SHRIMP SHAK, 10600 SOUTH & REDWOOD ROAD, SOUTH JORDAN, UTAH.
    Melski M.

This is the 2nd visit on 10600 South & Redwood Road in South Jordan, Utah. It exceeded my expectations and more even the second round. Love love love their jumbo shrimp with jumbo waffle fries, the seasonings are amazing! Generous portion, excellent customer service, easy to walk-up and order, menu posted on food truck. Receive updates every week via email to track them down as to where they are, each week. Make an effort to find them, order more shrimp with fries. Rarely, i give a 5 star rating unless it's well deserved; without question, they raise the bar high, make yummy delicious food. They're on par with the restaurants, their jumbo shrimp is ten times better than sitting down restaurants, affordable price. I'd upload some pics but don't see an upload button.

Awesome, loved the shrimp and fries. The batter was awesome. Only wish there was a spicy option.

The fish batter was well seasoned compared to some fish and chips which the batter is just bland dough.

I started following them on Instagram so I know where they will be and we have gone to their food trucks 5 times in the last month. Needless to say we are addicted. The garlic anoli sauce is divine and to my surprise the rice and salad pair perfectly with the chicken. I don't know what flavor the salad is but even my kids like it. They always give out free samples, if you don't believe me to try a sample. They are quick to get your order done and it's worth the wait if there is a line.

I opted for the fried chicken (Katsu) and tempura shrimp in the 2 meat plate. It came with rice, salad, and 2 potstickers. Nothing really stood out and everything was mostly bland. The grease they are frying in was ready for a change and it really tainted the chicken and shrimp. Rice was mushy and the potstickers were rock hard. Their printed menu prices on the side of the truck didn't match the fancy order kiosk which was also not real great. I'd skip this truck if I come across it again.

The homemade longganisa (Philippine breakfast sausage) itself is incredible with the perfect balance of sweet, savory, and perfect garlicky-ness. If they ever consider selling their longganisa in local Asian stores I will absolutely be first in line. And then they built everything around the longganisa, forming the most beautiful longsilog (longanisa breakfast) sandwich ever imagined with the soft brioche, atchara (pickled papaya), runny egg, cucumber, cheddar cheese with that really mild bite, and spicy mayo (which is very mild, I don't do spicy and it was great). I'm drooling just typing this out. If I lived closer I would be here weekly. It's worth the price (it's also huge/filling, on top of insanely delicious). It's worth the line. Yes, the line can be kind of long so either come early or just make sure you have the time available to you. It will be worth the wait. You can take the buzzer with you into Roots coffee and grab a drink, or pop next door into Ruby Snaps and try some cookies while you wait. The owners/family/employees are all very friendly and helpful with any questions. If I have more opportunities I'll eventually try every sandwich. My friend tried the Bulgogi and loved it. The bite I had was great; the Bulgogi was seasoned really well and it also went fantastic with the brioche. The ribeye meat was really tender. I'd asked for a side of extra atchara with my sandwich not realizing how much was already on it. I suggested to my friend to add it to her Bulgogi because the sweet tanginess from the rice vinegar would complement it well, and she loved the combination -- that is also my suggestion to all of you.

I had the Manila and LOVED the pickled papaya & cucumber paired with the Filipino longganisa, and let's not forget about the fluffy, buttery brioche bun! I just can't get enough! My husband had the bulgogi and was equally impressed. Being a food truck they have a cool set up, a couple seats outdoors and a sweet partnership with the coffee shop next door who offers their patrons a place to sit and eat inside. Can't wait to visit again!

Their food is yummy and they actually invented a new dish, the Wacho. They also have stellar wings, both traditional and boneless. They work slow. I get the line was long, but 20 minutes is a bit long ... although it was worth the wait! I got the best of both worlds, the Factory Combo: A Wacho topped with boneless wings, ranch, pepper jack cheese, and sour cream. Highly recommended...unless you're on a diet. The ingredients made for excellent flavor combo. Loved the cheese choice, the blending of sour cream and ranch, as well as the Sweet BBQ sauce I had them slather my wings with. Look for them at Food Truck League events ... I caught them at the daily food truck roundup at The Gateway. See you there!

LONG. to finish the wings! "They're cooking," they said. "It'll be ten minutes," they said. Pffft, I know wings, I know how long they take to cook, and TEN MINUTES for some wings? Seriously? Then they handed them to me. Spoiler: They are not wings. They are HUGE, JUICY, DELECTABLE CHUNKS OF GLORIOUS WHITE MEAT. And delicous! I'm giving them 5 stars because I experienced the best kind of disappointment--and, they communicated with me throughout the wait, telling me how close they were to being done.

I ordered the fried catfish plate with collard greens and cornbread. The catfish was perfectly golden and crispy on the outside while staying juicy and flaky inside -- seasoned beautifully without being greasy. The collard greens were tender and flavorful without being overly salty, really seasoned perfectly and the cornbread had a great texture -- moist and warm but not overly sweet. And then some bonus surprise hush puppies that were so so good! Crunchy on the outside, soft and savory inside -- it really rounded out the meal and left me smiling. Prices are fair for the quality and portion size (my plate was $21), and the service vibe was friendly and welcoming. One of the best food trucks I've hit in a while -- no question.
