Had the Seared Ahi Tuna. Extremely disappointed. It was squishy, wasn't even sliced all the way thru due to the muscle fibers. The server kept coming to the table every couple of minutes to ask for our order, we explained many times we were enjoying a cocktail first. it was my birthday and I was talking about this place for days because I was excited about the raw bar. When I got there, I was already a little annoyed with the parking They were very narrow, I walked into the restaurant and it just looked very old grubby. They had a couple of orange cones at the front of the reception area with a couple of buckets so uninviting. Nobody in the place. we got there about 230. The server was so loud and obnoxious the food was low quality. The only thing that I liked was the raw oysters. The horseradish was watered down, had no taste. I ordered a cobb salad and unless you added the dressing on this chicken there was no taste. The shrimp was overcooked. Got a lava cake for dessert. There was no lava inside of it. It was just a bad experience altogether I will never go back and I will not recommend this place to anybody. read more

Visited Shuckers today as we were craving the Grouper Ruben sandwich. The weather was perfect for an outdoor table overlooking the ocean. Incredible view! The Grouper Ruben was very good- nice crunch on the rye bread, complimenting the creamy cheese, dressing and tangy sauerkraut. The grouper was fried nicely, leaving the fish moist. Fries were very tasty. For dessert we shared the mudslide cocktail- a perfect dessert with a kick! Service was good and staff friendly. Hard to beat this establishment as it hits all points. I took my out of town family there for what I told them would be a great dinner. Unfortunately I was very disappointed. We waited an hour for our food. The fish in my nephew's tacos was dried out and all the fries were stone cold. They tried to make it right with 1 dessert for 5 people to share. Not cool.....won't be returning. read more

I used to really love this place. Loved it so much it was the first place we went to get dinner when we arrived in town for vacation. I am gluten free due to Celiac Disease. I told the waitress this at the beginning of my order. Ordered an item from the menu that had the symbol next to it that meant the item could be made gluten free on request. I had assumed by looking at the menu, they would simply leave off the crispy fried onions to make the dish gluten free. When the food arrived, delivered by a food runner, my salad had the crispy fried onions on it. I asked the food runner if they were perhaps gluten free, fried in a dedicated gf fryer? She didn't know and after checking had to take my salad back to remake it. I'm glad I caught the mistake and glad they remade it because even the smallest traces would have left me in intestinal distress all week. My sister and I are visiting for the weekend in Jensen Beach, Florida and I searched Yelp of course for reviews of a grouper sandwich. We are on the ocean in Florida and have been craving fresh fish. Shuckers has positive reviews and has been steady for years so it had to be good. We ordered Grouper Rueben's, A Mahi sandwich, fish n chips, and guacamole and chips for later. Let's start with the Grouper sandwich, the fish was fresh and the serving was a nice portion. The fish was fried to perfection and dressed with coleslaw and Russian dressing. The sandwich was large and I had a side salad. I could only eat half. The fish n chips were tasty too. There were 5 large pieces, fried to golden perfection. This came with french fries and a great tarter sauce. The Mahi sandwich was grilled perfectly. This was served on a toasted bun and the fish was very flavorful. Everyone was extremely satisfied and full. The server was very kind and brought the food out to my car as I had several orders. If you want fresh Florida fish, check out this place. First; let's talk about Reuben's. Most if us are used to Reuben sandwiches; corned beef, swiss cheese, sauerkraut, 1000 Island dressing, piled on rye bread. A few folks call the same sandwich a 'Rachel' if it features cole-slaw instead of 'kraut. Shuckers offers a "Fried Grouper Reuben," with fish in place if the corned beef - and 'slaw instead of 'kraut! EAT IT BEFORE YOU LAUGH! It was a tiny bit greasy, but oh so good! My wife enjoyed her huge Lobster Roll; simple bread, but heaping amounts of lobster mix! We both enjoyed the Key Lime Pie; very tart, but tasty nonetheless. Ordered the bowl of clam chowder it was served in a small cup and it was sour. The scallops were very small and few. I did not like the sauce in them either. My friend ordered the stuffed shrimp couldn't believe the small portion. The dish was in both were 80% zucchini and squash not worth the price! We have been regulars for many years. The "hostess" staff was quite rude and disrespectful to our party of six. They giggled and laughed when I brought their rudeness to their attention. The "main host" outside stated "what do you expect they are just out of high school." when I brought their unprofessional behavior to his attention. I expect wait staff to respect their elders. We found a awesome restaurant called Shuckers which is on the water in Jensen Beach. It's an older waterview restaurant but we had an amazing lunch experience today. Our waitress Michelle was a 5 plus. She was super sweet & went above and beyond her way for us. I ordered a Rum Runner & Pina Colada she came back an asked if I wanted the RR frozen with a floater. Which was perfect! We ordered a chips & guacamole perfect appetizer and we asked her not to fire up lunch until after me were done & she did exactly what we asked for. The chicken lunch special was the best we had on vacation with a nice piece of chicken cutlet. My lobster roll was just right even with all the paprika on top. I'm glad we stopped by today & look Foward to revisiting the next time we are in town. read more

