I got 1 of the cheaper grilled fish with a side of rice and vegetables. The fish didn't taste grilled, it didn't have any crispness to it at all. Maybe that's how it's supposed to taste, but i didn't like it much. The vegetables they gave were string beans, baby carrots and sliced carrots that looked canned (lighter color and softer). The rice pullaf was okay, but it didn't have much flavor. It was a yellow color. The carrots didn't seem cooked enough, and I don't really care for green beans cuz they're always chewy. Usually I expect broccoli cauliflower and carrots. Guess I should've asked. The servers were nice, but we could hear them talking about us (they mentioned teenagers, and we were 1 of the 2 groups of teenagers, with like 4 groups of elderly being the rest of the customers). read more

don't be fooled by the "krabby cakes" as they are made of imitation crab. even though they do not indicate this anywhere on the menu and lead you to believe that you are getting real crab. it wasn't until I've checked the yelp reviews till I realized I'm just another one on the list of many that have been duped. the lobster Mac and cheese was definitely out of a box which I honestly don't mind. I don't really care about freshness as long as it tastes good. I will undoubtedly get a response from the owner on this review, telling me how "fresh" his food is, explaining in great lengths about its preparation. hey, maybe he's telling the truth and his ingredients really are the freshest around. but the simple truth is that the food regardless of freshness, just isn't very good. EDIT: to the owner, you don't need to respond to every review claiming how good and fresh every thing is. it just makes you look worse, when you attack the honest customers. obviously I'm not the only one who had complaints about the freshness and taste about the food. instead of blaming everyone else, maybe its better to look at you and your food? We have lived in the area for more than 30 years, and have never tried this place till tonight when we wanted some fried fish and the closest place we know is the H. Salt over in Temple City. We were excited and had high hopes. We ordered the 9 piece fish fillet with chips. We opened our bags and inside was the weirdest battered fried fish I've ever eaten. It was way too battered,soggy and tasted of cinnamon. My daughter picked at the crust, and complained that it was disgusting. My husband and I ate our 3 pieces, the fries were just ok, I guess the best thing about it was the tartar sauce. We should of just used the gas and gone to Temple City. We always wondered how it was because we'd see tons of people in line, and now we know. Had dinner at the Shrimp House the other day. I love the Fried Shrimp, not greasy. They have different sizes of shrimp, while the Jumbo are big; the Large ones are 60-65% the size of the Jumbo and a better deal price wise. My boyfriend had the Steak and Grilled Shrimp and he liked it. The Steak was big. I am confused about the people that complain about the menu having a lot of Fried seafood. Duh! That is what they are known for; at least it is not greasy or doughy. I wonder if any of the people actually read the menu, they have lots of other dinners that are not Fried, if you do not want fried food, do not order Fried! Service was friendly and the prices are fair for good seafood. You can spend a lot if you order Lobster but they have a lot of medium priced dinners throughout the menu. drove past this place two weeks ago and was dying to try it out. service was good and meals came out in a timely manner. started off with the calamai. deep fried just the way i like it and not watery. it was a good sized portion for one so that is a +. main meal, i went with the surf n turn with 3 pieces of fish. fries were seasoned and not plain. fish was good. shrimp were big. had the steak done rare. came out just as requested. only piece of advice for those ordering the steak, they season it. if i had known earlier, i would have asked not to have mine seasoned. overall great experience and will go back in the future. read more

Yesterday (June 14), The sever arrived to take our order and we told her we needed more time. She never returned & after waiting for ten minutes, I waved to another server to help us and she took our order. Our original server was preoccupied at the computer filling internet orders; and take out orders. I saw another dine in customer who came in long after us being served his food. Our server finally walked by and said we would be served soon---elapsed time 30 minutes since arriving. We waited another ten minutes and were still not served. Had a gift certificate from restaurants.com so my fiancee and I decided to come here. I can not begin to explain how amazing my experience was. Our server Diana never let the drinks get empty and she was so helpful! She showed me the size differences in the shrimp right off the bat so I knew what I was getting. I ordered the surf and turf (steak and 3 large fried shrimp) and my fiancee got the combo with clam chowder, fried scallops, fried fish, fried shrimp, and shrimp salad. The shrimp salad alone was amazing! People on here complain that the batter is too thick, I disagree, it is perfect. Try to imagine pot pie crust and that is what you get. And the steak I ordered! Medium and it was perfect and HUGE! I believe they told me it was 8 ounces but it was much better than the small steaks I am used to getting at other fish places. WTH happened! I ate here a long long time ago and it was sooo good. I brought a couple of my coworkers here today and I was so sorry I did. I had the lunch special, 1 piece of fish, 2 shrimps and fries and clam chowder. I was so looking forward to it. The soup was good, kind of thick, but at least it was fresh. The fish on the other hand was so dry and over cooked and so was the shrimp. The batter was made with corn meal and tasteless. I remember this place used to be the bomb! My friend had the grilled shrimp with rice and veggies. The shrimp was just ok lots of Old Bay seasoning on it, nothing special. The rice on the other hand was horrible, it had a chemical taste to it. She had to send back. We told the waitress and she just laughed like she had heard this before. They have good food here, but they need to update their cash register system. I eat out quite often, and this is the only place that consistently overcharges you on the tax (usually not by much, maybe a couple of pennies and that is not a big deal). Of course, if you do that for several years to thousands of customers, you can see how that adds up as a whole since most people will not notice it. However, I also have been overcharged almost $2 for tax too, and that is a big deal. And I bet some people that miss those. I don't know how they make the calculations, but they either need an updated register or somebody needs to retake some math courses. As I mentioned, I eat out often and I know the tax rates in each city. I would recommend you look at your receipt carefully. read more
