of specialty sauces, specialty toppings and lots of other items for the person who has everything, but wants to make something delicious. Well the selection is not as fast as down the street, this place is a solid five star spot that quickly one over our hearts and has worked its way into our stopping in Cle Elum rotation. This is a wonderful little place that carries very original Italian items of all sorts, fresh pasta, sausages, vino, etc. A+++ on all canned and jarred Italian grocery items. My only issue is that the one single marinated meat they carry.. if you ask the woman behind the counter, the most basic GED question, "can you tell me about the marinade? Basically what kind of a marinade is it?" You get this answer, "we don't know. Somebody comes in every couple weeks and makes it" Now think about it, doesn't the person buying it want to have SOME idea of what he is getting? Why would you blindly buy your meat main course entre without any idea of what you are buying? So, out the door I go, down to Owen's meats, for the "Ginger" marinated chicken. read more

Best landjaeger in town IMO! We just love 'em! Also got the regular bratwurst & jalapeño cheddar. Definitely preferred the plain, found the jalapeño cheddar one to be a bit on the salty side. The employees were very friendly and warm! They also have some great gifts and snacks! read more

Absolutely the best beef jerky I've ever eaten. Yes, it's expensive, but DAMN!!! If you want something a bit cheaper, get the pepperoni and watch them hack off chunks from the big rack of it behind the cash register. Their blood sausage is mind-blowing too. We cooked it with some apples and onions, and ate it off crackers while camping. One of the best meals I can imagine. read more

Cappo, Salumi, homemade sausage, jerky, pepperoni. Cle Elem is so lucky to have this gem of a store. Can get really "dangerous" fast (as in expensive as you will have to stop yourself) as the selection of fine Italian specialty items is amazing. And very very helpful and enthusiastic owner will feed you samples and samples. Love this place, now with Owens Meats (German owners) down the road and Glondos (Italian owners) here, one has no reason not to stop in Cle Elem. read more

By far the best beef jerky i have ever had. Two things to note, while it does not need to be refridgerated, the jerky will go bad in a week or two, and while it appears a bit expensive, it is definitely worth it. Stopped by right when they were closing up shop but the friendly staff let us in to pick up some jerky while headed to red top to do some hiking. Very strongly recommended shop. read more

About 2 weeks ago my husband & I spent Sunday night in a hotel in town. He noticed that there was an Italian sausage store. We are from Brooklyn New York, where they are scattered throughout Italian enclaves in the city. We have been living in Washington State for 27 years. We really miss the Italian salumaria & foccaceria. We were pleasantly surprised & decided that we were not going to leave town without stopping in to get intoxicated. We, when we walked in all the aromas from the life I had known in Brooklyn suddenly were right there!! I was so dang elated!! Not only was there Italian sausages; but pepperoni, homemade jerky, imported Italian cold cuts, imported Italian cheeses, olives & packaged delicacies on the shelves. All imported foods, cakes, sweets, truffles, pasta. We spent $150 on everything we crave & which is hard to find. Yes, there is the internet.... but you haven't had the "EXPERIENCE" until you walk into one of these places and just dive in!! We also found out that the owner Mr. Glondo is also Mayor Glondo & he is a jolly & kind fellow with a rich knowledge of his family history & the history of Cle Elum itself, where he was born & raised. So, if you are driving through Cle Elum on I90, take the time to drive into town and get yourself some Old World foods with a family feel. We have been enjoying all the food we purchased. This place is the best. Of course you have to like meat. But given that I would say it is hard to go wrong at Glondo's. The bacon is awesome. They cure their own copa. The bratwurst is great. The selection of deli meats and cheeses is good. Also you can get wine, condiments, pasta, sauces, et al. Here is the latest greatest. We were on our way to Cle Elum but were going to arrive 20 minutes past closing. Gave them a call, made an order over the phone. When we arrived at the store, Nina met us with our bag of purchases and a smile. Now that is great service. If I could give Glondo's 10 stars I would. read more

I first experienced this shop while driving through on a business trip. Decided to pick up some hot Italian sausages as a treat for the family. They were excellent! Even though we live several hours away, I decided to call to see if they would ship meat to me so we could freeze it for future meals. To my surprise the answer was yes and they were very accommodating-even allowing me to specify extra spice and heat into the sausages I was ordering. What a great little shop. We came across Glondo's as we were driving thru town. We bought some brats and Italian sausages. They are huge and juicy and very tasty ;) Reasonably priced for the quality of meat you're getting. They also have a good selection of cheese, but we didn't get any. Excellent meats, specialty cheeses. Pick up some wine, landjaeger sausages and cheese here then on to the bakery further south on first for a portable feast. Great pancetta and prosciutto. I first visited this shop about 18 months to 2 years ago. If they don't got the cheese or meat you want, you don't need it. The Applewood Smoked Cheddar cheese is fantastic as is the Landjaeger. They even have a few hard to find soda and several imported items. Pepperoni is a bit spicy, but I still thoroughly enjoy it. read more

I've been here once and it's a little pricey but quality is excellent. I was a little annoyed that they don't stock everything on their menu which I find odd that they would display certain items but not have available even for weeks at a time, this just makes it hard to order and leads to disappointment if you see something you want. The service was ok, I had some questions on cheeses that I've never heard of and was asking for recommendations and I felt like I was annoying her and she kinda made feel bad for it, I hope I just caught her having a bad day. read more