The food (blackened fish tacos) were tasty even though the fish wasn't blackened at all. This restaurant is really a smokers paradise. I would recommend all non smokers to avoid. The outdoor bar 95% of the guests were smoking. Sitting at the high top tables adjacent to the bar wasn't a good spot for a non smokers. Plus it's right off of Ocean Drive and has great beach views, plenty of free parking, and a cute little gift shop with lots of beachy/coastal clothing and jewelry inside. I visited on a weekday afternoon with 6 ladies. We picked a nice table inside with ac; but by the window and were quickly approached by our awesome, friendly server, Candice. Candice brought us all water right away; plus a dish of cut lemons and limes with a small fork. (Nice touch). There is a huge drink menu...,tons of beers, wines, frozen cocktails & specialty drinks. I was happy they had my favorite beer, Bud Light Lime, and it was only $4.25. Others in our group ordered Bahama Mamas and margaritas, and everyone was happy with their drink selections. The food menu has everything too...appetizers, salads, sandwiches, burgers, chicken, steaks, snd tons of seafood options. For lunch I ordered the Asian chicken salad; and it was just simply delicious! The chicken was perfectly grilled, the dressing was flavorful, and it was topped with crispy noodles. One friend had the Cobb salad, and she said it was one of the best Cobb salads she'd ever had! Prices were good as well; my salad was $12.95. One friend had the poke tuna bowl and she really enjoyed it and said it really filled her up. Another friend had the conch fritters, which were a hit with the whole table and the conch chowder which she said was really, really good and she would order it again. Our waitress really helped make it a good experience and everyone loved their meals. We also really liked the little gift shop and bought 6 matching "Girlfriends on Vacation" lightweight jackets and a few other cute things. First off I wanna say that the food at Shuckers is always great and the servers are always friendly. The one major issue with Shuckers is there's no reservation policy. Our group ranging between 10 and 14 people goes out every Thursday night and even places that don't have a reservation policy usually will make arrangements for us. We are now waiting an hour because one table of two is just sitting there finished with their meal but we need that table to complete our table of TEN. This is a policy they need to re-think for large partys!! read more

We are vacationing right now on Hutchinson Island and we enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Shuckers, the other night. Very warm atmosphere and welcoming staff. They sat us outside because we were a party of 11. No worries, the view was perfect, the ocean breeze delightful and the ceiling fans refreshing. We all ordered drinks and the favorite one was the Rum Runner in a bucket. We highly recommend this. Also the clams for an appetizer-- DELICIOUS! And they serve all the accompaniments with it. Our dinners were everything from Blackened Grouper to shrimp scampi. All of our plates were emptied! Not a drop left! The waiter was diligently by our table all night. Overall, I would give the food a three out of five. The presentation, the smell was so appetizing, but the food itself was not. I did not like the grits with my meal, and I wasn't really impressed with the breading on my mahi. We had a couple of appetizers and those were fabulous so I think if I went back, I would eat my dinner off the appetizer menu. The smoked old-fashioned was pretty good and the IPA they had on draft hit the spot. The service was good until we were all done and it was a party of 10. Once we were done and paid, she never came back to give us boxes or clean up the table at all so we could enjoy being together after dinner.
